wondering how this will pan out as a sequel to a game that concluded on the message of letting go of the past and accepting that there are some things you just can't (or shouldn't) change. but now max is back, 10 years later, trying to do the same thing she had to suffer to learn _never_ to do again for the sake of another potential love interest...
This annoys me because I just finished the game and the story is so much more complex than “for the sake of another love interest” because max doesn’t even have to romance anyone in the game, and safi isn’t remotely a love interest.
@@celyi1486 that's why i said 'potential', and if you like it then that's fine. i just think they completely misunderstood the impact and sincerity of max's story, especially by giving her the option to join safi and become some kind of weird off-brand x-men. messing around too much with time was literally what nearly killed her and thousands of other people in the first place
They should've just made a new protagonist instead of bringing Max back. Wasn't the entire point of the "Farewell" episode to say goodbye to Max, Chloe and Arcadia Bay?
I think they utilized her well. The choices you can make and her dialog reflect her character growth from the first game well. In particular, the end of the 4th chapter and the last big decision you make work really well and only work with her growth and trauma from the first game.
@@just_a_normal_movie_bro990 Yea, I agree. I don’t think Max is the problem in this game-she’s the highlight, and the one thing they almost got perfect; only let down by some questionable character deflation
You're wrong for this on multiple fronts. None of the side characters except the core 4 have any time to develope. The call backs to the original are hand wavy and pure meh. Safi starts as likeable and sympathetic but quickly becomes irritating and unlikeable. The twist near the end is pretty insulting to the original. And the end is a clear attempt to start an x man franchise. What's the story moral?
@@janewolf6390 speak for yourself, I guess, I was avid that I would love this game even when everyone else was hating on it. Played the first two episodes in early access and was absolutely loving it. Finished it about an hour ago... and I hate it now.
Yup I've gotten it, Today offic got on steam and trying to download-- seems to be taking kinda long. 21.3 gig. My net connec is a fibre optic hmm. Anyone on pc having slow download probs?
Hm im not losing my mind, i dun care abt chloe. I had tried LIS 2 didn' like it that much. Alex one was tragic but alright. i wun hate. :) RL is bad engh
I understand some of the fans complaints with the new devs and all but honestly, reading comments here and on twitter is just mind boggling than their whole "criticism" is like completely made up in their head, the lenghts some people will go is just confusing, everything feels copy pasted with no critical thinking, just go to the life is strange subreddit
I very much agree with this comment. Considering how great chapter's 4 and 5 were in the og LIS, this game just lost the plot for the last two chapters and it felt more like an undergrad student trying to fill out the last couple of pages of their term paper with random useless filler.
Chapters 3-5 were SUCH a letdown. And the nightmare sequence seemed like it was only there because every game prior had one. I get Max has trauma from her past and it would make the most sense for her but DE handled it poorly imo, like most other things in this game. It didnt feel like we were coursing through life with supernatural ability. It feels like an entire new franchise with a Max Caufield skin slapped on. We didnt need an out of place dating simulator and its felt like most things that are interactive are irrelevant and uninteresting. Not to mention the lack of setting. The campus is so small, and its literally all we see. It felt cramped in a way that were ONLY here to solve a mystery and not go about life while also having a high threat pursue us like in the first game. This game was not thrilling or suspenseful and the plot was wayy too obvious. This has to be the most mundane game in the series by far and i was the MOST excited for this entry because its my first time playing LIS blind. Smh
“a worthy sequel”? it literally isn’t, and nothing about this game’s premise justifies bringing Max back, beyond nostalgia bait + a cheap cash grab. this isn’t Max in any way, shape or form, and LiS isn’t some murder mystery dating sim, despite what D9 believe.
@@shadywiskerzthat seems to be where the division is coming from; it’s been a minute since i played but chloe is toxic af no? it shouldn’t be any surprise that things didn’t work out between her and max, it’s also not the ending the original game pushed for. if any one thing annoys me about chloe living it’s just that, why is she even alive after surviving the storm? i feel the story of the first game made the point that where there is death there will always be death, chloe died in how many different ways? d9 should have doubled down and just had her killed off again off screen even if you did choose that ending, double whammy not only did max wipe a town off the map chole still died anyway. if anything it would only work to de’s story (i haven’t played it yet)
If it won't take my breath away like the first game then it's not worth £50. I bought the original for less than £10, though. The value for money was certainly there and in hindsight I feel like the original was worth £50. Your review hasn't convinced me to buy it full price, at the moment.
