20 Years ago today!
Great memories
“They daren’t catch me! They almost did, but they didn’t, and it’s gold for Great Britain”
It's the torso that matters. I remember being 13 or so watching this, not knowing the rules and I didn't understand why Greene lost 'cause his foot went over the line first.
Fabulous memories, tear in my eye the boys done Good
Been searching for this version of the race forever. Thanks you very much!
Golden era for all sports for me. Everything felt massive
Great job by this GB foursome; although no one could have known it at the time, this turned out to be the last Olympics at witch the once dominant USA's mens 4x100 relay would receive a medal of any color. 4 consecutive Olympics and counting - it may very well be a good 20 years+ before the USA men win Olympic gold in this event given the rise of other nations at this particular discipline.
This was the last time a nation other than Jamaica won Olympic gold for this event and it was my nation:)
dcvbhtrdf and now we've done it again. Funny world. All be it was the world championships.
That's only 2 Olympics; Delusions of Grandeur?
dcvbhtrdf we did it again in 2017! :-)
Yes but jamaica is finiahed. USA is back. Jamaica made hiatory wirh Bolt but that is what Jamaica ia now. HISTORY when it comes to the 4X1 for men and women. Amd mens 100. Shelly or elaine may take the womens 100
Great Britain used to get like 8 medals at the Olympics, now it's over 100
Sweaty palms every time I watch this haha, Devonish to MLF was just electrifying
This race was amazing.
Also, how lovely it is to hear Brendan Foster again.
Amazing moment but every time I watch this I think Greene has got him
What acceleration by Maurice green. Sometimes us Americans can be to arrogant and think we’ve won already. Great race
One of my all time favourite Olympic moments
Watch and learn kids. That's a perfectly executed 4x100m baton exchange.
08:21 - That has to be the best baton handover I have ever seen.
One of my all time favourite moments in sport. I remember me and my family all screaming Lewis-Francis on down that last 100m and us all jumping around like mad when we won it.
still one of my favourite sporting moments ever.
Perfect race. After all these years still goose bumps.
PERFECTLY LUCKY
i don,t know if its about being British or just that they on paper should,nt have won,but who can watch this without feeling huge pride and not feel there eyes getting wet......good on you lads, never ever underestimate a hungry under dog
