Was hoping we stopped in Thakhek for some food so I could stop by to say hi but we drove through. If it was my own road trip no way I’d come through Thakhek without stopping by sister.😊
At 7:02, Most Asian cultures regard the feet as an insult when pointing to or beside someone. Is this true in Laos? These are very informative videos. Keep up the excellent work.
Thanks! You’re spot on. It’s normally totally unacceptable and rude in Lao culture too. Wouldn’t be anybody putting their feet up on the dash or anywhere else in my car back home either…that’s foul. Who am I to tell a an otherwise absolutely lovely 70 year old woman that’s spent most her adult life in the U.S. what to do. 🤷♂️🤣
By saying hi…but honestly being friendly to everyone I meet in everyday life as you see in all my videos always creates opportunities to have interesting conversations. Now if only I learned it as fast as it seems. 😉
