- Lyrics:
[ACCORDIAN PLAYER]
Lovers!
[LADY FLOWER SELLER]
Ooh La La!
[SOPHIE]
Welcome, my friends, to Paris.
Here, have a flower on me.
Forget where you're from.
You're in France!
Children, come!
I'll show you that French joie de vivre!
Paris holds the key to your heart.
And all of Paris plays a part.
[ACCORDIAN PLAYER AND FLOWER SELLER]
Just stroll two by two
Down what we call "la rue"
[SOPHIE AND ALL]
And soon all Paris
Will be singing to you!
Ooh La La
Ooh La La
Ooh La La!
[MAURICE CHEVALIER]
Paris holds the key to l'amour!
[FREUD]
And not even Freud knows the cure.
[AVIATOR]
There's love in the air!
[JOSEPHINE BAKER]
At the Follies Begere!
[ARTISTE]
The French have it down to an art!
[ALL]
Paris hold the key to your heart!
[SOPHIE]
When you're feeling blue
Come to Le Moulin.
When your heart says don't,
The French say do!
[CAN CAN GIRLS]
When you think you can't
You'll find you can can!
[SOPHIE]
Everyone can can can!
[SOPHIE AND CAN CAN GIRLS]
You can can can too!
Whee!
Whee!
Whee!
[DIMITRI]
Paris hold the key to her past.
Yes, Princess, I've found you at last.
No more pretend,
You'll be gone,
That's the end...
[ENSEMBLE]
Paris hold the key
To your heart!
[COUTURIER]
You'll be "très jolie" and so smart!
[ISADORA DUNCAN]
Come dance through the night
[RODIN]
And forget all your woes
[SOPHIE AND ALL]
The city of light
[GERTRUDE STEIN]
Where a rose is a rose!
[SOPHIE AND ALL]
And one never knows what will start!
Paris
Holds the key...
[DIMITRI]
To her...
[SOPHIE AND ALL]
Heart!
[SOPHIE]
Ooh La La!
[ALL]
Ooh La La! Видеоклипы
I really wish Dimitri had his own song or a larger part cause his part in the song is my favorite!
Summer S the song “Everything To Win” from the Broadway musical is the extended version of his part
@@Jess_The_Phantom Yeah I recently found the soundtrack to the musical and LOVE it!
Summer S oh good
@@Jess_The_Phantom The soundtrack to the musical is amazing! I've been a little obsessed with it ever since I listened to it 😊
I love the storyline for the play too. Its so different than the animated movie, but I like that it fits better with the real history of the Romanovs. I kinda wish they'd make a movie with that storyline.
Scampie
I think Dimitri is one of the hottest animated male characters ever!
My roommate thinks the same thing
John Cusack made a great dimitri
No... 😪😪
Yeeeeeeeeeesssssssssss
I agree
People : "Paris holds the key!" Wow! So upbeat! Love it!
Demetree: "To..her..." My heart omg
it's Dimitri, btw. AND I KNOW RIGHT??? If only boys could be like that irl.
Thanks for the correction, I knew I was spelling it wrong but I couldn't find the right way.
Dimitri was a saint
+Scratchy Towel k but I just love how gracefully you took the correction thanks for being a civil commenter
Scratchy Towel seriously
This was literally on loop inside my head when I visited Paris.
Omg, I just got back! That was definitely me too.
:D
ME TOO!!! hahahah
I want to visit Paris but we don’t have the money right now 😢 in the future, when i visit, if i love it as much as i think i do i want to move there, have three babies with my hubby, and raise them there. Its such an enchanting city from the distance I’m in love and i haven’t even visited it yet 😂
Ha, great!
Good!
You know, when listening to it on the soundtrack, this almost sounds like a stage play instead of an animated film.
The movie is kind of animated like that too. There's a lot of theatrical elements and dancing. Glad it's finally coming to Broadway next spring!
andrea p Hope they fix all the plot holes though.
Indego84 One of the reasons I adore it
They turned it into a stage play in 2019!!!
@@jcarreon1829I still understood that (July 12th,2023 and September 6th,2023 plus October 11th,2023/🙂)!
I just watched the Broadway version of this show, and I loved it, but I was very disappointed when they cut out Dimitri's "to..her..." and replaced it with the crowd continuing on. Dimitri's part was so much better (and Derek Klena totally could've pulled it off).
In my experience I like the songs the musical added but the songs that are in both are better in the movie
Part of that I think was that this song was part of him realizing he was falling in love with Anya, so in the musical that becomes more fleshed out in “Everything to Win”, where he more stumbles over himself rather than just dropping hints. I really miss that moment, but the musical significance of ETW towards the end is really important.
