- Erik Anders Lang goes on a Random Golf Club mission up the Hudson River to Sleepy Hollow: A golf club with ties to the Rockefeller and Vanderbilt families and golf course originally designed by C.B. Macdonald and Seth Raynor. A.W. Tillinghast helped expand the course in the 1920's and friend of the show Gil Hanse had a hand in recent renovations.
Erik is joined by Author Tom Coyne who wrote "A Course Called Scotland," where he traveled the Home of Golf from top to bottom playing over 100 links courses.
Jacob from Instagram met Erik for the first time on the first tee of Sleepy Hollow. You may recognize him from the Random Golf Club at Liberty National (shot later), which makes him the first reoccurring character in the series.
Brendan is a close friend of Tom Coyne's who has traveled with him to many golf courses (and even countries) after introducing himself to Tom during a round of golf.
Oh - and don't forget the legend of the Headless Horseman which lends itself to the club's logo today, one of the best in golf.

I love the square cut tee-boxes and how they are perfectly level. Its a small detail that I always enjoy and respect when I play a round at a nice course
Hi Erik, amazing content!! i live in Trondheim Norway and our family runs and english pub who are golf mad!! one of our friends wife and daughter unfortunately got terminal cancer and next year we are doing a 24 hour golf challenge to raise money for them, they are actually half American and half Norwegian from San Diego :) we would love to be able to try and get you over to Norway and come and join in the tournament with us, we can sort out accommodation, the great thing about norway is it never gets dark!! i sore you did a video and went Iceland and it is the same :) If this is something you would be up that would be amazing!! please keep doing the videos amazing content !!
Thank you for all who liked the post, its going to a great cause, the golf course is called Byneset golf club in Trondheim, Norway if anybody is interested in what the course looks like. :)
Good luck, such a sad world at times!
sam butcher thank you mate! We can’t fix it but we can try our best to help!
If Erik cant make it let me know and I'll come up :)
Erik, my man, you single handedly have production that far out weighs your subscribers and I can't see why. Your attitude about golf, and life in general, is admirable, and really inspirational.
You make your audience feel that they are right there with you. Good job Sir!
This video made me want to read Tom's book, 240 pages in, its rad! Another fine nugget handed my way from RGC. Thanks RGC crew and everyone out there!
Finally a video in my neck of the woods! Awesome video Erik hope you're doing great
Great Video Erik, Looked a great round on a superb looking golf course with some very interesting people!
Sleepy Hollow has one of the best logos in golf if you ask me.
Hi Erik, loving your content. This is a great video, love the style and the course looked amazing ⛳
I’m currently reading Coyne’s “Paper Tiger”... Great story and its awesome how you got to meet him
Wow. Tom Coyne. Cool. I read Paper Tiger about ten years ago. Great book. Cool vid, EAL. 👍
Wow! Erik was early for a tee time for once! Great job buddy!
He thought he was late though
Why do you play golf? It's part of who I am, it's my identity. Brilliant answer from Tom. I'm totally with you, I feel the same too. Another amazing course in the states too. You lucky lot...
Eric, I’m absolutely loving your content. I knew I loved Golf but now, thanks to you, I know why. Is there footage of your final day in Scotland at Gleneagles. Can’t seem to find it. Anyway, keep doing what you’re doing mate. It’s beautiful.
These videos are just awesome!
I definitely understand what everyone was saying about 16. As a caddie at a course with a moderately famous signature hole it almost makes people not appreciate the rest of the course sometimes when there are much better golf holes throughout the course.
Niceeeeeee! I asked for more Raynor courses, but a Macdonald one will do!
Great video Erik! I grew up just down the road from this course. Is it just me, or does this one end rather abruptly?
My man, you needed a Tiger mid-round shirt change.😥
I just went to the used book store to see if they had any Doak books at lunch today and there was paper tiger so I bought that cause I read Ireland and then I saw this tonight. Tom coyne ladies and gentlemen!
Hey Colt if you have put down your papers, am applying dude 😂 Working with Erik is the best job one can have man, don't take holidays heheh
BTW i love the Dancing Bear on Jacob's hat!!
so why didn't we see the 16th played?.
