If you think about it in the song. It never defined what's a hero. A villain also doesn't need strength or your concerns. They do what they want and believe in too. Machiavelli and the Budda both teach fine examples of human greatness. Tossing terms like good and evil, hero and villain is too simple. We should instead look in ourselves to be the best person as can be within. The bases for a hero lies with the Word Saving, and Protecting. For example for Saving: a damsel in distress needs to be saved from falling off a cliff or starving to death. An example for protecting: A pack of humans go inside a cave because there's a blizzard. To there surprise a mother bear comes charging at them because it's her home. Another example would be if any cake monsters came after your child's hand made birthday cake. Stand there menacingly like a statue and resolve it without resorting to tickling anyone. The bases for villainy is someone committing an act that's unacceptable or a deviation from norms because one or more persons said so.

I wasn't because i only just recently learned it was originally in english. I read ahead in the manga long before it, so by the time i got to watching it animated, the dub was out, so i watched it dubbed. When she sung in english it surprised me and i thought "oh, they made an english cover of the song for the anime? Not many anime's do that when characters sing nowadays, very cool!" And a few weeks back i wanted to see the clip of eri smiling, and it was the japanese dub, but the song was in english, which did at that point surprise the hell out of me.

It’s the only reason people like Endeavor and Bakugo were able to get as far as they did with their rotten personalities (though both have gotten better). All Might was in that golden spot where he both had immense power and the heart of a true hero. However, a hero without “power” in the traditional sense is far from worthless. Case in point, this episode: no amount of Smashes, Prominence Burns, Howitzer Impacts, Phantom Menaces, or Recipro Bursts could have saved Eri from the mental grip Overhaul still had on her. That was all because of Jiro’s song, and the effort Class A put into the stage production. In fact, the two arcs Eri has been a major part of so far show the two sides of the coin for what heroes need to do: they need to save them from imminent physical danger (Overhaul Arc), and they need to save their hearts (Gentle and La Brava Arc). Currently society is putting almost all its effort into the former, where people with powerful quirks shine, but neglects the latter; BOTH are needed in order for a TRUE hero society to exist. If you think about it in the song. It never defined what's a hero. A villain also doesn't need strength or your concerns. They do what they want and believe in too. Machiavelli and the Budda both teach fine examples of human greatness. Tossing terms like good and evil, hero and villain is too simple. We should instead look in ourselves to be the best person as can be within.
The bases for a hero lies with the Word Saving, and Protecting. For example for Saving: a damsel in distress needs to be saved from falling off a cliff or starving to death. An example for protecting: A pack of humans go inside a cave because there's a blizzard. To there surprise a mother bear comes charging at them because it's her home. Another example would be if any cake monsters came after your child's hand made birthday cake. Stand there menacingly like a statue and resolve it without resorting to tickling anyone.
The bases for villainy is someone committing an act that's unacceptable or a deviation from norms because one or more persons said so.

I was!
I wasn't because i only just recently learned it was originally in english. I read ahead in the manga long before it, so by the time i got to watching it animated, the dub was out, so i watched it dubbed. When she sung in english it surprised me and i thought "oh, they made an english cover of the song for the anime? Not many anime's do that when characters sing nowadays, very cool!" And a few weeks back i wanted to see the clip of eri smiling, and it was the japanese dub, but the song was in english, which did at that point surprise the hell out of me.

@@Emerardo all depends on what your angle is. Your comment shows exactly what Horikoshi is saying is wrong with the society of MHA: power above everything. It’s the only reason people like Endeavor and Bakugo were able to get as far as they did with their rotten personalities (though both have gotten better). All Might was in that golden spot where he both had immense power and the heart of a true hero.
However, a hero without “power” in the traditional sense is far from worthless. Case in point, this episode: no amount of Smashes, Prominence Burns, Howitzer Impacts, Phantom Menaces, or Recipro Bursts could have saved Eri from the mental grip Overhaul still had on her. That was all because of Jiro’s song, and the effort Class A put into the stage production.
In fact, the two arcs Eri has been a major part of so far show the two sides of the coin for what heroes need to do: they need to save them from imminent physical danger (Overhaul Arc), and they need to save their hearts (Gentle and La Brava Arc). Currently society is putting almost all its effort into the former, where people with powerful quirks shine, but neglects the latter; BOTH are needed in order for a TRUE hero society to exist. And to save someone’s heart, your quirk does not need to be powerful. Heck, you don’t even necessarily need one.
And that is why stuff like what you just said runs counter to everything Horikoshi is building up.