I am still upset they didn’t include In the Dark of the Night in the Broadway version
I haven’t watched the Broadway version and not planning too cause I’m scared it won’t be up to my liking (I REALLY LOVE THIS MOVIE ANS THE SOUND TRACK) so reading this makes me upsety spaghetti
They also ruined the first ''Once Upon a December''.
this song and this movie are so underrated it should be a broadway musical
What do you know....dreams do come true.
Now it is!
You totally called this!
Jordan Rosenberg that’s what I always thought and now it happened *_*
Have I got news for you pal
Dimitri breaks my heart...
I just want Dimitri to sing to me.
paris 1920 cidade dos sonhos paris hoje cidade dos arabes
Omg the most relatable thing ever said
Gotta say that the animation of Dimitri in this song is incredible! Actually everything about this sequence was, but his tiny moments especially.
Dimitri : You’ll be gone that’s the end
Me: 😭😭😩❤️❤️❤️
Don Bluth's response to Walt Disney's "Be Our Guest"....
Always reminded me more of "To be human again"
I honestly prefer this song in the movie than the musical. They cut out Dmitry's "to her" and I'm so salty about that!
ANASTASIA IS BECOMING A REAL SHOW IN BROADWAY!!!:D
the can- can girls segment always hypes meee 💃‼️
I'm so ashamed that it took me until a week ago to realize that Bernadette Peters was the voice of Sophie...
Me to.
She needed another song!
Das me fremd.
I hope in the broadway musical they give Dimitri more of a solo here (or right after this song because that would be a PERFECT place to show off the actors voice and just make you cry *that much more* about how sweet he is)
EthalaRide They're making a broadway musical about this!?!?
dea mae *made!!!! Lol. Yep!
EthalaRide totally
I was so disappointed when they cut out most of his lines in this song especially the “to her...” part :(
Am I the only one who listens to this song ONLY so I can hear Dimitri's part?
I think Dimitri is one of the hottest male animated characters ever!
@@LucyLovettLestrange
AMEN TO THAT
Nope
Definetly not me... 😂
Nope X3
I listened to this as a little girl wishing to go to Paris one day. Fast forward 25 yrs and I finally got to go this summer. Not to mention this song was stuck in my head :)
How did it go?
Aviator: Charles Lindburgh ("There's love in the air")
Artist: Claude Monet ("The French have it down to an art"
This is such a fun song. I love all the people who make cameos. I missed this film so much, I finally got my own copy as a gift last Christmas!
LOL! Never thought of that!
+Patricia Harold even josephine baker makes a cameo in that film...which is awesome.
+Patricia Harold even josephine baker makes a cameo in that film...which is awesome.
Bernadette Peters can do nothing wrong
tara thelen You can say that again.
Legends of Oz: Dorothy's return
I noticed in the special celebrating Carol Burnett's nintieth birthday, she could not hit high notes.
I love Dimitris part in this version but I understand the changes in the Broadway song. In the animated movie he is already aware of Anyas true identity, while in the musical he has yet to discover it through the song "in a crowd of thousands"
Sorry if my grammar isn't correct. I'm german and not that good with english.
@@biancasmindpalace9024 your English is better than mine at least 😭😭
Paris... holds the key.... to your... HEARRRRRRRRRRRRRT!!!!!! OLA LA OLA LA!!!!
On Broadway Bernadette Peters should definitely reprise the role of Sophie.
As well as Angela Lansbury as the empress and Kelsey grammar as vlad!!!
+Loopyloualways I believe Angela Lansbury is reprising her role!
Lynn Kusmin xfcc
Lynn Kusmin xycxxxxxxxycdx
Morticia Moonflower yes!!!
This song is gorgeous, badass, heartwarming, romantic and magical.
I know a lot of people say That Once upon a december or Journey to the past is there favorite song in the film but mine is this one
Dark of the night is mine lol
PARI HOLDS THE KEY TO HER PAST, YES PRINCESS I FOUND YOU AT LAST AHHHHH MY HEART!!!!!!
This is probably my favorite song from this movie which is an incredibly hard decision to make because all of the music in this movie is a masterpiece but I just love this song so much! It makes me so happy! It’s so much fun and full of life and beauty. I adore it!
The amount of fun and joy I get from this song!!! So much!! It’s so fun and romantic. And Demetri is adorable in this song!!
First thing I thought of when I heard about the massacre today, Friday 13, 2015. We are all Parisians tonight ❤️
+SunglassesintheRain4 that's why i came here too. how fucking tragic...
+SunglassesintheRain4 this song got in my head yesterday before the attack and i listened to it a few times. It was weird for me, I never thought about France much before but now I hope they will be ok. And recover from this terrible tragedy.
+SunglassesintheRain4 You are not alone. My heart goes out to the victims and survivors. :(
+sordid queer Even more tragic is that the terrorists dared to justify such foolishness. How could you justify something as awful as this? At the very least, it comforts me to think of what sort of juicy punishment they're receiving in the afterlife.
+SunglassesintheRain4 Thank you guys !
