I played a lot on a PvP server (1000 kills 2000 deaths lol) and was only improving really slowly and then randomly one day like a week ago I started getting way better and getting some decent combos

1. kinda whenever is fine but usually when you are backed up 2. when you want to press s is when you are losing a trade or you miss your first hit and they get the first hit on you 3. strafe when you are trying to bait or mess up someones aim. But you usually want to straightline
You should go for crits if your fighting a high ping player or you are on high ping, or if you have them in a combo for max damage. Very good question!
This is a good and well rounded guide. It covers good techniques in Sword and this has pretty much everything necessary to reach HT3 and even take one or two rounds off some of the worse LT2s. Great as guide (I'm waiting to test for HT3 again, and these techniques are basically the bread and butter of a good HT3's gameplay. Obviously, some other techniques exist but they aren't technically necessary for HT3 level; this provides enough to get HT3 if you practice the techniques a lot).
Finally not a tutorial where the person just tells you to p crit and w tap. This tutorial actually goes in depth in more advanced techniques you don’t see anyone explaining anywhere else
A tip is you should add sweep hit into w hits if they miss a hit to get a crazy combo! usually when jump resetting of course don't spam it! it's like a backstab don't over use it. good video though!!!
