    Let’s face it: we went because of Viola but we fell in love with the whole cast. These women were not only powerful physically and emotionally yet beautiful.

      No I went because I read the history first King Ghezo was considered the slave King and I wanted to know how it would be displayed on screen how not to hate Ghezo but to understand that he inherited the slave trade

    People complaining about the movie obviously havent watched it yet. The slave trade was highlighted multiple times throughout the movie. Also this film is in theaters not the history channel. 99% of the movies in theaters are fictional. Stop complaining and enjoy the movie for what it is.

      They claimed it was based on true events. It was not.
      In reality, the war itself was fought so they could keep having slaves. That "way of life" the white man was trying to rob these strong powerful queens of was slavery. They thankfully eventually lost and were destroyed in war and stopped capturing and selling slaves.

    The interviewer did a great job. Great questions. She showed respect to Gina and Viola. She acknowledged all the women. And as a South African , I am proud of how well she pronounces Thuso’s name . She sounds like a South African native. Well done.❤

    The beauty of these women, the sisterhood demonstrated, had me in tears in many places. Lashana Lynch's and Sheila Atim's characters really stole my heart. Such statuesque beauties. And Viola Davis did her thing. They all did. This was truly something special. I experienced "all" the emotions. Definitely going to watch in theaters again.

    Love love love this movie and cast. As a survivor I cried . As a mother I cried. As a sister I cried. As a daughter I cried. As a brown skinned plus size woman I cried. But all the tears was for the beauty I saw represented on that screen. Great job ladies. To all the actors.

    Thuso was such a force!! I have watched the movie twice, and I see her depth each and every single time. Her reaction when Izogie died moved me to tears- I felt like I lost a sister. 😢She’s going places and I’m so happy to see her growth! I would have loved to see Jimmy Odukoya participate in this interview as well- I hated him so much. 😂I’m used to seeing in Nollywood movies, but seeing up on the big screen was such an honor. 🇳🇬 I also wish him all the best!
    This is a time in history that we might not get again, and I’m just grateful to be a part of it.

    Just watched it in theaters last night and at the end everyone clapped. Haven't seen that happen in a LONG LONG time. They don't make movies like this anymore. I laughed, I cried and I feel like I went on a journey with all these women.

    I just watched this movie, and my heart was ripped out and put back and, my god, one of the best movies of ALL TIME! The blood oath scene gave me an out of body experience. I hummed along, and I cried. My god, I don't know why I cried SO HARD during this scene. The voices of the black women in harmony, like they were telling a whole paralel tale of sorrow and strength. 10/10. I wanna watch this movie again.

    Hands down one of the best movies, I’ve ever watched. I went through every emotion with them. I was fully engaged with anger, I was fuelled with compassion. I felt the pain, happiness, venerable, sadness, strength and unity. So much emotion to dissect, that you have to watch it 3 or 4 times. I’m definitely going to watch it again. All I kept saying was, I love being a black person. The whole cinema clapped and felt empowered. The whole cast was amazing in their craft. Our people have suffered and overcame a lot and it goes to show the beauty and pain of our people.

    This movie was amazing! I saw it twice. People need to understand this isn't a documentary or true story. The movie is based on true story and has some fictional characters. It's an amazing action film with wonderful actors.

      Unfortunately people will complain about everything. This should be a learning curve for everyone when you movies like this. I knew nothing about this tribe and after I saw the different scenes I had to look up the history and everything. We can’t expect to be spoon fed everything. I think we just need to enjoy the movie as a fictional with a bit of a true story behind it.

    I have seen it twice now - on the regular screen and then on GTX.... WOW. You ladies, and gentleman, were unbelieveable!!! I loved every moment.

    This movie moved me in a way that's never been done before. There have been movies where we as "Black" folk have seemingly triumphed, but superficially, and at a compromise that weighed as much as the victory. This movie though...none of that existed! We, and I mean our men and women, triumphed. Period.

      it was a lie ..they bought and traded their own .and others to ..Africa sold the slaves to the ships and one of the very first slave owners in America ..in the south waS black...and NYC had a slave market to ..not just us southerners ...the slaves came in on Northern vessels ...     Watching this movie for the first time and goddamn I'm thrilled to my deepest.
    I can't imagine why it was like back then but I'm glad civilization and equality has changed so much.
    My aunt stays in Oyo and I spend Christmas holidays there ever since I was a kid. Watching this movie as a Nigerian feels different cause I had to learn my country's history from a Hollywood franchise.
    I'll definitely see this film again.

    When I saw the trailer earlier this year I knew I had to see this film and support the cast. Seeing this beautiful cast on screen helped me overcome my fear of being in theaters post Covid. I may treat myself and see the film again 👏🏾👏🏾

    This interviewer was amazing. She made everyone seem comfortable. I felt like I was in a room with family. Everyone was so open and loose. The Woman King was spectacular! I could watch it over and over again. Well done to the whole cast and crew.
