This is great. Thanks for your time and sharing the Galaxias walkthrough. This video makes me want to get more into it. I've had it quite some time. This is way better than I thought. It would be even better if we can use it as a plugin within our D.A.W. Thanks so much again.
Very reminiscent of Analog Lab, but better. Very nice! Would be great if you could use this software to access your Roland lifetime licences, without a subscription to the Roland Cloud. Thanks Nu-Trix for the review.
When will we get it for the DAW? Also, please ask them to set it up like Komplete Kontrol with respect to unlimited midi mapping. Native Instruments has failed and Galaxias would make a great replacement if they expanded beyond 8 macros.
I remember in the late 80's actually layering real synths X3-4 synths with Class A effects and compressors and getting really big, punchy sounds. So this plug in makes it possible today in a computer without all that gear. But if you think about it, this is a redo of what we could do 30 years ago! Only I suppose cheaper perhaps and in less space.
I think the one problem is that even on a fast computer patches load relatively slow. i also wish there were separate play buttons for each device slot would make it good for live or jamming sessions. i cannot find your full tutorial video but i look forward to it....there is a lot to get lost in
Roland GALAXIAS- this is insane. I want to know more and how much all this cost? I'm researching all this. After research, I see a Life time Key with no price. I believe this will get very expensive. Great video
Took me almost 3 hours to get it all....But Spoiler Alert. You can minimize the overkill by just loading your Zenology and all the patches. Ignore the SRX and VST Originals, (except the Drum Machines ) I testet it: All the Patches that comes with the digital Clones, all the SRX and other Expensions are available in Zenology too and really sound exactly the same. Terefore you save 50% Memory and 1000% "searching the perfect Sound" Rabbithole. ;-)
I wonder if they will later expand this to handle 16 tracks in a scene like on Fantom/Fantom-0. Then again, once this works as a VST you can just add multiple instances. I wonder how long it will take to release it as a VST? Also, will they sell a lifetime license for it? I'd rather that, than have to pay $20/month forever. I have Pro Cloud right now, and don't want to double that amount just to get this.
I’m guessing the Fantom should have it own editor like the Jupiter x but I have no info on this. Galaxias has just been released, in further updates I’m expecting it to be available for more people (other memberships or lifetime) but I’m just guessing.
When you think about it: With the ultra Membership (or "just" the Pro) and ca. 500 Euro for a good refurbished Workstation like a HP Z or Dell...you habe a Fantom. And I really think of seperating one of my PCs in my DAW Network for just that. (Running 2 ancient HP Z's with Dual Xenon, and 2 Dell i5 for Tools that need AVX Cpus like Massice X) in an Audio Gridder Network.)
Can it be a stand alone plug in? Or do you have to be on Roland's cloud service? I ask this as a Reaper DAW user on Linux. Windows VSTs can be made to work in that setup for example. Not sure about this though. Anyone ?
For now... While we can’t yet provide an exact date, it’s going to be soon. GALAXIAS plug-in support is currently well into development and testing, and we hope to make it available before the end of the year. Stay tuned!
@@RolandCloudnice! Just to check - would this be only for subscribers or would it work for those who have lifetime keys? I have 6 lifetime keys and some packs, but don’t subscribe currently, so am wondering if this would work with what I have. Thanks!
Basically, but with no nks (native instruments) and no midi controller to preview sounds... plus it's not yet a VST so like a 50% version of arturia maybe 🤔
@vaiman7777 I subscribed and yes it's VERY different. The sounds are great and super quality, arturias got good sound but their Juno and jupiter knock offs don't compare at all to the original sound of the roland. I bought all the Vst 4 arturia so that's where the initial observation came from. But the quality 👌 is like mama secret sauce spaghetti recipie!!! Good till u can't Take it anymore! Thanks for the reply!
@@CultureKpr Yeah they’re spot on sound wise. 👌 For the price I feel you get a great amount. Great time to be a musician I say. Have fun and a great 2024!
Great video. It's a shame that this software is only for Ultimate subscribers. It looks like Roland starting from high end customers first. Fantom EX not Fontom 0 Series, now Galaxias. I'm Fantom 0 series user and a RolandCloud Pro subscriber and only thing I can do is upgrade. What standing behind this philosophy? I don't know. Shame 😞😞😞😞😞😞😞😞
Interesting, I’m sure UVI Falcon already does layers in a much better way and is way more flexible. But full credit to Roland. Be good if they offered something at a lower price without subscribing to Roland cloud. Great to see what different manufacturers are coming out with. Choice is always good 👍🏼
@@pdmidipd_patch7476 Interesting. I just checked it out. I remember why I shied away from them. I just don't get the "Core, Pro, Ultimate" routine. For orchestral samples, it makes sense. For a synth... it's too much. I don't even want to download the cloud manager and start going through the headache of it all. I think they should just play it straight. @@Nu-trix Hopefully so brother. Aturia has this down to a science and I'm evaluating weather I need Zenolgy anymore as I already own the Roland Fantom.
I have roland cloud ultimate why would i pay 199 a year again just for a search engine front end for the instruments? Is this a DAWless roland instrument layering system, is it even a plugin for your DAW. I already layer sounds midi channels in ableton why do i need this for 199? At least arturia made analog lab free with pay once v collection 9. Roland are so greedy paying twice so 398 a year just for an analog lab style search front end. In 5 years you could have paid outright for a massive collection of spitfire plugins in that same time period. Quite shocking marketing😂
No offence, but can you actually play keyboards? Any chord progressions or melodies? You never play anything in any of your videos, you're always just holding one note, switching presets and talking. How can you "demo" synths if you never actually play them?
I never found myself to be a great player. I’m playing by ear and spend more time programming my sequence than playing them. I’ll work on more playing live next time.
unfortunately cloud based, therefore not so interesting, besides that only available with ultimate cloud version, so you have to spend at least 200 $ a year just to be able to use Galaxias. There are far too many cloud-based subscriptions, so what are these companies thinking - how many more subscriptions should we sign up for?
Thank you for the great walkthrough Nu-Trix!

The Zenology patches using Zencore engine should be transferable to other Zencore devices.
For what I know, the Patches from Galaxias cannot be exported to hardware devices.
