Very sad, my parents are native, my mother is Cherokee and my dad is Lakota, it's sad how people kill others, we are all people living in the same world, I wish people will set their differences aside and love and respect eachother
Hi there my friend , Native Americans way of life was one of a kind ( the best ) we should of kept it, and if we did Earth would of been in a great shape right now .
I feel bad for the native Americans, none of my ancestors came in America until the late 1800s, they were all mostly farmers and villagers, I may be white but my ancestors were good people, they had nothing to do with this catastrophe
For me personal is very sad, what the British colony did with real root Americans. I saw the trail of tears program and I cry, I'm original from Russia and we didn't touch ours natives they are living in peace and harmony
In my German class, we talked about how the Holocast and the Trail of Tears were horrible events in human history. My German teacher also said how it's important that we admit to these events because admitting the truth is the honorable thing to do. Good job, sir, for making this peice that reminds us for our mistakes.

This is a reminder of an unfortunate time in our history. In high school I knew a girl who sketched a picture of an eye with a tear and First Peoples on the trail. It was very touching.
Beautiful and sad theme. The Trail of Tears is undoubtely one of the most tragic event of American history. I have even read one day the testimony of one soldier who wrote that it was the most cruel task he ever did, despite being involved in many battles before. Thanks for this tune that honours the memory of this people.
AlexMoby Thanks for saying all that, Alex! Yes, it was a tragic event. I'm glad you enjoyed listening to this tune, though. I hope you have a great week.
I was even thinking about writing a story about one of my Spanish ancestors feeling guilty for what he and his countrymen did to the native Mexicans, resulting in him rebelling against Cortez.
India Corea I love native American people. The reservations open for tourists is one of my favourite places I want to visit. I'm from Europe, and I have always been interested in East Asian and Native American culture and it's people.
The anime-style picture of the mother and child is so heartbreaking. Sometimes I can't believe that the Trail of Tears happened. It's such an atrocity in human history.
Still go through. Under this colonial system. America isn’t a country it’s a caliphate of rulers who don’t belong on the land. Only when they are removed can this once again be called a nation a nation of the first peoples.
This was Andrew Jackson's reward for the Cherokee, who provided the topographic intelligence that was vital to his victory over the Seminoles. This inspired many Cherokees to fight for the South during the Civil War.
Natalie K Thank you, Natalie! I'm glad you enjoyed it and thought that it had a lot of emotion in it. That was what I was aiming for. I hope you have a nice day. :)
The melody just SINGS the great tragedy of earlier times in our history. Such a bad time should always be remembered forever so the same mistakes aren't made again. This is amazing, thanks for making this! You have inspired me to draw something related.
My one set of 4th great grandparents were on the Trail of Tears. My 4th great grandfather died somewhere in Kentucky. His wife and children managed to escape. And hid with some white relatives of her husband. She told the children she was going to raise them as white indians.
This theme will help me in my webcomic project as well, since apaches have an important role in my story, and not just as the unfair "bad guys" role for once. Very nice :)
The oppression of any nation is a disgrace, there are many who have suffered at the hands of the powerful and the history hidden away..... all that can be done is to make people aware of what has been done in the past and what continues today, most importantly, never let it be forgotten.
I'm part Blackfoot Indian on my mother side and my fellow native American Indian people out there we should join forces and demand and declare Indian and native American month to our great ancestors that took the journey of the trail of tears and sacrifice their own life to have land their own territory for only native Americans and part native American Indian can only go
This piece is beautiful and tragic at the same time. I pray that all the innocents who died because of the Trail of Tears have found peace, wherever their souls may be.
Shima my great grand mother that had raised me. she is 127 still moving... she says she remembers the white man taking and stealing their villages she said that it was hard for her to see her mother and father leaving her and telling her to hide in the moutains she is still afraid of white mans she says its tough to talk about the long walk she said she had lost so many relatives and she says that she gets flash backs when she goes back to her home long where the grass grows and where the animals walk and where birds fly where the wind blows and where the river goes. Love my gamma she tells many stories tht brings tears and laughter ^-^ her name is beautiful sun set