I just finished it, and I thought it was good. The 2nd game was only really good for its 1st and last episodes, and true colors was forgettable. So It's easily the best since the original. I'd say its worth it.
@@just_a_normal_movie_bro990 Thanks I will consider it based on this. For now I am playing Dragon Age with my friend so I can hold off on LiS and maybe wait for a cheeky sale.
I didn't like it :/ or well, I still don't know what to think, but I have a lot of points: 1. First I found it very annoying that there were so few scenarios. I know that it wasn't going to be comparable to the ones in the LIS 2 (because each chapter was a marvel, exploring so many places), but even in the first game, there were too many places to explore and advance in the story, even the Blackwell University scenario had many more places than everything seen in LIS Double Exposure, even the True Colors had much more to do in the town. 2. I felt that they recycled the plot a bit, with all that Safi and Maya stuff, very Chloe and Rachel-like, but with a plot twist to Safi's character, which I did like. 3. I don't know, sometimes I felt like the story had no direction, and at times it got really boring, plus a lot of subplots felt pointless, or they just suddenly threw in things that didn't make sense (for them to make sense you had to find certain collectibles). So many interesting parts and others that didn't make sense at all. It was weird. 4. The whole Chloe thing was pretty ironic to me, especially if you decided she was alive. I didn't expect to see her, in fact, I even wondered how they would do the story if Chloe was alive, because Max would be there and not with her, but I think at least that part was handled well. It made sense to me, Chloe was pretty much an idiot to Max, I wasn't surprised that she left her despite everything. 5. Other things that threw me off was that it turns out that Blackwell was a high school, I was like wtf, when in the first game it is made very clear that it is a university, even Max is already 18, she is supposed to be in college already. In addition to the fact that she mentions that she and Chloe studied high school together, which in any case is a lie and nonsense because, they never studied together at Blackwell, and even assuming that Blackwell was a high school, Max was not even in Arcadia Bay, she was still in Seattle 😭 she finished high school at 17, at 18 she was already in college at Blackwell. 6. The ending was too anticlimactic, the truth is that the chapter was very interesting, until you get back to Safi. It didn't give me any kind of strong emotion like the first two games did, even the bts one seemed more emotional to me. I knew it was going to be hard to make something as perfect as the first and second (which is my favorite), and I didn't expect them to surpass it, because the second one really set the bar too high for me. I think I was expecting something that would emotionally destroy me and leave me crying like the Díaz brothers, or make me tear like Max and Chloe's story, or at least make me feel sorry and sad for what happened to Alex and his family, but no. It lacked too much feeling, I didn't care if anything happened to the characters besides Max 😭 the only ones I liked were Moses, Vihn and a little bit of Safi (which seemed to me like Chloe, only with powers), from there on they could all go to hell and I wouldn't feel anything, which is surprising because you would expect that to plah with all those characters for 5 chapters you would have to feel something, and be affected if something happened to them or you behaved badly with them, but even in LIS 2 where in each chapter you met new people, I felt more connection with all of them that you only saw for one chapter (and I don't mean just that I liked them, but even that I hated or detested them) compared to all the characters in LIS DE, god, really nothing, not a feeling for them, not even dislike. It was nothing, which is worse. It lacked too much feeling. 7. It could have been shorter, and that's even though it actually seemed to me to be the shortest game in the series (not counting BTS). I imagine that's why they put in so much filler, otherwise the game would have been even shorter. 8. I didn't really feel the consequences of the decisions I made. I feel like everything would have happened the same in the main plot no matter what I did. Unlike the other games where even very small decisions could completely change the attitudes and even actions of the affected characters. In some cases, some more than others. Of course I didn't expect it to be as drastic as in 2, where you could literally make Daniel a good, obedient child or a rebellious and rude one (and to a certain point you couldn't intervene in his own decisions, because he took total autonomy of his actions depending on how you left him, and that obviously affected your options for possible endings quite a bit), but at least it was like in 1, where you could feel how things changed depending on what you decided, even if they were small changes. Not all of them are bad things, what I at least liked was: 8. It feels like the same Max. Retains everything about her, but with more traumas and also maturity, clearly older. 9. It has some very good plot twists, at least I grant it that, since the ones in Colors seemed crap to me. That thing about Safi and her power was great. 