From what I heard years ago, Scavenger was originally meant to be Transmetal Inferno. But for some reason, they decided to kill him off instead. So they made the toy a different character.
The story goes Scavenger was a meant to be trans metal upgrade. But Inferno just didn’t sell well, so they relabeled it.
And they killed him in the show just because the writers felt like it. But given in the next season he was alive shows the writers might have regretted doing so.

I actually bought Inferno on a whim (wanted free delivery and he was discounted enough to be bought to meet that requirement) and I glad I did! That being said, Antagony is dicounted for £20 on HP but not too interested in buying the mold again in black. Do wished the bottom propeller fin was the same as the other three but I get why it's smaller. Also wished it came with the show accurate gun which I know 3P has made a few but it's expensive for just one gun.

This is truly one of the upgrades kits that has ever existed
This is a very decent upgrade kit for what it is besides the fact that Antagony can’t transform, it still looks neat nonetheless
Though, I think Antagony would’ve benefited a lot more had the upgrade kit just give her new head sculpts for the robot and ant modes, and new hands and a weapon.
Yeah, I’d love just the head, scaled down to fight the body without the kit.
I think there's something to be said about forcing a figure to be more sexy ultimately preventing the figure from doing what it was meant to do..

Finally someone is reviewing her I feel like everyone completely slept on this figure because it’s a dumb repaint but i actually like the colors way more on this one 😂 and you get a bonus head
Looks nice, and definitely makes her NOT Inferno, but having to rip parts off to transform is like what partsforming haters have nightmares over.
Its true, Overlord walked so this kit could tiptoe.
Reminds me of the ANTAGONIZER character from Fallout 3.

I like it, but if I am not mistaken, Antagony cant transform with the upgrade kit anymore. So it is sadly then not so much for me.

@@anthonydigironimo5371 yeah, just gotta pop some bits off. Nothings permenantly removed or cut off the figure.
For me i guess i only use chest + head parts to make her look different with Inferno & easier to transform
A very nice kit, but between Antagony seemingly being very hard to come by, disabling the transformation, and costing almost as much as the base figure, it seemed a bit discouraging.
I wonder if there's any hopes of Hasbro/Takara doing a dedicated Antagony mold or at least a more comic-inspired retool from someone else in the future. Perhaps a TM2 or BM Blackarachnia? At least this Selects one is pretty much a stand-in for the original Botcon toy.
I can def see hasbro using antagony as a future repaint for blackarachnia / airachnid down the road. Smaller bug legs for blackarachnia to force an ant out of a spider and more rounded wings for airachnid to force more of a flying ant vibe. I’d be so into it.

Can the heads be swapped without the torso piece? If so, could that allow for a transformation?
The female head’s attached to the chest piece so no lol but its not like screwed in so transformations maintained regardless

What parts are not allowing it to transform
The whole chest piece chunks into the inferno chest cavity after it’s flipped completely open and backwards. Also the leg extensions and feet parts clip onto the pegs on the inferno legs that slip into the ant tail in beast mode. Also the new hands have no ant leg danglin off em. Basically there’s 4+ parts that need to be removed to transform into an ant, still possible but parts-formery.
@@NiStuff so the parts you did not mentioned still allow it to transform ?
@@thansw theres no removing of pins or snapping anything off, everythings intact still so yeah slide out the chest chunk, pop off the new hands and new feet and its just the base black inferno figure.
@@NiStuff i mean you did not mention the thigh and crotch add ons do they needed to to be removed for transformation
@@thansw I didnt use the crotch pieces. Thighs probably need to be snapped off, havent tried it because I’m keeping her as a bot. The thighs just peg into the front facing mushroom peg rectangle, super easy to remove.

Seems to be scrubbed from the web, maybe theyre going to re-release a full production version soon as this one was all 3D printed and painted.

Nope. If you attach all pieces included in the set you gotta remove the slide in chest / head piece combo, feet, hands, crotch, butt and thigh pieces. No pins were removed and no pieces are permanently removed, just parts formery click in parts.
@@NiStuff if they made a kit to that that can transform then ill buy it
