Got the degree, got the job, hustled 70+ hour work weeks, got the 6 figure paycheck. I was the girl boss. And you know what I realized. I’m quickly replaced at work but irreplaceable at home. And it’s a joke to think you can work that many hours and still have QUALITY time with your kids, your spouse and yourself. Best paycheck I get now is I love you from my 4 babies.
I'm a woman. With a nursing license. I put it on the shelf to be a SAHM with my 3 kids. It's been 12 years now and I am over the moon happy to be with them.
Yes. I left my job of 14 years to raise my kids when they were becoming teenagers and younger bc I saw the distinct possibility of them going LEFT. I am happy to say I raised 5 kids successfully with zero criminal records here in NYC. Sometimes if you want success, you have to make sacrifices for the long haul success. If we have kids then it is OUR responsibility to rear them well to become.priductive members if society and that takes time.and effort. Actually being there means something. Unfortunately not everyone can do it. If it can be done, the outcome is worth it.
Indeed, as a mother of 4 and a grandma of 12. I think this young fellow gets it. When woman do not meet their biological clock they become depressed and angry women.
@@Mister_Rooster what makes u think shes career driven? she had her kid, raised him and now he's an adult and she doens't have to do it anymore. prob spends hella time with his kids. his point isn't that women can't have a career, his point is not to sacrifice being a mother if you desire it because some random weirdo told you you bad guy raceest if you have a hetero relationship and want to stay at home with your beautiful young children. @@saundrac9 most families need two working parents to get by in this economic situation we live in. This isn't 1950, where a truck driver can buy a house and provide for a wife and 4 kids comfortably.
They've made it nearly impossible for a woman to stay at home today and raise a family! It's a damned shame and I believe speaks to a lot of the reason society sucks today.
Including everyone in that audience? Not the best time and place to do a political lecture. It's like bringing up biden or trump in an unrelated speech and going off on a tangent
Sahm for 11 years now. I was very career oriented, successful and was devastated the first few years that my resume will mean nothing. As time progressed, I realized this is the most precious, priceless, and most meaningful, and exhausting time of our lives. And it's so short. You have your whole life to work. And for what? Nothing compares to the day you become a mother or father. Nothing.
I come from a family of 5 siblings and 2 parents who committed to themselves and the family. My dad gave me a sense of what family truly was and my mom showed me the strength and love a mother should have. I've known since I was a child I wanted to have a family myself. Now in my 40s, I've got a wife of 10 years, our kids running around and I can provide comfortably for my family. We've got the property to run around on, Pool, hot tub, ziplines and trampolines, ATV's etc. My goal in life was to provide everything for my family so I worked my butt off to get to the point where I can. Family is what I wanted with all my heart and soul and my Trad wife shares all the same goals in life with me. She loved Harrisons speech.
He’s not gonna apologize. I’ve seen other interviews he’s done over the last few years. He’s “all in” with his beliefs and with sharing his beliefs. It’s definitely more important to him than football. He’s not looking for trouble, but if it comes to him, he’s not backing down. …
No shit I'm sick of people apologizing too! It's so irritating. It's like you just won and you're handing your trophy over to the loser and accepting defeat!
As a Catholic woman who works part time with two degrees and raising 3 children. I could not have said it better myself. Am with you all the way, Harrison!
This is one of the first speeches in many years that made me feel Seen as a mother. I've never had a harder, more painful, more Agonizing - and yet completely Rewarding and Important job in my entire life. God bless him for having the strength to stand up for the one job that nobody in the main stream world cares about❤🙏🏼❤️
I hope Butker’s message helps us get back to common sense in our country, because being a devoted parent, in this case a Mother, is literally the most important thing. …. I’m Catholic and, as everyone knows, we LOVE Jesus’ mother Mary. We see her as the greatest Christian that ever lived. No, we don’t worship her. We just love and respect her. Mr. Butker’s speech was Catholic and also good common sense.
@@jessebaldwin2661yeah PBD obviously is an opportunist who has found conservative propaganda very lucrative. Hence why he's latest book is sprinkled with conservative propaganda.
The left targeted and broke up African American families in the 60s. They had the lowest divorce rate and highest nuclear family standards. The left gave money for women raising children in the home WITHOUT a man present. Single motherhood skyrockets and crushed the black community. The next goal will be everyone else. You break up family and faith and they have you. Why during COVID you could go to a strip club but could not go to church? Anti family and anti faith. There is no body for you to even want to fight for. You bend the knee and feed the machine.
