    It is not a town by itself... Used to be a town in Austria-Hungary... It is now a municipality of Belgrade.

    Younger generations here have English from the first grade of elementary school (+many take private classes on top of that) so basically 95% of those under 40 years of age are fluent in English, but older generations had Russian or German during socialist Yugoslavia (but even those with very limited knowledge), only a few of those 50+ actually speak English (I would say 15-20%), usually those with higher University education or those that learned it for work.

      Yes, I can see that. I didn’t experience any issues with anyone not being able to communicate. Just one older lady at a train station kiosk. Sadly many people who don’t know anything about Serbia think that they can’t travel here because of language barriers but it’s just because they don’t know any better. I hope to spread as much positivity about Serbia as I can. I really had a wonderful experience so far 🙏🏽
