Hi, Mike. Yup that really has helped me. I just bought a Golden Eagle Mark IV radio, that someone took parts out of, and I see that I don't have the wire screen cover in the receiver, I will have to get one. Thank you so much 🎙️
Mike-thank's for a great group of video's Remember,as soon as that cover comes off you risk a load of broken cores or even worse electrocuted CB-ers The problem is they may blame you !! Thank's once again
Bless your heart. Thank you for not making some irritating music video or some silly introduction. You and fine tune CB repairs are the only two I watch. Much appreciated you get down to business.
I remember years ago when some folks using Browning Eagles would connect a small electrolytic capacitor between the B+ feed line to the receiver off the T/R relay to chassis ground so the receiver would mute relatively slowly instead of being instantly cut off when the PTT is pushed, and the transmitted signal had that touch of fading feedback 'key-up beep' while that added cap discharged into the receiver, and then the CB'er would start talking with that powerful modulation. :-)
Yea for instance my Tram Titan II is a one box tube radio with a spot switch. Tube radios are fun but if you use 'em you do need to familiarize yourself with them because you're gonna be needing to "tune 'em up" now and then. Like my Tram needs to have the final peaked every few months or so, it'll go from a 3.5 watt dead-key down to 2 and I'll have to re-peak it.
Nice Mike...is it my imagination or are the receiver's control knobs on upside down? The set screws appear to be on top and maybe the indicator lines on the bottom?
Fantastic video!! Thanks for sharing!
yes I've got a Mark 3 and that's a very good explanation didn't really know a lot about them to you explained everything in detail.

Paul at Mr Carlsons Lap he charged a cap to 500v and after 2 months it still had over 450 volts.

Do you need a dummy load to do this?

I have a 23 channel Royce. Works ok but needs a tune up. Are you familiar with this radio and should I bother with getting it aligned.
Very clean and low miles.

They are on correctly. They actually have two set screws and there is a line on the outside edge of the knobs.
Guess it wasn't apparent to me in the video...I thought they might have had two set screws.
Do you work on ham radios as well mike?
Dude, can you go 30 seconds without giggling?
