@dodeedo1000 or anyone else who has this exact dimmer (EHMANN T26.07 model 2620X0700) .... If you turn it on and then unplug it from the wall and then plug it in again, will it automatically turn on or will you have to manually press a button on it to turn it on again? And another question: If you turn it on so that the bulb is lit and you then unscrew the bulb and then screw it back in, will it continue to work or will you have to manually press the button on the dimmer to turn it on again? And a third question: If you set the dimmer to the minimum power so that the bulb is dim, and you then turn it off and then on again, will the bulb turn on ?
An interesting thing: this is apparently a Leading-edge dimmer. Leading-edge dimmers are known to be regular halogen (non-LED) dimmers which are incompatible with LEDs. Here's what a PDF document from HQ easy life solutions says: "It is crucial to realise that only trailing edge dimmers are suitable for dimmable LED lamps. Trailing edge dimmers are electronic dimmers, which are marked with RC or RLC. Leading edge dimmers (marked with R or R,L) on the other hand, are completely incompatible with dimmable LED lamps. At first, they seem to be working fine but, passing enormous peak currents onto the LED lamp, they will eventually shorten the lifespan of both lamp and dimmer. Electronic dimmers are more expensive since they incorporate a technique which is more advanced."
It is important to have an led rated dimmer as well. Halogen dimmers are typically rated 20-250W. When you put a 7W led lamp on it it is too low a wattage and the dimmer senses no load and shuts down then powers up and repeats. This results in the lamp flashing
Very helpful, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Where can I purchase the dimmer you use in this video?

The switch is a proper one so if unplugged it powers up in the same state as it was left in