Show me a tribe of people who elevate the status of the nuclear family to the degree that we do. I'll wait. Children needs parents, but they also need a whole village to raise them well. Neighbors, other kids' parents, leaders, workers of every stripe. Moms and dads are important, but they can't raise kids well on their own, yet that is what so many people believe.
Wow thanks MEN!!! You along with Harrison have just made my day as a Mother of 4, 2 boys 2 girls, 5 Grandbabies 4 girls, one boy, the best of both worlds!!! ❤💙 My husband and I fully discussed our future desires for family before we got married and I expressed I wanted to be a stay at home Momma, not having someone else raise our children. I said I will help out financially from the home, in any way, he wanted the same, what did I do? I watched other working Mothers kids for a whopping $1.00 per hour, changed their babies diapers, experienced their babies first steps, made them homemade meals, held their babies while sick 😭and some of them I cared for all the way to walk them into their first day of Kindergarten 😭💖 Ok, this wasn’t a “brag” session on me, incredible friendships were formed with honesty and truth be told not one Momma had to work, they were married couples but said their dual incomes were like velvet handcuffs. Newer, nicer, bigger homes, RVs, yet their kids were with me full time. This was the 90s haha not the 1930s 😂 My final point, I would not change one day of our family decision for me to be “CEO” 😉of our home ❤Our culture, values and honor for family needs to be torn down at its current foundation and rebuilt!!!🙏🙌💪💯 God Bless America 🇺🇸 🎉
He didn't speak to a balancing act - I think he could have improved his message by doing so given the reality many of the women were stepping into careers.
@@elibennett6168 He actually did, in a sense. The whole point of discussing Isabelle is that she wasn't able to balance a career with being a homemaker, choose homemaker, and had no regrets. What he was communicating to these women is that if they surrender career to family, they are not giving up on the possibility of a rich and rewarding life. When he talks about the "diabolical lies" and "other noises," he's talking about the modern dominant ideology, which often promotes the exact opposite thinking. Does he actually have to acknowledge that juggling career and being a homemaker is a balancing act? No, I don't think he does. Everyone knows that. That's like acknowledging that the sky is blue.
@@elibennett6168 I think his point was to destigmatize being a stay at home mom. Not once did he criticize working women or moms. He just explained how important his wife's role in their home is and what it means for him and their family. Because whether people like it or not, many women are in their 30's now and upset they didn't make time for a family. They are trying to warn other women about the dangers of seeing men as the enemy, and having a career as being the only goal. There are lots of women that can have a career and run a family, and they're brilliant at managing it all. I think his message was just meant to say that if a woman chooses not to do those things, like many who are coming from a Catholic University will, that their roles in society are important roles. We choose what we let offend us, and the outrage about his speech just proves how stigmatized being a homemaker has become... 🤷♀️
@@melissacoupal585 I listened to the whole speech. He flat out acted like he knew what their calling is meant to be, saying "some" of the women may lead successful careers, but the majority will be more excited about marriage and children. This immediate smacks down women who are choosing to be celibate in the Lord. There is not one path for all women, and it is God that determines that path, not Butker.
@@elibennett6168 Again, we all get to choose what offends us, and we all get to choose how we interpret what another meant by their words. I choose to assume that his speech was meant to praise and encourage homemakers, not insult and discourage working women. Especially considering his speech was given at a Catholic University and it was Mother's Day weekend. The outrage and backlash from his speech just goes to show that he was right about there being people who will try and undervalue the importance of being a homemaker. Many of the same people who were outraged about his speech because these women just spent 4 years working hard to get their degrees, and he was trying to shame the ones choosing to start a career, had nothing to say about Biden's speech. A speech where he told a bunch of men who just spent 4 years working hard to get their degree, that since they were black their country doesn't love them and they will have to work ten times harder to get ahead. You can praise certain choices without it having to mean you are insulting others. I understand what you're saying, I truly do, but just because you chose to interpret it that way, doesn't mean that offense was his true intentions.
I’m a woman, and I approve Butker’s message. I was a career woman with 3 kids until 2020….i am now a SAHM with 4 kids and couldn’t be happier! I wish I would have done this so much sooner! I bought into the lie, until 4 years ago. Then I woke up! I am a Proverbs 31 woman, thank you Jesus!
I didn’t have an issue with his speech either. They make it seem like a career is the everything in life; and it’s not. Being a mother is the most important job in the world