10. It's entertaining. Although I think it's a deception, at least you don't get bored playing it (only a few parts of the first and second chapter), compared to, for example, Colors, which seemed like a tremendous sleeping pill (the first two entire chapters, and half of the third, the rest were fine). 11. I liked the romance options (well, just the one with Vihn). LOL, the truth is that it's not much, but in my opinion the saga handles some terrible romances, none of the potential love interests from the other games pleased me, the only exception is Colors, where the two romantic options seemed cute and genuine to me (and that's the only good thing about that game along with the soundtrack). 12. Well, it has a good soundtrack. I thought it lacked something of that, which was strange because now the whole saga has excellent music, and it really immerses you. But at least some songs were cool. The truth is that since Deck Nine took control, I feel that they haven't been able to take the essence of the saga, which is not just a pretty game with beautiful settings, but an entire emotional plot that envelops you and makes your eyes tear. I think I'll give it a 7/10. Compared to the first and second games, which I replayed so many times, and I still do from time to time (especially the second one, I love to replay it during Christmas time), I don't think I'll play it again, and it's a good thing I bought it with a shared count because it would have been a pain to spend $64 USD and not play it again. At least I can say that it's an improvement over True Colors, because that one was awful to me. I hope the next one is as good as the first two :/ and that Max comes back with a game that does it justice. Btw sorry if I write something wrong, english it's not my first language 😅
My favourite is still Before The Storm. But i think that was mainly because i liked to chloe-rachel dynamic. When you talk about the most gripping story itself, it might still be the original life is strange. Deck Nine is very good at creating believable characters. Double Exposure feels like a mix of the two in some way. And while i enjoyed my time with it and loved the characters, it wasn't really gripping me from chapter 4 on. And yes, there was sadly never a moment where i got emotional, which happened multiple times in before the storm or 1 or even True Colors. So in the end it's just a good game and nothing special, kind of. Yes, it is really beautiful, the facial animations are great, the performances are excellent and i'm all here for that stuff. But there's something missing, sadly.
@marcush1438 Yeah, i mean, the animation it's gorgeous, but definitely something is missing :/ especially with the chapter 4 & 5. Such a shame they return Max for this. I hope the next one with her in the future be great
I have played all the LiS games so no question will be getting this. My favourite was actually before the storm as Chloe is my favourite character, but for pure game play definitely LiS 2 as I liked the morality concept and how your choices actually mattered and influenced which of the 7 endings you get. This game looks ok, but no Chloe is a downside, she is the best imo. Max's design looks a lot like Steph
Beat the game yesterday and id give it an 8/10. There are some flaws like side characters being underdeveloped and most choices don't really affect the story but i had fun and that's what matters most IMO
*I am going to ramble about the series and this will contain spoilers* I’ve played every Life is Strange game and DLC because I’m such a huge fan of the series. I got hooked with the original due to the amazing characters and plot. It was a new concept that hadn’t been done super well outside of a horror/thriller type genre (Heavy Rain for example). LiS and LiS: BtS are absolute masterpieces in my opinion. LiS: 2 was good for what it was. I wasn’t a huge fan of the plot, but the beginning and the end were top tier. LiS: True Colors is my personal favorite of the series due to the characters and Alex’s power that is actually translatable to real life (ofc her power is an exaggerated version but it’s still quite interesting to me). That story got me hooked and the emotional depth to it was executed beautifully, not to mention the LARP portion of the game. DLC for Steph was ok, it was slow, but also what can you expect from a prologue to True Colors? It was shown as just sitting in the record shop anyway so not really disappointed with that. Now onto DE. Just finished the game and going into it I was very nervous they were gonna screw it up. How can you even make a sequel to the original game that’s like off the charts good? Imo it’s a hard game to live up to. I also originally didn’t like that they decided to bring Max back because I was enjoying the diverse protagonists, but I’m actually not upset. I didn’t expect Chloe to have a huge role because to me it didn’t make sense for her time to come yet, especially based off the teasers for the game. The first chapter is so slow tho it was actually kinda boring to play through. But once you get past that, things start happening FAST and once you hit a certain point, confusion sets in because of how much you’re experiencing and processing in such a short time manner. The way that Deck Nine explored Max’s new power was really cool to me. And once you figure out Safi possess a unique power as well really surprised me actually. There were some really cool ideas and concepts in this game that I think should get more