You can be proud, leyland p76 drove along the roads of Russia! This event was due to the 2019 Beijing-Paris rally.

Those 4 speed top loading Borg Warner gear box, gear sticks were a night mare. That bloody nylon ball that the stick swiveled on, would crack really easily, a pain the arts. But for that donk it was a close ratio and gave very impressive performance off the make.

The front reminds me a little of the Aston Martin lagonda and the back quarter panel looks like an old cressida.

We had a family car that was the same as this one except with black upholstery. It was the bee's knees.
I later on had 2 of them, a green V8 4 speed and a dark red V8 automatic. Also the bee's knees. They used to get 27mpg (hway) which was extremely good for a V8 back then.

I had one in the mid 80 s in the same colour but black interior. It was a rare 4 on the floor,in immaculate condition. I remember l paid 400 dollars for it as the clutch had a judder in it which l fixed. What a great and beautiful car it was, wish l still had it. Love the P76.So much shit gets put on it by people who know nothing about it

My dad had a 1973 Leyland P76 V8 Orange 4 speed on the floor that he owned in the 70's when he was young and he sold it in Alice Springs during the 70's.

This was probably the best Aussie car ever, at least of the 70s. This, or the XD Falcon.

Should’ve gone with 15” LTD steelies, you just have to machine the centre holes out a tad. 60 series 205 tyres work better on 15s than 14s if the car was designed for 14” 78s 175. Of course at the back the world’s the limit, well seemingly. Nice car, pretty original.

Safty concern there with Brakes ! You should change those brake pads and shoes. Asbestos was commonly used in those days !! Also those rubber brake hoses would be suspect.

And all the rubber components, so... brake hoses, master cylinder internals, caliper piston seals and rear brake slave cylinders.

Using spacers between the wheel and hub is illegal, (for the safety reason you detailed after removing that wheel)... unless it's factory, which is isn't.