I will not lie… I love my “job”. I am an elementary art educator… I am blessed literally each and everyday… BUT… ABSOLUTELY NOTHING compares to my purpose as a MOM!! NOTHING!!! The relationship I have with my own mom, as well as the relationship I have my daughter is literally life defining. We were sold a big fat lie that making money to better make other people wealthy, and not work as a team with our husbands was better than raising tomorrow’s generation.
Yes. Many of us painted ourselves into a corner with degrees and careers that offered our families material riches rather than day by day moment by moment guidance of our children. It was expected that if you were smart you went to college and got that degree. Then it was a waste to not use the degree. So we tried to do it all and nearly worked ourselves into the ground. Don’t ever look down on a home maker. Their job is difficult and if their product in the end is a good person, good parent, and good family persons they have spent their lives well.

The only thing that makes me mad was it was a man of any color that honored our sisters and not a woman. I do not have children. My path was different. I’m a married career woman and wasn’t offended at all by what he said. Don’t understand the controversy around people making different life choices. My husband has brought more joy into my life than my well paying job ever has. Yes taking care of children is the most important role for all of humanity.
I have a master's degree in engineering. Looking back, my life truly did not begin until I had my daughter. My life and my views on the world were flipped upside down. I have never loved another person so much as I love her. I was unable to be a SAHM but would have done it in a heartbeat. No job or degrees could measure up to being a mom. I am lucky with my job that I have flexible hours and can go on school field trips and work from home after school. When I am gone, she isn't going to remember how good I was at my job - she will remember those moments that mom spent with her. 100% agree with him.
I think so many people are forgetting … his speech was targeted to a faith based group , people with a certain belief and moral system! So if you’re not part of that group don’t comment!
You hit the nail on the head!! He wasn't giving this speech to a crowd at the Super Bowl. It was a speech about Christian beliefs that was given to a Christian audience. He was stressing the importance of family and people have turned his speech into what they perceive to be an evil misogynist rant! Next thing they will attack is a Promise Keepers event, which is a Christian male gathering on how to be a better husband and father. Detractors of Butker's speech have taken it completely out of context. Why it was even covered, or made known to the public at large, in the first place, leads a body to wondering doesn't it?

