    Having watched this, and seeing the level of care which goes into it, I can say that would very much like a set of hammers, and other tools, like this for my jewellers bench.
    Because, what would be better than making art, with art?

    • @ianz28
      @ianz28 5 лет назад

      Mani Wasaki wow you are completely right. Ive never done any metal work. But I’ve watched other forgers twist and then fold their metal for patterns. Would have turned this piece into a completely different animal.
      Would it be beneficial? Or is that just artistic?

    • @MrShinta786
      @MrShinta786 5 лет назад

      @@ianz28 I think, the twist will add strength, just imagine it to be a bunch of metal pieces together without welding or forging. The straight ones will fall apart, the twisted ones will help each other to stay together. So I'm assuming, it will be beneficial

    • @THESLlCK
      @THESLlCK 3 года назад

      @@ianz28 yes, but every layer added and every twist added is only incremental strength added. This hammer is already not able to be broken by the force of any human using it. Even the handle couldn't be crushed, everything is compact and solid. It would last a solid 150 years before refurbishing or retirement, depending on how well the wood holds up. I just saw a video last month of a post digger from 120 years ago still being used by a construction worker, original wood and all. It's all about construction quality.

    I didnt known you could use coffee for the pattern

    • @EarlyBirdArms

      I guess any acid would work. I’ve used mustard before. Coffee seems like a waste and I don’t even like coffee haha, if I was doing metal etching I’d use vinegar or lemon juice. Something I could find without having to mix anything and I assume I could just cap the container and re use it. Unlike coffee seems like it wouldn’t have a good shelf life haha

      Coffee etching helps dye the none 15n20 steel a darker could. The 15n20 resists it due to the high nickel content.

      @@ajithjames5919 there many knife smiths that use a coffee etch as a secondary etch after using ferric chloride as a primary etch. The coffee etch makes some metals stand out more than the ferric chloride does.
