it's amazing how little this ride has changed since the early 80's
has it? what way? I was in 1989 but I was a kid... can hardly remember
Adults complain about this ride all the time, but I think Disney keeps it around because 1) Little kids love the opportunity to drive a car and 2) It's a nice way to alleviate crowds. Lots of families with little kids line up for this thing.
I always love that ride but now I am older I grew it out btw I am from Jamaica nice to meet u all I don't really talk in English I usually talk in patois/patwa
It doesn't look like it has changed at all since the early 70's when Disney World first opened. I remember waiting in line and over the loudspeakers it kept repeating "Green light to go, green light go" about every 10 seconds -- hearing that over and over in line drove me crazy. It sounds like they stopped that repeating phrase, and the world is a better place for it.
Just got back from Disney and the one ride I wanted to ride, but didn’t was this. So thanks for the POV!

The one at Disneyland is more interesting, you get to go off roading, more bridges, tunnels & freeway overpasses but I'm partial to this one because of sentimental reasons.

YES !!!! THIS MY FAVORITE RIDE AT DISNEY WHEN I WENT IN 5th GRADE LIKE 18 years ago !!!!!! so sick !!!! my cousin and i ditched my family, he was like 18 or so and i was a kid hahaha but we were vibingggg we all rode magic mountain when we first got there, didnt see our family at the exit, looked for about 2minutes then said "lets rolll" Optimus Prime style and explored the park..it was MAGIC DAWG..then we met up w my family once it started getting dark after stopping at the smoking section, my cousin started smoking halfies out of the ash trey then this lady let us use his phone and he bummed a cig off her, mymom was kinda a bit upset not really but kinda.,met up w my mom and dad and little brother and grand parents aftyer me and my cousin explored the park for like 7 hours riding all the cool rides and we rode this car ride right as it was getting dark and from what i remeber...it was 3x faster than this....disney was the best park ive ever been to hands down..and i live 35min away from cedar point...cedar point has the best roller coasters in the world...but ive been there atleast 30 plus times or so by now and the park just seems kinda to small now..it used to seem huge when i was a kid but Disney is MASSIVE !!!! its endless magicalnessnesssses...we met up w family, did the thing where the lady has u sit in a light on a chair and does the silloute cut out of ur face. it started snowing bubbles at like 10pm...dude. Cedar might have 5x better roller coasters...so what. Disney was magical dawg. MAGICAL...thbat sexy ahss princess from snow white was walking around. i hugged her. it was litter than a titty

Christopher McDonnell it’s actually not lame at all, especially if you have family with you. The ride can be smooth and boring with an adult driving but can also be wild and fun when a child is driving the vehicle. Also the smell of exhaust really gives a classic disney vibe since this is one of the older rides in the park.
Edit: I didn’t realize this was the magic kingdom one, what I said before was purely based off the ride in Disneyland which I have always loved.

They shouldn't replace these diesel cars with electric ones , but use kelp or cooking oil to replace gas.

ALways hated these karts as a kid but always lined up to get on them, always had to smash into the kart ahead of me at the end where the walkover is just to get dirty looks from the cast members. Screw this attraction - take all the speed and fun out of go karting and you have Disney World's Tomorrowland Speedway. Go to Fun Spot in Kissimmee instead
It is quite bad really slow and boring the total opposite of Fun Spot cart track's

Good fun but now out-dated - noisy, clumsy and always long queues. Would be good to get electric cars now....

That's the beauty of it - the noisy gasoline cars. They give the ride its feel and uniqueness. I guarantee that you'll be happy though, since remove that, and you'd also remove the long queues for it.

That's why it's there. It eats up a lot of guests which helps keep crowds down in other areas and little kids love it, because it's noisy and they get to drive cars.

I live in NC... & I know this little dude who's all about his vehicles & such things like that. I think he's even built some pretty amazing things, even at his age. But I don't understand how he's that kind of adrenaline junkie but hates Disney. Like what kid/ person hates Disney? The heat & walking might get annoying but just go watch a show then. Anyways, that little dude... He doesn't even realize how many kids even adults would die to be in his position. Not literally but still. Pshhh at 37, Disney still hasn't got old to me.