Just last night, I attended an awards ceremony at his school, where he got awards for exceptional ability in math, straight As all 4 years of HS and the Governor's award. In the fall, he's headed off to college to study Mechanical Engineering. On top of that, he's a really good person with really solid friends. When the time comes, I'll be so happy to leave him everything we've amassed in this life, just as im happy to pay for his college with cash and ensure he doesnt start out with debt. Of course, not all adoptions end up as well as ours, but the same is true for any kids. In many ways, they're a reflection on the upbringing you give them.
I'm a 40-year-old woman I have had success in my life and I'm still successful and I wish every day of my life I can spend it raising my children at home and being the godly woman that he designed me to be. That's when I'm happiest as when I'm with my family. Unfortunately in this world I can't afford to do that even if I wanted to. I'm so happy that Harrison bucker and his wife can live the way they feel God wants them to because I understand it I want it and I can't. I love the chiefs and I love Harrison Butler and his strong faith to say what he has to say regardless of whoever backlashes on him as we know there's always going to be back lash haters.
One of the most beautiful speeches I've ever heard. The persecution of those that believe in God is only going to get worse. Stay strong stay blessed and never be embarrassed to love the creator.
Allow me to address this message in a polite, but very direct way to Michelle Beadle. I listened to the entirety of Harrison's speech, and the first thing that came into my mind was the kind of mom that I had growing up. I have never met any women that even come close to all that my mom did for me and my siblings when we were growing up. I grew up without a father, our father passed away when I was 4. I was one of 7 children and our mother raised us all on her own. She had a full time job, and she also kept her home in order. She was the best cook I've ever known, my sister's are a close 2nd. The difference between women like my mom, and women like Michelle Beadle is the family life. To sum it up what Harrison was pointing out is that what really matters in life is the family. This man was being incredibly humble in saying that it is his wife that makes it so in their family. He was elevating his wife to the highest level of love and respect with such a beautiful compliment, and women like Michelle Beadle don't have a clue what that looks like, to be with such a loving husband. I come from a big family and we are all very close, and it was our mother that made it so! She passed away in 2021 at the age of 93. I am 61, I have 3 kids. My wife passed away in 2017, and I raised them as a single parent. I live a good and prosperous life, and raised my kids the same way that I was raised, and I owe it all to God, and my mom! My mom passed away with her family around her. A close family is a beautiful thing, and the Butker family has that! I hope Michelle will find that happiness someday and maybe a light bulb will go on in her head and she'll realize how important the family is.
I am a Catholic Registered Nurse who decided to stay home and raise my children. This was the best decision I made for my family back in the early 2000's now they are both married and very successful. Harrison Butker's speech was the best commencement speech and was appropriate! God Bless Harrison we need more Catholic men and women to profess their faith publicly!
My mother was home with us growing up, and it was the best! I loved her being there…I loved being called for dinner, I loved coming off the school bus and yelling out to mum…”I’m home!” The perfect way to grow up. Her time was given to us, not divided with a career and working. My mother loved us and took care of her family. She instilled values in us and promoted our faith in God. We loved her so much, and we tried to live right to make her proud. She did not seem unhappy in her life, and we owe her everything we have become. Rest in peace, mum.
I am pretty sure that many more women would be homemakers and mothers if they could. The point is, it is an admirable choice, too. We have seen many liberals attack trad wives. These liberals are hypocrites.
He (Butker) is not saying that women cant have careers, he saying that women will be more excited about getting married and their children than they will be excited with their career.
My parents had 9 children. Saturday night was their date night. My mom went back to work when the youngest went to grammar school. My father and mother lived each other more the day they died ( 3 weeks apart) than the day they got married. They both worked their asses off at home and work. They loved their life.
70, never had kids, now I think I should have, just watching my sister's kids graduating, getting married, first pregnancy I see how much I'm missing out.
I was a stay at home mom for 16 years. Now I'm a Hazard Management Control Specialist in the mining industry. I applaud this man. My husband is a wonderful man. Treats me like a queen. He worked his arse off so we could raise our children, not some yahoo at a daycare centre. If you are blessed enough to stay home and raise your children? Beautiful. If you can't or could not pull that off. Understandable. But if you could or can choose to raise your children and don't? You should never have had children in the first place. Children are a blessing. Not cattle.
Good for you!!! Men are not women our journeys and time lines different, men are straightforward, women's whole biology is cycle based ❤❤❤❤ we can start a family a one stage and have a career at another stage every woman doesn't in a way that matches her stage
Really disappointed that you called ppl who work at daycare centers "yahoos". Not because I or a family member works at one but I used them when my kids were very young and now my kids need the services of daycare for their children. It is as much a needed community service as a hazard control specialist. Just saying.
@@madamedefarge9503I wouldn't be offended by this. There are many wonderful people working in daycares. Broadly speaking, though, we shouldn't think that ANY daycare worker is a suitable replacement for a mother. We also shouldn't program people into thinking it's normal to leave a baby (as young as 3-12 months old) in the care of a stranger, all day while the mom goes to work. I realize some people do not have a choice. But many do, but choose daycare anyway. Lastly, being a full time parent is super challenging hard work. There's a big difference between a good man and a bad man. 😂 If you find a good man he's not going to have a problem with you working, or going out with your friends, or whatever the hell you want to do as long as you ain't cheating or being mistrustful, I'm almost sure that most good men would gladly watch the kids once in awhile so you can go do your thing. But parents should raise their kids not a daycare. That's it That's the truth it needs to be said once and for all. You're not chained to the house because you're a homemaker. In fact if he makes enough to support you you'll have a vehicle to drive around in all day and be able to do whatever you please with the kids. If anything there's more freedom there than there is working. I don't understand why they're so against fixing our world. This is what the Benedictine sisters of Mount St. Scholastica had to say about his speech: "The sisters of Mount St. Scholastica do not believe that Harrison Butker's comments in his 2024 Benedictine College commencement address represent the Catholic, Benedictine, liberal arts college that our founders envisioned and in which we have been so invested. Instead of promoting unity in our church, our nation, and the world, his comments seem to have fostered division. One of our concerns was the assertion that being a homemaker is the highest calling for a woman. We sisters have dedicated our lives to God and God's people, including the many women whom we have taught and influenced during the past 160 years. These women have made a tremendous difference in the world in their roles as wives and mothers and through their God-given gifts in leadership, scholarship, and their careers. Our community has taught young women and men not just how to be "homemakers" in a limited sense, but rather how to make a Gospel-centered, compassionate home within themselves where they can welcome others as Christ, empowering them to be the best versions of themselves."

