Were stunning the styling especially the last 4wd model. Pity they didn't underseal them well. The saab 95 and 850 R volvo were up there too man. Loved the Carlton
Dream car i hope to own a cosworth 1 day. 80s and 90s was the time for cars i would do anything to go back for a day. Blasting around the streets in a cossie
Ford always have this habit of making fantastic videos that are so good infact, an 18 man on his computer will sit here crying in amazement... Thank you FordHeritage for uploading this....
Sounds like you had a beautiful car. These are super rare now, Cosworths could smash exotic supercars, this era of car, powerful engine and pure driving pleasure, will never return to our roads sadly.
this is an 88 sapphire cossie which is RWD! it was only later that the created the animal brother, the 4x4. there is an obvious difference, as the 4x4 carries a badge that says it is.
It makes the car look good! Quite a common technique in TV advertising (certainly at the time) (not that its a bad looking car to start with) The end shot of the Sierra going into what appears to be a stone barn or something (or even "The Great Pyramid of Dagenham") is quite atmospheric. It just disappears. Maybe its not that deep but the driver drives towards the end of the building and switches the lights off just at the point of stopping giving the illusion that the car just drives on into darkness.
@@sanchoodell6789 Commercials (or adverts) in the 80s were frequently art, and I miss it. Whether for cars, fragrances, or candy bars (see the late 80s Nestle commercials), they frequently went for this surreal, otherworldly quality, and very effectively too.
The Sapphire Cosworth and the Lotus Carlton were the two for me. What a time to witness and experience these cars.

Still have ours from new. A J plate (92) 4x4. Still only 39k on the clock. Amazing car, and will be in the family for a long time to come.

some magnificent cars from
that era. 👌
this is just one of them
This is also one of the last 1980s cars to be born during the leaded fuel era.
These cars were and are incredible I would love to get another one getting harder to find decent one now that’s under 20k to buy best colour by far.
What a car
I dreamed of one of these as a kid.
A guy who lives down my road has a gunmetal grey 4x4 cosworth, the turbo sounds sooooo good.
Wish ford world make something like this again rwd saloon, shame they are only concentrating on dull suvs and little hatchbacks
It is awd turbocharged sedan
@@zepter00 awd was an option
@@zepter00 the earlier one's were rwd and then later a 4wd came out with bonnet vents and a stronger 200 engine block.
@@richarderrington9478 Yeah Maybe but Sierra had alsomany 4WD versions without turbo like XR4i or 2.016V with 4x4
A Beautiful Car 🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️
Saw a 4x4 Cosworth today :)
Those who ever have had a genuine Sapphire should still remember the characteristic noise of the stock gas pump !!!!
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz💪
I was 14 years old...and my dad bought a 1.8 gl in 1987.... 😤😤😤😁🇫🇷

the best
The 1988 Sapphire Cosworth 2wd had a 0-60 time of 5.8 sec(AutoCar 1988)
gotta love the signal at 1:00 reason she's still on the roads
What is song
I want to import one of these so bad.
Gran bella auto ottima ingenieria
I WISHD ID HAD CAR LIKE THAT SOME DAY AND A BLACK ONE AND TWO GREEN ONES

That's only half of the promo video, there was more than that in the original.
Very nice car
@kazimann Yes that would surely be cool .
Yes...
Mmmmm best colour too
Interesting fact the Ford Sierra was marketed in North America as the Merkur XR4TI
It nad rather lazy 2,9v6 not 2.016v Turbo.
@@zepter00ya dont seem to no much about sierras do you.

Name of music????????????????????????
Também queria saber o nome da música.
Aqui também usaram parte dela pra anunciar o ford verona 1993
where is the landscape?
It was filmed in the Auvergne area of France - near Saint-Julien-de-Jordanne and Le Mont Dore.
Verona teve inspiração no Sierra.
SIERRA COSWORTH!!!!!!!!!!!
قوة
Name of music?
The music used for the Ford promotional films was licenced by the production company and we rarely have a record of what was used we're afraid
@kazimann Because it would still be a mondeo
GREAT CAR!
But I don't understand what is thet thing in the fog at 1:42 and 2:53.
That is of course the Great Pyramid of Dagenham!

Its biggest problem was, it was a Ford.
Hahaa... .

Seriously overpriced and overrated now. Was good once but not now
