Good speedrun demonstration but obviously it's almost useless on its own as an appropriate guide, seen as there are no saves in this video, or even a costly mistake, or any useful hints or tips. So my recommendation for anyone trying to get the trophy, should be to follow this speedrun video as much as you can, but also go on PSN trophies guide for Ico, go to the Castle guide trophy information and follow THEIR save spot (and their respective time stamps) recommendations. DON'T panic if you happen to be 5 or even 10 minutes behind this guy, as long as you're closer to the PSN trophies time stamps at their recommended save spots. I may even have been 12 minutes behind this dude in the end, and still got it. Using this AND PSN trophies helped me a lot in getting the platinum today!

What an incredible run! I couldn't come close to matching your times, but I was able to use enough of your techniques to finish under 2 hours for "Castle Guide"! You were especially helpful during the last section and the final two fights.
Thanks for the video, you're a legend! It helped me get the Castle Guide trophy, but man, it was nerve-racking! This game is great, but an absolute nightmare to speedrun. At least it really was for me! :p
Managed to get the trophy finally, I must say after the waterwheel the run is a piece of cake, not only you get better but there's not much tricky jumps and the shades aren't that aggresive as in previous parts, if you got to the main gate before 1:20:00 then the end shouldn't be that hard, you can take your time(but not too much time) to aim precisely during the jumps and take safe routes. Would also advise during the boss battle to watch on the video where the sword will be landing one by one when you play and pause the game, don't rush too much to kill the boss because when she'll attack when you won't be behind a pillar or wielding the sword then you're fucked and you'll start all over from the main gate.
I'm 47min when he's 33min, I also plan to pick up the shining sword and do the watermelon ending for the trophies, I wonder if I'll make it under the 2hs mark! If I do it I get the platinum!
For me always WOW effect run like this, beacouse you play without any savepoint (O_o), and amazing fast run and you very good know what exactly you must do!!! For example for me was very hardcorrect jumping on steel waterfall wheel (close with tree-ball-spiked-club-shining-sword) - i trying around tentimes, so for me - your vid very good job!!! Her climbing the block, me opening that gate for her...wow, she doesn't even have to hop on the huge crate you gotta move for her? This is absolutely crazy. I first played this when it came out in 2001 and only discovering this now as I try for the platinum. I want the platinum for all my all-time favourites. I gotta try this shit out.
ah rip, I did a run using ps now and I got to the bench by the gates at 1:50:00 which would clock me in within 2:10:00 to 2:20:00 so i gave up and went for the other second playthrough trophies, about to do a full run now :)
So in short: my 1:40h save before open the big Gate is already a failure. But i see alot of improvements on my side, specialy after seeing how much of this anoing fightes against the shadows you can skip. Luckily you don't have to do most of this really precise jumps to save a few seconds^^
@@SanchoPandaVTW oh, i never tried using the D-Pad xD But well, im glad i got the Platinum Trophy in this Game now, with a time of 1:53h It can be improved for sure, but after Platinum in Shadow of the Colossus and ICO, i need a different type of Game (playing Tomb Raider Legend right now, but oh well, there you also climb alot xD )
Holy freaking hell....I've FINALLY decided to get the platinum for this game because I just got the platinum on the PS4 Shadow of the Colossus. But my god...how'd you get 1:26 at main gate??? I just got through my first play through without strategy guide and my time at main gate was 2:45. I wanted to see how much I'd remember and I remembered pretty good except for the waterfall puzzle....I forgot about the wheel you had to turn to shut it off and lost some time going back there when I fell down the waterfall. Anyway....2 hr trophy is the only one I'm gonna have a hard time with. I cleared the game in 3:35 and died at final boss 2 times. So gotta do that again for the "no dying" trophy.
I never played the PS2 Version, but i do not wonder if this lever is not in, because on a normal playthrough you never need this bridge to cross. Maybe it is a NG+ thing and after porting the Game to PS3 they just let it stay there on the first playtrhough? But it is for sure a huge time saver running the Level this way, avoiding alot of stupid shadow battles. On my first real attempt (without seeing this video before) i was at 17min IGT after saving on the couch after the bridge, but this guy is already there in under 8min RTA (mean, his IGT is even lower) Luckily we can save in this Game and most ppl only play this Game via Speedrun because there's a Trophy for beating the Game in under 2h. But RIP my 1:40:00 save before open the big door xD
druha10304 when your standing on the launcher jump as soon as you see it start to move. Just press it, don't hold it down. This should solve your problem. It's not supposed to just launch you, you gotta jump with the launch. Hope this helps.
Attention to everyone, this is NOT on the ps3. Alot of the stuff he does you cannot do on the ps3 version of this game so you're not going to have the same time as him.

A lot of the scary looking precise jumps can be done using the d-pad, thankfully.

i give up theres something wrong at my game at the point where your supposed to get launched up into the air at 42:28
