Great to see Fan Zhendong coming back to top form at this key moment. Men's world table tennis has just become more exciting, right before the Olympics.
Even tho WCQ lost, he was much calmer and calculating most moves.. I don't believe he gave 100% like FZD did (in terms of energy spent and willpower). Also WCQ is much more stable in his style of playing and victory rate. I conclude that he will stay number 1 for a while.
I don't agree but I take nothing away of what you said besides fzd quality of strokes is much better, Wang is calm and plays a, much more different style his more free flow and his super good in open play and looks much more flexible and like you said his, stable and his, always in position to hit the ball smooth clean and it looks easy it looks like he play like his training everything looks perfect, now this is why fan will be his problem fan has much more quality in his strokes interns of spin power and execution is perfect fan can change his game according to who his playing he can, adapt to any player now if you look closely fan first 3 balls is much better than Wang, Wang is, always looking to open so he can get into his, rythym of play which we all no is open play fan however nails him in this fan never gives him a easy ball he has to work to win points also fan nails him on received fan receives is much better he doesn't give you open ball to bot from always from back spin also when he serve to Wang most of his serves was heavy backspin why cause he knows Wang wants, to flick to get into his playing style fan, stops him and also make sure that if Wang doesn't strong 3rd ball attack fan hits back very powerful and quality and placing the ball where Wang doesn't like it this makes fan better cause he can change during a match he adapts seeks and follow up lol also he done this again goes up Wang comes back and looks like his in control then fan change again and makes everything difficult now this is true maturity of a player that can win 3-1 the other player comes back makes it 3-3 then fan, still shows he overcome the last hurdle this for me personally shows big match temprament and this is why I choose fan

Well if you no table tennis you should look much deeper remember fan lost like 3 wtt in a row now dispite that fan is better and this, is, my reasons why. Fan stroke is much more quality all Chinese have good technique yes, Wang is calm but fan is calm aswell fan short ball is much better than Wang this, is, where fan is so good he barely gives, you open ball to play you really have to work from back spin yes backspin and he dictates from there now this is tactical play if you cannot play from short ball and your short ball really needs to be good effective and your 3rd ball short be quality ball and this, is what fan can do also if you attack him his follow up is really strong Wang is free flow in open play his the net cause everything looks natural like he just can't miss with fan, fan is smart if your third ball isn't so strong fan hits right through your attack not just hit through it's a quality ball and his placement is out of your reach so you cannot play a strong ball back this giving him the opportunity to take the point 2 brilliant players but I've said this before fan is king Wang will be king too but not whole fan is still there I like everything about this guy same approach to every match have you also notice Wang flick is so good fan knows this so he serve heavy and low backspin not side spin doing this won't give wang such a easy flick his forced to lift then again fan takes full advantage of that and takes the point fan doesn't play long rallies this is Chinese style they take the point quick that's what makes China better than all other countries yes they do have their off days but when they need to win then they win all the time China first 3 balls from serves to receives and they still have the best 3rd ball attack this 3 balls determines the point and China I has mastered this for years. They work on simple things to perfect it if your first 3 balls isn't quality you have no chance facing these guys.