Well Now you have to visit another Macdonald/Raynor Course...TPC Old White at The Greenbrier.. Multiple courses to play while you enjoy the Wild and Wonderful Mountains of West Virginia. You should definitely check out Oakhurst Golf Links (First Established Golf Club in America) Where you play with hickory shafts, Calcutta balls, and your tee is a mound of sand. Look forward to your next adventure.
"I honestly like being in trouble. Can't you tell from my game?
...Where'd my ball go?"
Again. I say it once more. Cant believe this content is free
"I honestly like being in trouble. Can you tell by my game?" 😂 room for improvement keeps us all going back out.
Did you scratch the ending? Just ended with 3 holes left.... part 2 coming? What did the dead head finish at?
tom´s got a silky smooth swing
Erik rocking a serious Danny Noonan look here, or is it just me? Also, the next time Erik is NOT late for his tee time will be the first, to my memory...
Stonewall is another hell of a track funny how golf conversation can be
I might have to go back and see how often Erik is late for tee times, ha! Note to self, if ever given the chance to play with Erik, tell him tee time is an hour earlier than it actually is. Got it
EAL, on your next travel to research Las Vegas NV, Royal Links golf course. Replica of the Royal Troons and St. Andrew golf course.
Erik mate, you need to get some sort of high grade anti-perspirant sponsor! I love you btw
Don't sleep on his book "Paper Tiger." Just read it and it was awesome!
Loved G the caddy
Would've been nice to see the green up close..
Is Tom wearing a Royal County Down polo? Player
How do you let him carry 2 bags?
Just a little sweaty there Erik..
Guy reminds me of Heath Ledger in Lords of Dogtown.
Speaking of Scotland itself; when is the next episode of the (Un)Official guide to Scotland?
Seriously. All this talk about “the signature hole”. And u cut me off. Feel like I have blue balls on this one. Nice work. Definitely going to wonder. Not even going to look it up. That way I get that feeling of relief when the balls get their release. Look what u do keep them come.
moisture wicking golf shirt bro...... will change your world
tom coyne is a member at my course
Same dude from Ferry Point?
I play here for high school golf 😂
Just the front nine though!! So I've never played the signature hole!
Tom it the goat
“Where is my ball? I mean I hit the shit out of it...”
I just paused the video and bought A Course Called Ireland.
Maybe I don't know what conducive means
If you sweat that much..... I couldn’t imagine what the caddie was going through
Anutha 1
Me, a Texan, saying "six iron" to see if he's right about the accent. He's right.
Tom Coyne Author= Tom Coyne breaking sawgrass???
Same guy! Tom is simply the best 🙌🏼
"A lot of great courses in Philly" said no one ever lmao.
"'A lot of great courses in Philly' said no one ever lmao," said the guy who's never played any of them.
Merion..Aronomink..Pine Valley...Phila Cricket Club...said no one. Obviously you are CLUELESS about the Philadelphia area
Did Everyone after go have a soy latte?
As an amateur I could not have anyone carrying my bag unless its my dad or a mate. I just dont seem right paying for someone to carry the bag. 😂
Ah, the Vanderbilts. Had a South Australian piano tuner flown to the Hamptons to tune a piano in their mansion that Liberace was playing for an in house party. Then he went and played this course, then flew home...well paid. Life couldn't be better.
a couple of good questions don't make an interesting golf vlog. We who have never played there... what do we learn from this? Mostly that you're having a good time, almost nothing about the course
I think you are watching the wrong channel my guy
Your swing is pretty solid, your game inside 100 yards must be embarrassing tho if you actually are a 5/6 hcp..... good videos tho for the most part, quite enjoyable aside from the super played out “my guy” stuff
you won’t pin this comment
you will never lose your virginity
Erik, I have no idea why your fashionably late for all your golf adventures. I smoke ridiculous amounts of weed before and during and I make on time.
Missed opportunity. More focus next time on an amazing course like that. Guests were boring
the guests help tell a story.....agree to disagree
EAL----Pards, do us a solid and shave every 5-6 days and catch a trim on the mop every 6 weeks. You can do that! Sorry, but you can't grow a beard, your face looks like a bad muni course after no rain for 6 months.
Trust me , show something besides a HOBO outlook, and the true respect you obviously have for the game will show. Probably double or triple your followers. Your content is superb, Take on the look of a real disciple that we all know you are!!