credit. The game itself was gorgeous. Each setting had a colorful and amazing atmosphere. Each character was likable (or hatable) for good reasons and Max had grown from the Arcadia Bay experience, which was showcased throughout the story. I do however think that a lot of the characters lacked a good background and/or character arc. I didn’t hate them as much as I did Mark Jefferson, Nathan Prescott, the cops, Jedd, etc and I didn’t love them as much as I loved simple side characters like Steph, Mikey, Kate, Lyla, Jacob, Skip, etc. They lacked an emotional boost. Amanda was just kinda there, no real connection or huge background. Moses too. I feel like Moses had great potential, but he’s also just there to help the story. It feels like his own story is left untouched. Vinh, Gwen, Diamond, Lucas, and even Alderman just felt empty. We don’t even know why Alderman disappeared from everywhere and anywhere. We just know why doppelgängers were about (Safi’s power), but what about Alderman and his strange case now? At the end of the game, we see Diamond having a nose bleed that won’t stop, and Safi sneaks behind her. Diamond has powers too now maybe? Probably my least favorite character in the game, so I could care less about her. But, Max will return? I believe since Max will return and figured out a lot of other things in this game, Chloe will have a bigger role to play next time. I guess we just have to wait 3 years and see
Story had potential, the execution of it in the final is so weird bro, but still waiting the next one, it deserves a next, but they have to do something big about it. Max returning? Not an necessary but guys come on, it’s so good to see and listen to her again. Max is everything 🥰
So...my thoughts for whatever their worth. Played the OG LiS, had seen others playthrough it before, and overall, this is how DEI stories should be written. Less about the sex, more about the story. "It was perfect, perfect, down the last drop" The 2nd game I loved for more personal reasons. I had an older cousin who i felt was a big brother in way, and playing through this game was a sort of catharsis for how my relationship with my cousin turned out. And again, the subtly here witb DEI content and a well-crafted narrative are what, to me, made this game a fit for the LiS title, but i think its just a little better than the first. Then we get to True Colors. Which i wont lie, once you play it, its not as bad a game as it sounds. It suffered from the same problem Double Exposure does in that, this series always seemed to be meant as an Anthology. Like a collective of stories surround teens and young adults, who develop "super powers", based on their psychological trauma from something that happened or their trying to fix. These games only really appealed to me in high school, because thats who they were made for. Ive not seen Chloe anywhere. And from what i read, she basically got the Sam treatment from the Tomb Raider reboots. A total shame Ashly Burch couldnt return as the chracter most of us loved in the first game. Another point I have an issue with, is mostly an image i saw scrolling online. What the hell is Max doing with a gun? If she can turn back time, what does she need that for? Game design? Well, Max doesnt look anything like she did in the first game. I get engine's mightve changed on necessity, but almost every character looks the same. This Babyface default face every character has just doesnt look right, and feels rushed. Overall, another LiS game that I wont consider as part of the series, as Max's story was mostly told. Its just kinda sad the devs cant go back to her without trying to make a whole other story for her. She couldve easily been a side character helping a new character understand their super power, or anything else. Double Exposure tries and fails to bring Max Caulfield back for any other reason than to just do so. Anyways, if you do enioy the game, im glad you do, and encourage people to continue supporting this game series, because gaming needs it as an industry. With that, thanks for reading if you did, and have a great rest of your day!
She is apparently everyone's favorite so they'd be dumb not to bring her back. Looking at trailer reactions everyone was super excited about her coming back.. so it wasn't a bad decision. She's going to act and look different too. It's been 10 years
I sorta feel like Max’s story has been told and bringing her back is just a lazy cash grab ,and than giving her sudden all new powers is dumb. I’ll pass.
Her powers evolved you are just mad because Chloe isn’t in the game boo hoo and you know what I’m fine with Chloe not returning she’s very toxic I get she’s a good friend people are just mad she didn’t show up
I agree. I feel like I wasted $$ on LIS 2, and True Colors. Nothing they make can live up to the first game. And NO, I don't want Chole. And Max together. Not mad about it. This game just seems like a cash grab, on a beloved franchise. Thought they'd do better.
@@cryptonictv8108i thought life is strange 2 was brilliant but after that it’s all rubbish. I like the idea of every game being a completely different story kind of like the movie The Ballad of Buster Scruggs but they have powers out of nowhere
@@katertot9410 I was against people hating it cause "no Chloe" in the first two episodes, and was still enjoying it. But after the following episodes, I genuinely just think it's a terrible story. For LiS, and for Max.