A hate filled woman! She leads the life that she chooses to lead, and more power to her, but why so much anger about a speech, or a way of life, that doesn't affect her in the least. Who gets mad about good family values in the first place?
As a woman I think you can work for a time in your chosen field and then be a mom, mom is the most gratifying “job” . I continued to work in my field at a reduced capacity ( for financial reasons) while being a mom and we made it work and I wouldn’t change any of the extra time I dedicated to my kids.
I am a 44 year old woman. I got my Master’s degree and worked in my field but took time off when we had our 2 sons. Yes, we were/are fortunate enough to live on 1 income. My husband supported my decision to take 1 year off and go back part time. However, that lasted 2 months - I knew that my purpose in life had shifted and I couldn’t bear the thought of not being with my son every day and teaching him, loving him, experiencing being his mother. Has it been easy? Hell no. Being a parent has been Thur biggest challenge of my life but it has 100% made me a better person and I would not trade it for anything. Our boys are now 10 & 13 and was able to start working part time 3 years ago while they’re at school during the day. I’m so thankful to my husband who supports our family in every way. No, not everyone needs to have kids if they don’t them and Butker wasn’t saying that women can’t have a career. You can do whatever you want but he was absolutely right in that the most fulfilling thing he and his wife have experienced is being parents. I agree.
Bcs it's highly sexist and regressive, and the whole reason why Americans have become more progressive, and why conservatives have become more repellent to learning and understanding others, and instead using 'woke' in a negative context bcs they don't understand.
I’m a woman, well educated and accomplished, but I fully agree with Harrison. My greatest accomplishment is being a wife and mother. Raising kids who grow up to contribute positively to society and supporting my husband to be the best man, father and husband he can be has given me greater joy than my career ever has. This is just my experience, I don’t speak for all women. So I was very encouraged by this man’s speech
Of course that lame woman is pissed. She knows she will die alone and nobody will shed a tear. On her tombstone it will read "No name, no DOB no DOD because nobody cares"
As a senior boomer girl...lol, I never felt right about the notion of daycare for my sons. It went against my heart sense. I chose a great part-time job. My little ones either stayed with Daddy or my Mother when i worked. We had to adjust the purse strings a bit for sure . I never regretted that decision. Being a mother & keeping a home really was my heart. Many of my peers threw plenty of shade at me for that decision. The women who worked full time were pretty judgemental about me for sure. I had peace with my decisions. As an old girl, I'm so happy that I listened to my heart. Plus, it was WAY more fun being with my children & caring for them than it ever could have been working around all those back stabbing two faced wenches any day. 😂
I am all for women in the workplace, if you don’t want a family and kids, I don’t care, but there are alot of women who don’t mind a traditional role, and working as I did. I am older now, but I love my married life and I love my husband who does the repairs around the house, and he even cleans & cooks!😱 People need to get over it and get a life, it was a fking speech, given in a conservative atmosphere and heavily applauded by most of the women there.
Exactly! I didn’t agree with everything he said but there are many women who’s desire that kind of lifestyle. The reaction and calling for him to lose his job is insane!

As a woman, mother, wife and a physician I respect and applaud his commencement speech. It’s a balancing act but being a mom is priceless.

