I totally agree with Bobby here, I feel for him and I think this was brave of him. I just want to make sure that all of the teenage/early 20s spn fans understand that this is not always correct (that kids are supposed to eat your food and break your heart). If your parents gave you love and care while raising you, they deserve some payback. It doesn't have to be a large gesture, just call them at least once a month and show that you care about them. I am not a parent, I am 23 years old but I am just a bit worried that a few people will take this out of proportion and use this philosophy towards their caring parents.

I get what you mean, and I agree with you, people (kids) shouldn't get this out of context and start doing whatever the F they want because "kids aren't supposed to be grateful" and "are supposed to eat your food and break your heart", they need to make an important distinction, Bobby is not talking about kids being dicks or bitches and purposely breaking their parent's heart, he means that kids will naturally do it at some point but that doesn't mean nor give their parents the right to be abusive bastards.
I always thought about it as if Bobby was talking more from the side of the parents when he said this, let me explain:
Most of the times, kids don't fully understand how difficult they were or how much their parents had to work in order to raise them, and it isn't until they become adults that they are able to understand and appreciate more what their parents did for them, but while they are kids, teenagers even, they rarely are able to see things from the parents perspective, which is why they rarely show themselves grateful to the parents.
As a parent, you raise them and guide them through life trying to help them become the best versions of themselves they could be, and whether they want or not, they'll end up "eating your food", which means taking things from you, and "breaking your heart" because of the things they do, or say, or the decisions they make, but as a parent, you can't let that make you give up on them, nor can expect your children to live for you, you aren't supposed to expect things from your kids, like to fulfill your dreams, or fulfill your expectations, or to exist to make you happy, parents are supposed to make their children be their own individuals and help them learn and experience life, so one day they can have their own.
Some parents act as if their kids owe them, something like "I give you food, shelter, get you clothes, it doesn't matter how bad I treat you, you owe me, so you have to be grateful for everything I do for you, and do whatever I say, whenever I say it, why? because you owe me" kind of like Bobby's father here. Some parent act as if their kids are some sort of inversion, they raise the kids to prepare them so one day in the future, they will give them whatever they want, "you know all the things you have managed in life, what you have now, your level of education, your job, it's all because of me, it's time to pay back". In other cases, some parents act as if the kids are their "second chance" at life, "I didn't get to have the life I wanted, I couldn't become a professional soccer player (or whatever floats your boat) so now you will do it for me, you will spend the rest of your life doing what I say and fulfilling every one of my life desires that I couldn't get to myself, and I'll live my dreams through you, so you have to do what I say, and live my dreams, my desires, and you won't question it" kind of like in the typical teenage movies.
There are many cases of parents who take advantage of their positions when raising a kid and sometimes even abuse their kids directly because they feel like they can do whatever they want with the kids and use them to fulfill their own desires and/or perception of things, and I think that's what Bobby was referring to. His father was a drunk abusive bastard who thought he could treat his wife and son whatever way he wanted and they should be grateful for it, so Bobby called him out on it because that's not how parents are supposed to be, he himself raised 2 boys, 2 boys who broke his heart probably more times he could count, 2 boys who constantly got from Bobby everything he had and could give, but those same 2 boys loved Bobby and respected him very much, Bobby was proud of those boys, and he cared for them more than he could express, those same boys had crappy childhoods (just like Bobby) and had a difficult upbringing, their father was either a dick (mostly with Dean) or MIA (as he would be gone often), and Bobby could sympathize with their situations so always tried to be there for them to the point he became a father figure to them, and practically raised them and supported them to save the world.
Bobby, Jody, and Ellen are probably the best parents in supernatural (and honestly, in many tv shows) as they understand this, it doesn't matter how much they argue with their "children", it doesn't matter if their children break their hearts, they still try to protect and guide their children the best they can, and they hope for their children to not only become their best "selfs" but also to have a better life than they did, without forcing their own ambitions onto them, and are willing to sacrifice everything for their children without expecting anything in exchange, knowing that their children love them and respect them is probably the best and biggest reward they could ask for, along with knowing their children will be okay and happy, that's parenthood. It will hurt, of course, it will, whether you want it or not, and no matter how much you try, you will never be 100% on the same page with your children, so heartbreak will come, but happiness and love will also be there, even if difficult, it will be there, and it will be the best thing in the world.

And he didn’t even stop helping. Bobby still kept on helping the boys throughout their adventures until he was eventually taken to hell, and then through Sam, sent to heaven.

My sister punched me so much she broke my glasses and I couldn't move my head, because I didn't want to play just dance with her, and always said I wasn't someone worthe being friends with, and my mom didn't say a thing, but kicked her out when my sister used my mom's make up. My mom gave me and my brother 5 euros to buy food for a week, I would starve cause in the second day my brother had already ate all my food, and I was 12/13 he was 15/16. My mom said she wished she had aborted me because I didn't clean my room, when I didn't have sheets to put on the bed, a pillow, my dad bought and I always lived with my mom, and I didn't even have a dresser, at 15 I saw my grandma die, and I really loved her, at 16 my great grandma died, she was the person I love the most, a at 15, a year ago I lost my only friend cause she left me for a two week friend.
    So what am I now?
