This is the first video on my channel featuring a pail flush toilet. Fixtures Royal Tern Maya (pail flush) (unknown date) Upload Date: October 24, 2023
Tank toilets are more expensive there and many people living in the Philippines don't have a lot of money. It's also typical to have pail flush toilets.
Very unusual to have a "London Trap" Forward Trap Washdown toilet bowl with no tank or flushometer (not even a spud to fit one) - instead you have to flush it using a small pail bucket which is fine just to flush liquids but anything else maybe not so as there is a risk of clogging (a bigger pail bucket may do the job better but still a messy way of flushing a toilet as I heard some water from the current pail went onto the floor).
A lot of these bathrooms double as showers (not at restaurants of course) so they are designed so water can get on the floor and not be an issue. It is common for bathrooms to have wet floors there.
Waterless urinals are far worse because they don't get any water in them at all. Pail flush toilets do use water but someone has to physically put water in them for them to flush. That would be the main difference.
I wouldn't be able to lift that entire trash can plus then there wouldn't be any for the rest of the people there. It would be more convenient to have a bigger scoop though.
Very interesting and strange restroom, a bucket for a sink is very weird the royal tern (I think that’s what it says) is incredible but no flushometer or tank appears to exist for some reason I think they prefer to save water. I wonder what the gecko unless it’s a lizard or iguana at 1:30 thinks of this weird setup
These are called pail flush toilets and they are not connected to water. You simply just take it a scoop and dump water in it to flush. I bet the lizard thinks that there will be bugs around it and I think he would be correct.
A big thanks for your vidéo 😊
You're welcome!
What? What a unique toilet.
It's my first Royal Tern
Well, they have running water for the bucket how about hooking up a tank and waterline to the toilet itself?
Tank toilets are more expensive there and many people living in the Philippines don't have a lot of money. It's also typical to have pail flush toilets.
Very interesting....
These are pretty typical in the Philippines
Rare but amazing toilet!
It's pretty neat!

That's definitely weird
It's pretty typical for the Philippines but weird to see as a Westerner.
I would dump the whole bucket

This is just a traditional filipino bathroom, you use the bucket to make it flush,
Yep, I saw a number of these.
Where's the sink....
There is no sink
At least there's a Bible verse
That's always nice. Nice music too.
Oh my !!
It's a modest but well kept bathroom.
no toilet seat????1?1?1?11
And no tank?!?!?!
No seat and no tank aren't uncommon for the Philippines
did you make it siphon by pouring the whole bucket in there?
I couldn't make this one siphon.
Interesting but
WHERE IS THE TOILET SEAT
AND TANK?!?!
There is no tank, no flushometer, and no toilet seat. There is also no sink.
@@OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations No nothing except toilet
Pretty strange bathroom but rare
It's pretty typical in the Philippines but strange for a lot of other places.
Is this an Asian Restaurant?
It is an Asian restaurant... a restaurant in Asia.
@@OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations I can tell because Asians mostly use a bucket and a scooper usually
Which country are you in?
I'm in the country celebrating its independence today.
@@OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations The United States?
@@erikbrickman4461 Yep. But this was filmed in the Philippines.
Why does that even exist, it looks very pathetic
Because it's cheap
This is weird 😂😂😂
This is pretty common for the Philippines and probably some other parts of Asia but it would be weird to see one of these in America.
