Ten years ago I bought dozens of these at pawn shops for less than a hundred bucks. Now the go for nearly six hundred. The custom shop limited editions go for nine hundred.
I found mine for $99 at a pawn shop. I didn't even know what it was other than it looked quirky so I bought it and now it has become one of my favorite guitars out of a collection of 50!
I’ve owned a reissue ‘66 Wishire faded or satin or whatever they call it. I found the driven and dirty tones is where it kicked ass. The clean tones sounded pinched, lacked note bloom. Ymmv.
I've had one side by side with an original 66 and they're extraordinarily accurate.