Everyone loves Max the most. Cash grab or not. They'd be dumb to not bring her back. Look at trailer reactions. Everyone loves the idea of bringing her back. I don't think you've played the game either
So many fans are calling this a cash grab and a stab at nostalgia, many are hurt about the break up between Max and Chloe, but let's be realistic, all of us here, Max was 18 and Chloe was 19, they both were carrying so much trauma and due to that neither one of them were able to heal the other, Chloe's promise to always be there for Max was doomed from the start that it was made. Chloe had spent more than half a decade unable to heal from the trauma of losing her dad when she still had her mother in her life to try to help her, so how in the world is she going to be able to heal someone who would have intense PTSD from being kidnapped and assaulted, someone that had allowed a storm to destroy the entire town so that Chloe could live. No, for Chloe, Max became an obligation, and it became an obligation that Chloe couldn't handle by a certain point. Remember the text where Max had asked Chloe if they could settle down in a certain town and lived together there, showing Max potentially wanting to move forward, sort of invalidating Max's comment on Chloe saying that Max was too focused on living in the past. When Chloe had replied basically saying that she couldn't trust Max to not rewind until she got the result that she wanted. Max and Chloe as a couple was always doomed, they were one of the first lesbian character troops in video games and they were childhood best friends. Two troops that most people love, making it possible for most fans to potentially overlook the personal flaws in their relationship. But, no, I say that the break up was realistic and that Chloe and Max, due to the intense events and nature surrounding their relationship was always doomed to fail.
The break up is realistic, great. Is it interesting or rewarding for the player tho? no. Its all done off screen, she doesn't even have an in-game model. People dont care about realism here, in this game you can cheat on people in different timelines, where is the realism? Its more about choices being interesting and engaging, no body would like it with max randomly got hit by a car and died because its realistic and it happens, it's not interesting. Why would people who destroyed a town for this person want to see them broken them up and never talking to each other? Also there are high school sweethearts that get married and stay together so it would be also realistic that they stayed together and worked things out. Which do you think chole fans would prefer to see? exactly.
Ik it’s an unpopular opinion but I rlly liked max in this life is strange. And that’s all. Nothing more and nothing less. The story could have been a lot better tbh but I think it was a decent game - 6/7 out of 10. Max bumped it up to a 7.5/8 for me just because she’s the face of lis for me.
I hope these games are leading to like an avengers type thing with all the characters teaming up against a bad guy with powers and instead of the typical hero in costumes deal it’s regular people with powers finding each other and stopping the big bad while trying to maintain their personal lives
I've said this many times. The game didn't excel originally strictly because of Max and Chloe but it was the power to rewind time and see all perspectives int he narrative. Her super power was what did it. They went downhill as soon as they changed it. For some reason the cast and story was always to blame but it truly was about the super powers along with a good story. Every subsequent game has had far inferior super powers. They could pass on that same power and the butterfly motif to other characters and other stories but they gone done f'd up on establishing what made it a good game to play.
True Colours power was worst so far. That whole game felt like therapy sessions. The story was extremely lame, the reveal was so blunt in every level. I dreaded every moment just hoping there will be something like all LiS series was about. But never.
imo, I've always thought that a "life is strange 2" would and should have had Max as the main protagonist, I played LiS 2 and just didn't like it nearly as much as LiS 1, then I played LiS True colors and I honestly liked it ALOT more than LiS 2, so now that we have this game, I am VERY excited to play it, and I hope they do max justice. (ALSO WHERE'S CHLOE!)
My friend got CD version early and i played whole shit with him twice, once on Bae, second on Bay, both times are shitty...EP1-2 are 10/10 but then it just turns into shit and some prequel to some Avengers Life is Strange Edition
It's a shit sequel, half the story is lackluster. Chloe or not this game had potential and at every point it could have redeemed itself they missed the mark. They could have done so much with Maya, and with the different timelines but didn't. They could have explored more of what don'tnod embraced, deep connections, life scenarios, hard topics. But they would barely touch them and then move on. I loved seeing max, and despite it all her character was still cool, so were some of the side characters like gwen moses, safi. The glitches is another thing, and random CTD's, things loading in the wrong orientation, also with PC if you don't have an amazing rig you'll have to spend like 30 minutes figuring out how to get it to look decent and run decent without dialogue coming out like a black and white movie where the mouths don't match the dialogue. It's frustrating. I wanted to love the game and the story, but man it's ending is like something from marvel.
