I have a rule of thumb, if a person of interest openly denies connections with a renowned criminal, even with evidence that shows they were connected, they are hiding something. Hence why congress wont release the client list.

I always thought Gates was an a:hole from when I first heard of him. His schoolmates said he was an obnoxious spoiled brat, and Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen said that working with him was hell. Gates was ruthless in enforcing Microsoft's monopoly, deliberately making rival companies' software run slowly on Windows. It's annoying that people think he was a genius - he was just a businessman who bought (and even stole) and then re-sold software.
Is there a book or other source you can point me to learn about his early career? I remember reading an article on computer clubs in the 60(?)'s where early on building computers was like a community to share knowledge and improve their builds. It was from this community that Apple and Microsoft took designs to make their own product and monetized what was initially an at-cost hobby.
I could remember this incorrectly so am looking to read some good sources and relearn the history.

It's kind of like saying that someone made a successful program, but they just used someone else's coding language, imagine leaning c or assembly and then making profit from it.
