Hi friends! Not your typical video here but I’m so excited to share my new Vlog camera. I know most of you aren’t into tech but I think this camera is a great vlogging camera for those that want to improve their image quality on their videos so I thought I would share my first impressions in hopes to help other new creators. Regular VLOGS coming back next week!
This was an awesome video. Thank you for creating this! The only thing holding me back are the things I’ve been hearing about it overheating 😓 Have you had any issues yet?
Customizing all the buttons and looking over the menus and filming yesterday, I didn't have any issues. Camera didn't really get hot either but I was only filming short clips (longest was 3 minutes). Hoping it can withstand SoCal summers 🤞🏼
I've just paused at 2:04 and noticed your dog is wearing a donut hahaha, I hope the puppers is alright. Okay, back to the video. Great testing of the camera, I really want to get one but alot of negative reviews about it with it over heating I guess thats if you're videoing for a long period of time
lol - she's good, she was spayed a few days prior to filming that, thanks for asking :) So far no overheating for me but I've been shooting indoors most of the time. Summer in SoCal will be the real test, but also, my clips are pretty short.
Hi, thanks for the video! Would you recommend the zve10 + 11mm lens combo vs zv1 mark ii for sit down videos? I'm interested in something that would be flattering to my face and was wondering if you could give any recs. Thanks!
Hey! Between those two, the zve10 + 11mm is the way to go. The quality will be much better because of the larger sensor and the lens. And that's the lens I use so the quality will be similar.
Hi Mikee, new tech! Mind blowing! What’s going on with Aiko! That thing around her neck? Hero napping Lol to cute 🥰 have a great weekend til next time ✌🏼✌🏼
Hey Dee! Aiko was spayed on Monday. She’s doing great. She came home as if nothing happened. We were a bit shook at how normal she seemed right after surgery 🤣 and we are using this blow up collar vs the cone for comfort so she doesn’t get at her sutures.
Great review, Mikee! I really like this camera, especially the auto-framing feature. I've been thinking about getting another vlogging camera too. We use the GoPro and I like it because of how tiny it is. I think this Sony is a nice size still. Have fun vlogging with it! 😊
I see that even if you switch to Dynamic and using Sony 11mm lens. when you have a saddle movement. the black vignetting still going to come in. What is the lens that stays on your ZV-E1 most of the time? is it the 16-35 F4 G lens?
Hey! I'm using the 11mm exclusively still. I do notice it creeping up big time when I'm panning quickly. Walking forward, it works great. So when I am panning and the vignette shows up, I crop in post sometimes. I'm just Vlogging too so I'm not super worried about it and wouldn't recommend using this. Hope this helps!
Hi there. Not sure I’ll get it to overheat with how I shoot. I shoot 4k 24 and rarely shoot longer than 10 minutes. But with that said, based on other reviews I’ve seen… if you need to shoot 30 minute clips at a time, this camera is probably not for you
With active on, all Sony cameras have a crop factor of 1.2 and I believe dynamic has a 30% crop so I'm thinking around 14mm-ish. You can still do clear image zoom in active but not dynamic. Pretty cool to be able to use tiny lenses.
@@MikeeRogerseven with dynamic stab, the angle still so wide, wow. I think this lens only work with dynamic stab because in active stab it have weird black vignetting
I have not yet because I've only been shooting short clips. My only concern is gonna be during the summer outside. It can reach into the 90s where I live but then again, when it's that hot I usually stay in lol.
Great video! Just noticed we have the same mouse/keyboard/Studio Display set up and also i'm using the A7 IV and want this for the same reason! Subbed!
Nice setup! Haha, thanks for the sub! I just checked out your channel, subbed as well! This would be perfect for all your traveling! Well, I say that now but I haven’t really tested this out in the real world during summer but from what I’ve seen and read, as long as you aren’t doing 30 minute clips (and who does that lol) you’ll be ok.
agreed on no real users posting reviews yet, i own many sony cameras and have videos on them as a normal user/nerd. Just started uploading videos on this one on some of the more useful tricks on how to use it for both photo and video. Doing real overheating tests now to figure out what works and what not (in webcam mode for example). And using different more useful lenses like you are.
@@MikeeRogers Please do yesterday i already posted many tricks for photo and i am now uploading first video on overheating first results and tricks and talk more about what ill do next. Over last 7 years i made 500ish videos including many on overheating as i will explain. Have fun with your zv-e1.
So Jelly! Thats a beautiful camera! I got the Canon M200 this last Christmas and I wish I would have looked further into all the reviews because it's sound quality for vlogging is terrible and it's next to impossible to add a mic to it, but it was on sale and I just went with it!... (For a vlogging camera you would think the sound quality would be a big factor in the build of the camera). I love my Canon T Rebel 6 but it's a beast to carry around for videos, it's more for photography.
Have you looked into the Sony ZV-1? It’s the little sibling that came out before this and I’ve heard good things about it and you can find a great deal second hand. I do love this camera though, it’s a beast in such a small package but also a bit overkill for my simple vlogs lol. But I had a lot of gear to sell that I didn’t use to fund so I said why the heck not! Also! You should check out a GoPro too! My friends use it to vlog their new adventure in Hawaii. Check them out: Overjoyed on Oahu. I’m genuinely impressed with the video quality and sound and plus, would be awesome for hiking and on the go since the stabilization is so good.
Ooh, I wonder how that will look - seems like a pretty cool idea to use it on! You can change how much it crops in which is nice too. So I'm thinking a smaller crop might work well for dancers.
@@MikeeRogers well these new Sony autofocus can even track when dancers turn around. Because it treats people like stick figures. Unfortunately the dance competitions ended this week which is when I got the camera. So I haven’t been able to test. But I have fashion shoot so maybe I’ll test in gimble
As I was editing, I thought to myself that I should have filmed more normal vlog stuff around the house but I got too excited to edit the video... As I was editing I thought wow, this footage is so smooth! I honestly probably will never even run with this camera so not sure why I tested that 😂😂
Hey! Technically you can use apsc in 4k, that’s what this vlog was filmed in. But yes, you get a bit vignetting and micro jitters but my vlogs are personal and not films so I don’t mind it so much especially when the kit becomes so small and light with the apsc lenses. A sacrifice I’m willing to live with
Appreciate the comment! I could never justify a A7Siii when it released since I just do video for fun so I never had first hand experience with the power of this sensor. Crazy stuff! And to have it fit in the palm of my hand, a bit mind blown.

No problem, appreciate you tuning in!
THIS WAS SUCH A USEFUL VLOG/summary for bloggers, thank you 💗💗

The bathroom test was really good. Got mine yesterday and switching from fx30. Its soooo light and easy to use.
Right!? The form factor is what sold me!
Awesome and creative "Human" right here! Solid review, Mikee! I'm always impressed by your work ethic! God bless!

Good Afternoon, the camera is great, thanks for sharing. Nice purchase.
Thanks Olivia, hope you have a great rest of your week!
Wow, looks so good! Sony for the win 🥇
What is the material from which the Sony ZV-E1 is made? Polycarbonate or metal (magnesium or aluminum)?
Hey there, I'm actually not sure. I'm gonna assume a mix of both as I know the body is made from magnesium alloy.

I love my ZVE1 😍 so smart and so good quality 👍🏻 although I have a bigger FX6 😂
FX6 is a dream! Even though I'm not a filmmaker 😂
Still waiting for my zv-e1 to arrive 😢 video footage looks awesome especially when it was pitch black in the bathroom. Still was usable video. 👍
I was debating about pre-ordering and decided to chance it locally. Our local camera store had just one in stock. Hopefully you get yours soon!