Really, "fans" should seriously consider their absurd criticisms of the game. They classify it as if it were the worst when it is far from it. Its art direction is the best seen so far and that is reflected in the staging, the settings, the setting of what is now Max's life. They complain about the low weight of the decisions (especially the fans of the 1st LIS. Hello? Are you serious? Or have they already forgotten that the 1st LIS is the worst in terms of decision making, especially those that they chose to Sacrifice Arcadia Bay alone? It feels like playing a game where, when you reach the end, you bear the cost of all your decisions surrounding a city that is destined to ruin, it doesn't matter at all. consistent. They complain about the ending. Xd it's not even the end and I think that's more noticeable with the post-credits scene. This game is designed for continuity. Remember what Square Enix did with Final Fantasy 7? He divided it into three parts, because the same applies here and I think that instead of throwing out unsustainable hate, what you should know is that this game is not the end of the story, simply the beginning of what is to come. Didn't Max face his trauma here? Well, obviously not, something like that in itself is not like it can be dealt with so easily, at least not in the typical conventional way. Since this is the beginning of a story that is obviously going to continue, it makes sense that they don't exploit Max's trauma in this "first part" by labeling him a certain way. Can you get over Don't Assent and that "It's just not the same" nonsense? Dah, it's obvious that it's not going to be the same essence because you don't even think it is, please, in fact if it were the same you yourselves would complain that it's "a copy". Let's talk about Chloe's controversial topic. People can't believe Chloe and Max broke up so abruptly. I'm sorry? Have you already forgotten that Chloe really is a person with numerous bouts of immaturity where she has made extremely questionable decisions? That is to say. It is impossible that Chloe would send Max to hell again, but they forget that she has done it before even with touches of manipulation (Kate's call and her jealous attack when she was 5 years old) (The numerous threats to her mother to leave house just to have validity in her point of view) (Even the possible elopement with Rachel, which fortunately did not happen, because if such an opportunity had arisen, Chloe herself said she would leave without hesitation, abandoning her mother in the process. , and don't tell me otherwise). That said, don't think I hate Chloe, she's actually my second favorite character behind Rachel Amber, but things are what they are. Should fans stop painting victimhood and excusing attitudes with abandonment and loss, because many people suffer from it and don't have those reactions at all. That said, they even forget that the game takes part from the comics and that in said comic they did read it, Chloe herself subtly tells Max that he never really asked her what she wanted, that she was happy but implied that she was I felt misunderstood. This gives way to what happens here, although it is not shown to us, it is obvious that Chloe and Max had to separate in order to each have their own grief, that is something that would happen sooner or later, no matter how much promise there was to "never separate." ". The grieving process is something we must experience ourselves, and learn to cope with it ourselves. Let's move on to the soundtrack. I don't understand the invented complaints that Deck Nine doesn't know how to have good soundtracks when the best soundtracks are precisely in their games (before the storm with Daugther, and True Colors) are the games with the best soundtracks objectively speaking, and this one doesn't do either. It falls behind in this aspect (beyond the song on loop when you enter the bar that can be heavy). Finally, let's talk about the plot without giving spoilers obviously. They complain about a slow pace but I come back and repeat. It is very obvious that this game will be divided into parts like Final Fantasy 7. That is, this is only the beginning of what is to come, therefore characters and the advancement of the plot are not going to be developed absolutely everything just with the starter that they are . these five chapters, as they are leaving more content for the next part. In short, for me it is a worthy sequel despite the criticisms that not even those who criticize it really support in a functional way. Not to mention everything that can come with the final reveal, inviting possibilities of recovering previous characters and searching for new characters with abilities. My advice is to enjoy the game first-hand, and do not get carried away by the exaggerated criticism of those who did not enjoy it, because your opinion should never be based on the opinion of others. Give yourself the opportunity to formulate your own criteria, and to live your own experiences. Having said the above, have a good day and blessings to everyone.🙏
I wonder if this has been run through Google translate from a language without gendered pronouns. I get the meaning of it, but the "he" instead of " she" or "it" gives it away a bit
@anne-zh2kd I didn't really use Google Translate. I was in a hurry while writing this and didn't proofread it properly. I also think that the points were understood despite everything.

Max, beloved? In my experience everyone's complaining about how unbelievably boring she is. Excited to see if Double Exposure will influence that perception of her
Off the hanges with Woke & unlike this Reviewer that Got Paid to Make a Great Review the other parts of the Game make you Question Why they brought Max Back. 9/10 More like 6/10 but he did only go through Chloe Dead Choice instead of the Break up Choice. Which means He didn't play the Whole Game & Played Both sides or his Review would be lower.
11/10 sadly. Certain woman with voice deeper then Mariana Trench, gender neutral toilet, certain flag on view 60% off the time, etc. Modern audience must be happy for sure. But for Sweet Baby Inc. first two chapters are not that bad, yet agenda is strong with this one so if you don´t like it i am afraid it is not game for you.
wondering how this will pan out as a sequel to a game that concluded on the message of letting go of the past and accepting that there are some things you just can't (or shouldn't) change. but now max is back, 10 years later, trying to do the same thing she had to suffer to learn _never_ to do again for the sake of another potential love interest...
yeah it kinda reminds me of the message that deponia doomsday told us
This annoys me because I just finished the game and the story is so much more complex than “for the sake of another love interest” because max doesn’t even have to romance anyone in the game, and safi isn’t remotely a love interest.
