Mistah Pokey I WAS GONEEEEE, I’m black and I’ve just never liked wearing we’ve but my sister loves it and I showed her this and we both could not stop laughing
It's universal, love. From here to Africa to wherever The Mother Goddess sweets her daughters we are ALL magical. Remember that and remember to remind others. This isn't something we can afford to forget. We are 1 no matter where we're at.🌏🌎🌍
jcanthony16 Yes, you should be proud!! The creator made you perfect just as you are. It's the human race and the society we live in here on earth that creates and gets caught up in judgement, criticism, fear, hatred towards people of color.
Idk why I decide that 2 in the morning is a great time to listen to poems like this and have tears leak from my eyes with each one. I’m so empathetic that I just get pain and tears even if I haven’t experienced these things because I understand them. And even though it hurts I continue to watch these videos because they not only make me cry, but they make me smile and laugh sometimes too and I sometimes feel like I just need to *feel* so this is what I do.
This was funny at first, but the end part touched my soul. My mama (grandmother) was the greatest person I have ever known. The way she walk, talked, laughed, and nagged me brought me nothing but joy. Lord knows I miss her. oh he knows. he knows. he knows. I can't count the days I spent regretting I couldn't show her the man I wanted her to see.
I'm actually crying. I'm wiping them off my damn cheek as I write this. If anyone knew how hard it is to make me cry...this was both beautiful and gut wrenching.
3:32 Did you guys hear the "aww" Favourite piece and that one line is just the best thing. If a guy told me his mom loved (or would've loved) me, I'd bawl.
Because my mother is......... Was, magic. Que the tears. I find myself saying, my mom is, u mean was all the time. Its like ripping off a bandage way too soon. My mother passed in may.. Still seems like someone else's life im living.
I really do love black girl magic, I’m a little white girl my bestie is a big tough black girl, she fought me how to fight, make hair oils and conditioner, she was the one who kept extra pads and I had the first aid kit. She is still my best friend... we’re both in the 7th grade, been besties since 4th, I’ll tell you, black girl magic is what I love, I love the color of her skin and when she brings me snacks cause she knows, just KNOWS when I’m on my period, and i do for her what she does for me. 1 more time for the people in the back, I live black girl magic.
His mom was as magical as she was savage. 😂💀
"If you're gonna cry over a girl, at least cry over a girl with her own hair" *Slam*
#look-my soul had left my body at that point! ;D
Mistah Pokey i don't get it...help
Because most of us tend to wear weave or use relaxers ( i mean I don't, but most do)
i mean if she uses relaxer its still her own hair its just not natural but its hers..
Mistah Pokey I WAS GONEEEEE, I’m black and I’ve just never liked wearing we’ve but my sister loves it and I showed her this and we both could not stop laughing

There is nothing more magical than watching a wordsmith take plain, every day words and craft them into images and ideas that recreate me...
Right? The way he makes me laugh helplessly and weep with a hand clutched tightly to the chest in every single poem is mystifying
Loved the Henrietta Lacks reference!
It made me think back to the movie adaptation-- wow, it brought me to tears.
That hit me right in the feels man. I'm going to be thinking about how well crafted those last lines were all week.