Such a beautiful statement of love, and speaks to how important mothers are in their children’s lives. ❤️

Being a Mother is one of my Best Blessings
70, never had kids, now I think I should have, just watching my sister's kids graduating, getting married, first pregnancy I see how much I'm missing out.
I'm sorry. I almost missed the boat myself falling for the lies. Be the best Auntie ever! ❤ A wonderful extended family is worth their weight in gold.
The gaslighting by the reporters is impressive.
Not everyone is cut out for it, or have the support structure for it.
God bless Moms! And, dad's too! ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤❤
@@madamedefarge9503 Sorry I didn't consider your sensitivities. I thought I was addressing adults? Not cancel culture whiners. Careful now sweetheart? Your weakness is showing. 💋
Yeah thank you. Why is it that people compare marriage to slavery.
I just watched a video of a congressional hearing where the guy pretty much said America is killing itself right now.
These women who are so offended by the Man’s Beautiful Heartfelt speech are jealous, that no Man feels this way about them!
Facts .!!
Why jealous? He's not a woman and he's patronizing what he thinks women should be doing.

Amazing Man! I love this very sweet but also thank you for allowing woman who want to stay home and bring up their children the most amazing and important job in this world nothing can compare! Thank you for showing that a real man is ok with his wife raising his children! Not all woman want success in jobs outside the home some want to be with their family to lead them and guide them to be productive well mannered and serving God by managing their home! Thank you God bless you and your beautiful family!
A faithfilled Catholic man speaking about sacraments of the Catholic Church at a Catholic university... O' how controversial.
are these progressives everywhere taking videos, editing them , leaving out the whole context, so they can move their precious "movement" along? Wow, how pathetic.
This is what the Benedictine sisters of Mount St. Scholastica had to say about his speech:
"The sisters of Mount St.

I loved his speech!!! I think he was right, and I'm grateful he shared the truth. God bless him and his family!!! What a strong man to tell the truth.
BEAUTIFUL!!!
I agree.
You’re not going to be filled with regret when you’re sixty. That’s what happens to lots of people. Thanks for sharing!
Very well said you are an amazing man God bless you and your family ❤❤❤
A speech about obvious truth. What is the big deal?
People make it a big deal.
This man is courageous ❤God Bless Him
Being a mother and a homemaker is so undervalued, but it’s the most important job there is, raising the next generation to be good wholesome people.
Great speech! Agree with him 100%! Thank you for covering it!
48 years old. No spouse, no kids. The WALL strikes again. Such a bitter human being. ☹
Deep, deep, murderous anger.
Enjoy your cats! Lol😂🤡🌎
Women without kids and husband shouldn't be allowed in politics or any other decision making job. Or we will have to enjoy the fruits of bitterness.
Bitter it was beautiful. Best choice in my life was being a stay home mom
Of course that lame woman is pissed. She knows she will die alone and nobody will shed a tear. On her tombstone it will read "No name, no DOB no DOD because nobody cares"
Saying the F word is not freedom of speech. It’s vulgarity and low class
Thank you for supporting him in his speech. It’s a simple, beautiful truth and he had a lot of courage to say what he values and believes in.

I am all for women in the workplace, if you don’t want a family and kids, I don’t care, but there are alot of women who don’t mind a traditional role, and working as I did. I am older now, but I love my married life and I love my husband who does the repairs around the house, and he even cleans & cooks!😱
People need to get over it and get a life, it was a fking speech, given in a conservative atmosphere and heavily applauded by most of the women there.
ikr...gotta get the MRS degree!!!! go girls!
I'm all for women to be OUT of the workforce. We don't need the crappy PMS attitude and incompetence.
Exactly! I didn’t agree with everything he said but there are many women who’s desire that kind of lifestyle. The reaction and calling for him to lose his job is insane!
This is what young people need leadership like leadership from Mr Harrison
Great subject guys and well done 👍🏽. Your topic sentence threw me off at first. I was listening and trying to tap my thoughts on the phone which will look like I repeatimg some thoughts 😊.
Day care generation and Wine Aunts getting upset
I'm shocked
Reminds me a lot of Chelsea Handler and the video she made several months ago. They're two single, childless, middle-aged, angry leftist women who are secretly(or not)miserable.
This shouldn't even be a thing. Next question ya know.

Yet conservatives will virtue signal over it all day every day. Started over at Fox, now with PBD, and I'm sure Daily Wire and turning point USA are making their rounds as well. Gotta keep misguided and misinformed people on the conservative propaganda cool aid