W Comment
The farewell episode was a prequel to Life is Strange when Max's family moved away years prior.
It was just fan service.
Why wouldn't they cash in on her. She's apparently everyone's favorite
I think they utilized her well. The choices you can make and her dialog reflect her character growth from the first game well. In particular, the end of the 4th chapter and the last big decision you make work really well and only work with her growth and trauma from the first game.
@@just_a_normal_movie_bro990
Yea, I agree.

I understand some of the fans complaints with the new devs and all but honestly, reading comments here and on twitter is just mind boggling than their whole "criticism" is like completely made up in their head, the lenghts some people will go is just confusing, everything feels copy pasted with no critical thinking, just go to the life is strange subreddit
The first three episodes were my favorite in the entire series. The last 2 were the worst story I've ever seen in any media
Y’all just mad you didn’t get your Chloe max fantasy lol

I didn't like it :/ or well, I still don't know what to think, but I have a lot of points:
Not all of them are bad things, what I at least liked was:
I'll go with "cheap nostalgia-baiting cash grab"; otherwise, there would have been a sequel to the original game released years ago.

I just got the first 3 games for 25$, and will play them.
I'll wait until Double Exposure is on sale, and then see if it is worth it.
@@Casey093 it is NOT

Most likely.
Beat the game yesterday and id give it an 8/10. There are some flaws like side characters being underdeveloped and most choices don't really affect the story but i had fun and that's what matters most IMO
*I am going to ramble about the series and this will contain spoilers*
I’ve played every Life is Strange game and DLC because I’m such a huge fan of the series.
"It was perfect, perfect, down the last drop"
The 2nd game I loved for more personal reasons.

False.
Have you ever played the game? 🙄
Everyone loves Max the most. Cash grab or not. They'd be dumb to not bring her back. Look at trailer reactions. Everyone loves the idea of bringing her back. I don't think you've played the game either
How do you define a cheap cashgrab? What would of had to be different about the game for it to not feel like that to you?
Which do you think chole fans would prefer to see? exactly.
thats okay but chloe not being in the game is like not even an issue with the amount of bullshit the game pulls after episode 3
But regardless of Chloe being there or not, the story sucks

Max Caufield likes "Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within" and ain't afraid to say it! Er, think it!
Huh that film had nothing to do with FF franchise it was off topic
@@zacatkinson3926 it is a reference to the first game when Max had an inner monologue that she liked Spirits Within when most people disliked it.
She definitely had that personality. Spirits Within was a great movie, imo.
I heard the plot plays pretty much 100% on university campus. I was hoping for some town or nature locations, is that true?
Ik it’s an unpopular opinion but I rlly liked max in this life is strange. And that’s all. Nothing more and nothing less. The story could have been a lot better tbh but I think it was a decent game - 6/7 out of 10. Max bumped it up to a 7.5/8 for me just because she’s the face of lis for me.
I hope these games are leading to like an avengers type thing with all the characters teaming up against a bad guy with powers and instead of the typical hero in costumes deal it’s regular people with powers finding each other and stopping the big bad while trying to maintain their personal lives
imagine giving the humiliation ritual of Max a 9/10
Life is Strange certainly doesn't need its own "Last Jedi".
This doesn't feel as full of a game as the original. And then it ends with a Marvel esque teaser for a new story
They only did this with Max cause the other gsmes did bad
I've said this many times. The game didn't excel originally strictly because of Max and Chloe but it was the power to rewind time and see all perspectives int he narrative. Her super power was what did it. They went downhill as soon as they changed it. For some reason the cast and story was always to blame but it truly was about the super powers along with a good story. Every subsequent game has had far inferior super powers. They could pass on that same power and the butterfly motif to other characters and other stories but they gone done f'd up on establishing what made it a good game to play.
I’ve been saying the same thing for years!
True Colours power was worst so far. That whole game felt like therapy sessions. The story was extremely lame, the reveal was so blunt in every level. I dreaded every moment just hoping there will be something like all LiS series was about. But never.
Lmfao yea right. It's one of the shittiest sequels of all-time.
