Thank you for posting this, a lot of artists don't think charcoal and graphite can be used together. They need to understand as long as the graphite is applied lightly the charcoal can still be laid down over it.
I've seen many videos of hyperrealistic as well as drawn a lot. Is it the camera pixles that makes the art look realistic because the 300 bristol isn't a shiny finish like all The videos shown on RUclips. It's more dull no matter how much it's layered.
Unfortunately you sped through a lot of your process....not sure if this was meant to be instructional...but it fails on that front....regardless....great work
Great video and superb skill but with all due respect it was more of a how to shade video than how to actually build skin texture. The main part of building the skin texture was not in the video at all.
@@eddiemcgrath8536 to an extent, even in hyperrealism a lot of the texture will come down to the paper used when working in graphite. Obviously wrinkles, hairs and noticeable pores will be rendered but large flat tones with light variation in texture is a weakness of graphite and a lot of your work will be simply to suggest shape.
@@elhomo6406 Not in any hyper-realistic work I've ever seen or done. Only smooth paper gives the ability for those tiny little details and subtle gradients that realism requires. While cold press or rougher textured papers can produce some nice drawings, I doubt it would be hyper realism. If you have a link to show me then I would very much like to see what you mean, or perhaps a link to your own work in hyper realism? This particular artist I've seen in his videos going to great length drawing in tiny details either before or after his values, its not the paper creating them.
Hi Jeffrey, What's the smallest portrait someone can do and still get that kind of detail ie. would someone be able to do a typical 8 by 10 that people get done in photography? Also, have you considered starting a Patreon Instructor site? I'm sure you'd have plenty of students sign-up. Cheers from Canada!
hey man......it was amazing, you know amazing I do appreciate your hard work i always stuck in this part ( the skin tone one). BTW I love it and ya obviously I'm gonna try this one
I’m guessing he is using the gray stick’s power bc he is using that brush in 2 different sections but getting different shades of gray.. I just went & looked at what he used in this

It reminded me of the "How to Draw an Owl" meme.
Step 1: Draw some circles
Step 2: Finish the fricken owl
lol
your work is amazing. i have the focus of a flea
I never thought about using a brush! What kind do you use?
Your art so amazing. Thank for sharing! 😇
How do you shade the skin so smoothly do you use little pressure with a soft brush a nd do you t ap off some of the graphite before shading?
Stunning, thanks for the tutorial Jeff ❤️
New skill learnt Today.... thanks mate
Awesome video man this has really helped!
That's really difficult..💯.. great!
What do you use for very dark areas or black areas?
Great video and superb skill but with all due respect it was more of a how to shade video than how to actually build skin texture. The main part of building the skin texture was not in the video at all.
Yes. I was looking for the same, but couldn't find 😞
A lot of it will really just come down the the paper used. The more tooth, the more texture.
@@elhomo6406 not in hyperrealism

Jeffry appaitu, you are great artist, I know that, I'm not talented like you but I am working hard to become great artist like you.
Artist Bhupinder Singh You need skill, not talent, to draw the way he does. It’s something you can learn as well, dont give up.
@@Ash-se6gh yeah a skill ofcourse. Yeah I am learning.
Bhupinder. Don't be so hard on yourself. You'll only get better and better.
U did nt shown all process
Which brushes do you use? pls
Do you use normal graphite powder
What paper you use for such hyperrealistic drawing
I think it's bristol it's really smooth, I don't like too smooth paper, jono dry uses fabriano paper
You're literally the best realistic artist on RUclips but so underrated
No

Awesome

Hmm, maybe he’s using gray sticks
🤔 🤷🏽♂️
The different values come from layering, and adding more graphite powder, I thought.
How do you dislike a video like this 😑
It's not tutorial 😀
This teaches nothing just fast speed in poor light
Awesome
