  • Firenock lighted nock Installation video for Q3h-G (Q style 3 pack Hunting in Green). The information provided in this video is also useful for other styles* of Firenock lighted nocks as long as they use the Extreme Shock End Cap System (*please note that nock, circuit and end cap may look different for other styles of Firenock lighted nock, but their installation principles are the same).

whats the insertion for if they turn on when you drop them? doesn't seem like you should need them..

The insert (Battery end cap) is nothing more than a battery stopper. Just an FYI, the nine grains battery asserted over 300 LbF on impact out of a 420 fps crossbow with 400 grains crossbow arrow into a spider-web target. Therefore, something like a battery end cap (70761-T5 Aluminum, O-ring, and the use of 13,000 pounds per square inch AC (Super glue) glue of over 10,000 Cp is what is needed to function under those conditions. i.e., The internal diameter of the crossbow shaft is only 0.300", and a circumference of 0.94" with an average of 0.5 mm of total contact/ glue surface is small. Thus, this high level of glue is a must.
The activation of the Firenock is run by a 10K Fuzzy logic computer with a 65G acceleration switch, a six-second time delay, and a 15-degree motion sensor. One must hold the arrow motionless to time past the six-second time delay and prevent the motion sensor from kicking in; then, the acceleration switch is activated with a vertical drop. When all three gates pass, the Firenock can be shut off! While only the 65G acceleration needs to be turned on for the light to turn on. Then, the six-second time delay will protect the system as there may be multiple hits with the flight time or impact. After that, the 15-degree motion sensor is used to prevent the system from turning off UNLESS you desire to turn it off and do the above procedure.