Shaolin Schlag Wow, thank you! I really appreciate you saying that. I believe I will grow with time and I am growing. Some things just take a little bit of time, I guess. I hope you have a great week! :D
close your eyes and imagine: the burial of the late chieftain who died protecting his people against a pack of wolves his people chanting their farwells around his body guiding his soul to the ancestors his son unknowing what to do since he now has to take care of the people and guide them to where the food is
I'm white, and I don't feel guilty, because there's nothing I can do to fix the past. However, this is powerful, and I hate what the Europeans did, to take this country over. It's horrible, and look at what we've done with this land, with so much potential to be absolutely breathtaking. Respect to the Blackfoot tribes of Montana, and the Ute tribes of Colorado and Utah, these are the groups I have ties with.
I heard this in a college lecture a long time ago. One Cherokee once remarked about Sherman's March to the sea and how Atlanta Georgia was burned down. Georgia was where the Cherokee were forced out of. He said "Serves you right." The men just quietly agreed with him.
If you want to live a somewhat decent existence, don't lament over things that cannot be changed. The Trail of Tears was an atrocity, but it was a long time ago. No one is asking anyone to forget...but we have to look to the future.
I understand the comment and by rights America should never have been raped by greed and blood but it is in the past and those people have gone, and it is a good ideal to work towards a better future, but I live now and I believe that's where change for the better more harmonious change starts. We all see it in our own way so it's not a criticism just my way of seeing it. Hope you are well, take care, Blessed be
America it's time for the division to end because things are only getting worse and I understand everyone has their differences but the one thing that really hits home for me is that the Indians who have gone on are looking down at America and shaking their head in disappointment
I see some Comments here about "what the white man did" or "what would this land be like if they hadn't" I for one trace my ancestry from both the Ojibwe and Cree tribes, as well as Europeans (Celt, Norman, Anglo-Saxon) and personally I say it's pointless to argue over such things, cuz there is nothing we can do about it, what happened, happened. What matters is what we choose to do now, will we continue to spark the flames of old grudges? Or will we move forward? My great grandmother (who was full blood native and a Medicine Woman) told me one thing before she died, "Once, the Buffalo where many, wild and free, now they are gone, once my people where many, free people, now they are not. All things in this world come to an end, but where one ends another begins, the endless cycle of our world, just as the Great Spirit intended it to be"
Chase Colgan Its good to move on, my only problem personally is that you guys are such a small minority that you guys didn’t even get citizenship until ether after or during WWII. It just seems unfair since you guys were here first. I only wish that some of your people helped control and lead America with the white people.
Im part native too.. From my mothers side.. And if i was in this time i would have fought tooth and nail to stop the men taking over our tribe land and killing and destroying everything

Brandon Fiechter Yes but what life is that? Led to an reservation, without any rights in their own country and all that from some newcomers who they heard countless times pounding their chests about liberty, freedom and life? Seems those "Universal, God given" rights don't extend the "Redskins".
that's why you should change your name..we are in North Africa are not Arabs...and we've started to stop using Arabic names and confronting arabization, i wish all the best for Americans (native Americans)✌🙂
After listening, I started to wonder if the modern life of the Native Americans is going well, and whether they will be bullied. If there is, I can help call it back. It doesn't matter if the other party bleeds.

As i look to the seven winds
You could see the clouds
rolling across the sky
as the day started to rain
teardrops of blood across the land
lost in their visions of doubt
buried in their pain
white man had all the say
we were left to taciturn
as we watched everything burn
and the heavens cried
on the trail of tears
On some beaten shore
we watched the ships come in
one by one, our land wore thin
we could just watch with closed eyes
as the promises made were just lies
they said you don't belong here anymore
behind their mask, they wore a disguise
and the heavens cried
on the trail of tears
Blood spilled on our sacred ground
leaving a unwanted stain
where mighty warriors once made a stand
we never could walk hand in hand
when they lived by so much greed
we watched our people fall
thousands must bleed
still all we could do is try
and the heavens cried
on the trail of tears
Guided by the spirit wind
we held on to our pride
something they could'nt take away
as so many died
through our darkest years
and the heavens cried
on the trail of tears
trail of sorrow tears of blood from
Heaven my ancestors still weep.

...Those two people at crying at the beginning...they ain't gonna make it are they? .
Poor me another one, and I'll drink to all those who deserved better.
As an optimist, I definitely think those two people at the beginning made it ... they just had a hard struggle to survive, but they made it. :)
Brandon Fiechter Yes but what life is that? Led to an reservation, without any rights in their own country and all that from some newcomers who they heard countless times pounding their chests about liberty, freedom and life? Seems those "Universal, God given" rights don't extend the "Redskins".
Jovan Mitrić Yes, I suppose it wasn't much of a life. It was definitely a tragedy what happened to them and I hope it is never repeated again.
Better life for the Lord and for all his people!!!!
I am Cherokee indian

A'ho
that's why you should change your name..we are in North Africa are not Arabs...and we've started to stop using Arabic names and confronting arabization, i wish all the best for Americans (native Americans)✌🙂
Peace be with you Emily❤
After listening, I started to wonder if the modern life of the Native Americans is going well, and whether they will be bullied. If there is, I can help call it back. It doesn't matter if the other party bleeds.