This song is Gorgeous,Badass,Magical,Romantic,Cute,Heartwarming and Fun.
Adored this movie and song when I was a child. Now I'm in my thirties and visiting Paris in Feb 2022 for the first time, and the wonder I feel is similar to the feeling I got from this song!
Heck yeah/Love this song part 2-3ish!😀🤣😇😍🎼🎵🎶🎹
I experience frisson (the way I describe it is similar to the tingles people get from ASMR but rather than the tingles feeling relaxing they make me feel excited and awake) and this is one of the few songs guaranteed to give me those shivers every time I listen to it (the only other one I can think of right now is This is Me from The Greatest Showman)
"And a rose is a rose!"
Me -watching this when I was a kid-: No duh! W-What does that have to do with-- Oh whatever!
IKR XD
Whattt?? CalianSonadora
+CalianSonadora Hemingway has a different opinion
As a kid I never really noticed it. Now... I find it so funny that I don't get it 😂
i. i dont get it.
I love how this scene contains cameos by famous historical celebrities!
am i the only one who hasnt listened to this in years and still knows ALL the words..
Favorite song in the movie! It just exudes happiness!
I love this movie!!!!!!!
This movie is severely underrated. SOOOO happy it's a musical now!! Coming to my state next year and I'm hoping to see it!!
I saw it before COVID. The stage version was beautiful
Don’t mind me, just gonna put this here for me 1:54 2:47
Just listening to this song on repeat before my trip to Paris in six days! 😋
I love this movie and soundtrack so much! ❤😭

Yes it is
maurice chevalier, sigmund freud, charles lindburgh, josephine baker, claude monet, isadora duncan, rodin, and gertrude stein.
wow, the cameos are definitely reminding us just what year it is when all this happens.
A place where love is beautiful
One of my dream cities
This song. And the animation. Are just so perfect, good god...
Love this song!😍🥰😇😆😁😄
Loved loved loved this song so much! Probably informed a later interest in Broadway haha. The magic and wonder of Paris is perfectly captured for the young Anastasia in this movie.
The stage version blows the movie out of the water
Coming To Broadway's Broadhurst theatre Spring 2017 Fun fact this is the Act 2 opening number.
I want to visit Paris but we don’t have the money right now 😢 in the future, when i visit, if i love it as much as i think i do i want to move there, have three babies with my hubby, and raise them there. Its such an enchanting city from the distance I’m in love and i haven’t even visited it yet 😂
this made me want to go to Paris soo badly as a child lol
ME TOO!
why isn't this version on spotifyyyy
I been to Paris with my family trip in France. I LOVE ❤️😊😅😍😂 Paris France.
pray for Paris
:) LOVE this movie! Ughhh!!!
This song always makes me smile. Love it
Be Our Guest ! Be Our Guest ! oops wrong movie
Is there a way to like a comment more than once?
Lmao!! Oh God this comment made me laugh so hard!! 😂😂😂
I thought this song was from Beauty and the Beast too lol

The ending!!✨✨✨💗
This movie is underrated.

Glad to say that I actually created a picture of dimitri on my textiles work :)
I love these songs

my favorite song !!!
Yes! This and Prince of Egypt and Nightmare before Christmas and Mulan and the disney version of hunchback of notre dame.
It's pretty epic on Broadway!!
Paris! Hold the keeeyyyyyyyy to her Heart! My childhood
I love they say forget where your from and Anyas there trying to fingers out where she’s from 😅
this song is legit my love life
Paris Holds the Key to my heart
Oh, Paris...I have high hopes for you! :)
I don't know why, but whenever it gets to Dmitri's part my mind will interpret it as being sinister. I have no freaking idea why, even as a kid I always found it dark..
@Lapis Lazuli Circus I agree
I love this song sm (:
I agree .
I've always loved this song the best ^^
You are correct! The powers that be are in the process of workshopping the new musical, featuring Aaron Tveit ('Catch Me If You Can' and 'Next to Normal' on Broadway, 'Les Miserables' the movie, and 'Graceland' on USA Network) as a possible Dimitri!
listen it to all the time
LovE This song
This is one of the few songs i prefer this version to the musical and it’s purely because of bernadette peters
Dear Poppy Tex,
We had a complicated relationship, but I will forever associate Paris with you I can't believe you have been gone for almost a month, I miss you Poppy. May we be together in Paris someday.
Love, your "baby doll"
Love the broadway version, but the movie’s version Dimitri is far more superior.
used to hate this song but love it now
Ive been to Paris, and yes its a magical place;))
I LOVE MAGICAL WORLD like Paris.
MY FAVORITE MOVIE this should be a musical on broadway
Parle vous Francais? Je'tadore paris!! Bon chance. La vie est trés bonne in Paris. Au revior!
That moment you win a cultural victory as France in Civ V.