Holy shit most of this comment section looks copy pasted do people even form their own opinions in this day and age? 😪
IS THERE GOING TO BE A DLC FOR THIS GAME OR ANOTHER GAME FOR Max Caulfield WE WILL HAVE TO WAIT
imo, I've always thought that a "life is strange 2" would and should have had Max as the main protagonist, I played LiS 2 and just didn't like it nearly as much as LiS 1, then I played LiS True colors and I honestly liked it ALOT more than LiS 2, so now that we have this game, I am VERY excited to play it, and I hope they do max justice. (ALSO WHERE'S CHLOE!)
My friend got CD version early and i played whole shit with him twice, once on Bae, second on Bay, both times are shitty...EP1-2 are 10/10 but then it just turns into shit and some prequel to some Avengers Life is Strange Edition
Before the Storm is the best but the original is good too
LiS2 is the best.

Before the storm is a joke
First. And can’t wait to start the game
Me as well ❤
Game has a mostly positive rating 76% but i think that will decrease since it just fully released yesterday
I wonder what Diamond’s power is🤔
It's a shit sequel, half the story is lackluster.
Taking about bugs but not mentioning platform....
Paid reviewer who will be denied access to games if he gives them a negative review, gives a positive review. Shocking.
It's just not fair (and a bit childish too) to call a review "paid"only because you don't agree with their opinion
You realize companys can't pay people to say good things about their game.
@@just_a_normal_movie_bro990 pfft lol are you serious? it's incredibly common
@bobdonda all a game company can do is sponsor people, but even that does not require the person to say good things. They can't put it in the contract that you have to say nice things.
I liked this game alot. Easily in my top 3 life is strange games
People I here mad I thought it was a good game one thing I’ll say is the extras felt a bit shallow and I once found vinh T pose
You didnt even talk about the soundtrack
It was perfect fine game and i can give 10 outta 10 til playing chapter 4 and 5.
I was like literally wtf? Superpowers…?
Too sad they ruined the game and turning into cash cow
It is sooooooo good! Damn,... I played it and loved it even more than the original!
This game is an origin story for the xmen
Only 2 Choices We Broke Up & She Died Lol 😂😢
1st Choice You Did Destroyed & Didn't Save Arcadia Bay By Hurricane & You Don't Even Get the Girl in Future 😅😢 (Arcadia Bay's population is about 5000, Didn't Save 4999 Peoples, Lol You Can Save One Homeless Lady In First Game)
2nd Choice Chloe Dies & Save Arcadia Bay
Wtf Kind Of Choice is This😂
Not Going To Play This Game 😢😢
And Victoria, Steph, Mikey, Kate, David, Jefferson, two cops and Newport woman...
Literally I regret buying this shit. Garbage. A cruel joke for any fans of the series. I've requested a refund and will not be buying any more games from this franchise.
The absence of Chloe and the original Max with her powers make this a bad sequel, even if the game is good.
Sorry to say this but people who think like that are blinded by nostalgia
They really cant ever match the magic of the original game.
4/5 would recommend
I could never get into this, she looks NOTHING like Max.

lookin forward to it considering they "remastered" it with deck nine literally a few years after teh original. that being said. glad the review is positive cus with the mutation of her time powers being different from teh original. i was slightly concerned. looking forward to seeing max again :)
You failed to mention who deck 9 is.
He literally says they are the developer lmao
@Tgatx1996 Who does that answer my question...... So many stupid people.
@Tgatx1996 WHO ARE THEY....

Chapter 4 SAFI IS A SHAPESHIFTER. 🤫🤫
Max, beloved? In my experience everyone's complaining about how unbelievably boring she is. Excited to see if Double Exposure will influence that perception of her
i never got the obsession with her. in the first game she feels more like a neutral observer than a real character with motivations and desires
Nice! After True Colors I cant wait to play this. Deck Nine rocks and THAT comes from a guy who HATES LiS 1 and 2 😂
I love life is strange 2 thats the best out the series 😊😊

So how woke is this game?
I’m asking for a friend
Off the hanges with Woke & unlike this Reviewer that Got Paid to Make a Great Review the other parts of the Game make you Question Why they brought Max Back. 9/10 More like 6/10 but he did only go through Chloe Dead Choice instead of the Break up Choice. Which means He didn't play the Whole Game & Played Both sides or his Review would be lower.
@@mattstansbeary3068 thanks mate
11/10 sadly. Certain woman with voice deeper then Mariana Trench, gender neutral toilet, certain flag on view 60% off the time, etc. Modern audience must be happy for sure. But for Sweet Baby Inc. first two chapters are not that bad, yet agenda is strong with this one so if you don´t like it i am afraid it is not game for you.
What does it matter, don’t buy the game. Simple
If you or "your friend" have to care about that then just go and play COD. Fucking brainrot.
