Starting on programming here, that thing on 'sudo /etc/init.d/mysql start' solved my problem, everywhere else I looked tried to start mysql using this other command 'systemctl status mysql' but gave me an error saying that 'System has not been booted with systemd as init system (PID 1). Can't operate. Failed to connect to bus: Host is down'. Why did your command worked?
