Thanks for your reaction! TXT is a different kind of group. They have an incredible and diverse discography with songs from the rock, pop, R&B and many other genres, but they always leave their singularity and mark that I think you can easily identify after a while of getting to know their work. They are known for being storytellers in kpop... They have a lore that runs through all their work, whether it's in the songs or the concepts, etc. Their concept trailers are very cool to watch, they're like movies and always very artistic. OVer The Moon video depicts boys who first experience the phenomenal and grand feeling of love. The members want to grow themselves to protect their opponents and become ready at any time. TXT expresses this as a process of combining flowers that are perfect for "you", making kites, and preparing an umbrella for rain that may fall at any time. It is interesting to express love that is getting bigger and bigger by comparing it to water droplets. A droplet that rises in your hand grows bigger over time and turns into a powerful raindrop that soaks up the boys. In addition, ladybugs symbolizing love and luck appear throughout the video, hinting at a bright future for the boys. "Over The Moon" is a love song that depicts expectations for the future with "you," and the introduction of a dreamy atmosphere is an attractive pop song. It focuses on the team's strengths such as coolness, sentimentality, and rock energy, and adds fun to the vintage sound and unique R&B groove. And of course there's Soobin, the king of falsetto from the 4th generation of kpop!
thank you so much for your comment! they really are! I love TXT so much, they are probably one of my more favorite BGs, if I remember correctly, isn't their lore tied with the books The Little Prince. ahh thank you so much for the explanation of the video, honestly, that is so TXT I love it. so much symbolism
@@Killdeer25 You are welcome! TXT story is about growth, they talk about the transition from adolescence to adulthood and all those changes that characterize it, the fear and refusal to grow up and the desire to stay young forever! They tackle the theme both explicitly, through music videos and lyrics set in out time and through symbolism using a fantasy plot with magical elements. Actually we could say that their storyline is a story within a story, the fairytale in which they find refuge from the real world in a magical one, Magical Island is the story of a board game or the videogame they are playing in the real world to escape reality! And they use references from literature such as Alice in Wonderland, Harry Potter, Peter Pan, The Marvelous Land of Oz, Monday's Child, Coraline, The Little Prince, The Snow Queen, The Little Match Girl and Romeo and Juliet and among others. Their lore tells the story of a friendship between 5 boys who are growing up, accepting themselves, examining their friendships, and navigating promises and betrayals. They go through a series of confusing events, from growing fantasy body parts to visiting a magic island and revisiting memories. The entire story of TXT is about coming of age, but it goes through the world of fantasy, When they were young they made a promise to a star that they would be together forever. However they ended up separating and the star fell asleep. As they grew older, they started growing pains and fears that manifested onto their body like horns, pointy ears, spikes, odd eyes and wings. Have they become monsters? They wondered. The boys met again, but they didn't remember anything not even each other, why they met and what they had to do. As they reunited, they began to grow a friendship once again, playing and laughing with each other. They created the magic once again and started playing with it as they pleased. Reversing time, freezing the magical moments they created with their imagination. But dealing with something they don't know well, ended up messing with their reality, as the magical world they created started getting mixed with the reality and soon falling into chaos. Their friendship started falling apart as jealousy, distrust and death got on their way. They started fighting and they didn't know who to trust, what to remember and if they could be saved. A greater power out of their magical world is now flying in the sky (the dragon). It starts attacking them, destroying their friendship, their dreams and their world. Trying to save everyone and their friendship, they make a deal with an odd eye cat, but that power came with a price that they would suffer to pay. Now, as their monstrous side are surfacing and chaos is taking over their lives, they must remember a name, a name that needs to be called, a true name that might help them. They must also remember a song, the song of the star, that once they sing it together they can save their friendship. Of course, this is all a metaphor for growing up and facing the reality of adulthood. All of this is told through TXT's music videos, concept trailers, the animated short film. Aand they also have a webtoon "The star seekers". The story of the webtoon is tied with the lore of the mvs, but not completely the same, if it makes sense. There are definitely a lot of same elements, but while in the webtoon they are used to tell the fictional story about five fictional characters, in the MVs they're used to tell the story about five real boys growing up. In the MV Deja vu there are many references to their webnovel The Star Seekers.
Deja Vu is near the top of my list for song of the year. It is so magical and wonderful and I think about it often even when I'm not listening to music at all. While this comeback doesn't top Deja Vu, it does live up to it for me as a TXT song but for totally different reasons. This one doesn't have the magic and atmospheric storytelling, but it's a hell of a bop. I don't always need my music to be epic and special, I'm just as happy to have a catchy song to get me dancing around my kitchen. I especially liked the second mv. I don't really get nervous about comebacks. I do like when groups switch it up and I'm not generally bothered even if I don't like a comeback especially if they've switched it up because at least they are trying something new. I am more bothered if comebacks in a row all sound the same to me, like the last few Stray Kids comebacks. But even then, I'm not too worried about it. If I like a group, sooner or later I'll click with them again. I mean NCT is in my top three groups and they've had multiple comebacks across the units that I didn't care for. Hasn't knocked them out from being in my S-tier. Better to try something new and have people think this ain't it. then get stuck in a particular sound to the extent that even the original first hits become cliche. That has been the case for so many western bands I've liked and lost interest in over the years.
I actually agree, and because its not as atmospheric it feels a lot more intentional and direct, if that makes sense, I think the second mv is really just quite gorgeous! I dont know I do, but it especially happens when I really liked the previous comeback, the worry of what if its just not good? I feel like because the biggest comebacks I have had as a fan has been EXO, two Dreamcatcher comebacks TXT and when AESPA decided to release both Whiplash and Supernova, not to mention ITZY having a solid return after Born to be and IU this year? we have been fed well, but I always wait for the shoe to drop lol
Please react to their full Sanctuary album and you won't be disappointed.
that! will be coming soon!
