  • United States Bicentennial coinage is heavily collected with survival estimates for the 1976-D Quarter at over 77 million in mint state alone. However, a much scarcer variety of the Bicentennial Quarter exists showing doubling on the obverse.

I have a Bicentennial Quarter that has an error on the reverse, the letters ITED in United are all connected
at the top but can`t find anyone mentioning this kind of error also have one that has doubling on United
    States of America.

I have one of these, I just can't afford to have it graded currently. Still one of my favorite finds.

Hi PCGS, if I send this bicentennial for grading regular standard service,Will it come back graded and attributed as a DDO automatically? Or I need to pay for grading and pay an extra fee for any variety attribution?? I ask this because recently I sent 4 1971-D Friendly Eagle 🦅 variety Eisenhower Dollars and they just came back graded with out any FS-901 or Friendly Eagle attribution/ mention on the label🤔? By knowing this you can save collectors money not needing to send twice a coin for attribution.

You have to select variety attribution on the submission form and pay for the service if you have the variety. Otherwise they will not look for or attribute the variety. The only exception I know to this would be a very major variety like a 1955 1c DDO or if the variety is part of the standard designation of the coin like an 1814 1c plain 4 vs crosslet 4. Best course of action for getting a variety on the slab is when in doubt, put it on the form.
