Granted, the knowledge of glitches, game mechanics, and routing of the game is incredibly impressive, but what i find more impressive is the endurance demonstrated by sitting down and doing all of this as tightly and quickly as possible.

1:11:11 Wait, how do you have 99 of all of the minor collectables? Is this a New Game+ type thing, or does Hero Mode just _give_ you 99 of all minor collectables to start with?
When you start a hero mode file, the game caries over all minor collectables from your first non-hero mode game file. so he collected 99 of everything on the previous save file and made a hero mode file out of it. I guess that is allowed in speed runs of this game?
Grinding for 99 of everything must take forever. Unless he just downloaded save data that already had 99 of everything and homebrewed it onto the console.
Also, I guess it's fine, since they had the same thing when this game was run at GDQ.

keitsu23 I have a question, why do speedrunners never have the shield equipped? Is it so they don’t accidentally trigger it? Because that makes link stop and would lose a second.
Right,Rolling and shield bash are similar action. So speedrunners unequip the shield in almost time

I'm trying to figure out how you can get an item (like the boss key in the cistern for example) then die, and when you go to your last save point...you still have the boss key....
There are 2 special frames after sidehop. in those 2 frames, we can do a bit higher backflip. So we can enter under the big statue.
And after getting the boss key, I was going to specific position and died. Only that position makes a restart from the entrance.

Aside for stamina regen purposes, why’d you pickup the Lightbulb near the tightrope in the first Silent Realm? Would it have taken longer to just wait for it to regen?

So, why are goddess chests required, but owl statues are not? Both are not tracked in your pause menu if I am correct.
Sorry,I don't know why.This definition was made some years ago. And I started speedrun 1 year ago.
But actually some players also think it's weird. In my opinion,checking the statue and updating Lanayru map should be added tbh. Anyway please think it's rule
Anyone know of any good Skyward Sword runs without the Back In Time glitch?
So, for what reasons the quiver, bomb pouch, and seed satchel are not maxed out ? ususally, in other Zelda game, they are a requirment. I get it for the Shield, as getting the hylian Shield immediately max it out, without needing intermediary, as well as for the potions, as they are consumable that don't stay in the inventory, but the quiver, bomb Pouch and seed snatchel are there to stay and their max out capacity aren't temporary. So why were they ruled out, when they are always accounted for all the other 100% speedrun zelda games ?
I don't know why,but I guess that quivers, satchels,bomb pouch,and shields(except Hylian Shield) have a common point.
We can get them unlimitedly. And also we can sell them. Items we have to get in this category are unsalable.

Since this is clearly on Hero Mode, I'm curious as for how long it would've taken if it wasn't played on Hero Mode, since the Skyward Strike wouldn't have near as much reach. Plus that would also most likely mean you would have to farm the materials for the upgrades.
CS takes 40 minutes maybe. Skyward Strike is not so big deal I think.
But I can't imagine how long it takes without premade treasures, because it depends on rng,and I have to remake the route to get many rupees

How are some of the unskippable cutscenes skippable am I just stupid and they could always be skipped or what?
For example? As you said, I skipped some cutscenes by some tricks. like Mogma Cutscene after miniboss by calling Fi

Why aren't ammo upgrades required? That seems like an obvious Zelda 100% staple.
The required things are specified on speedrun.com leader board
I think those items(like shields and ammo) don't have a limit. We can get them as far as we can. So they became not necessay.

All of the skips when you die and respawn on the menu, are them death warps? And how do you do it?
If you mean the back in time glitching it's hard to explain, but if you mean the abusing of deaths to get back to previous save points then it's important to know that the game places your spawn point usually in front of the last statue you saved at when you die or start your save file.
Why do SS speed runners use the Japanese (Sorry I don't know what language this is in) version? I know that the English has slow text speed, but is there another reason?
No,only because of text. If texts were same speed,English version would become faster. Because English version has special glitch in AncientCistern. But text is really really slow...

what does it do when you keep dying and running around on the file select screen?
I think it warps him to another location on the map, be messing with the saves. I remember a gdq speedrunner explain some of it, but I don't remember much. I wish I knew how he got 99 collectibles for every one though.
Wait, you are playing in Hero mode ? How can you have Demise and the last form of Ghirahim in the Lightning Rounds ?
This is hero mode, so we can fight with demise and ghirahim in Thunder Dragon Trial.
Hero mode is much faster than normal mode. Because we can skip CS by press 2 button. And skyward is very strong

@@keitsu2369 With Peatrice, you can either tell her you don't love her and her father give you a crystal, or you can tell her you do and she give you one. Seeing that she is the one giving you the crystal. Was wondering if rejecting her take more time.

It's not so slow actually. Maybe, about 30 minutes slower.
In any%,Glitchless is said 40 minutes or more less slower. So the difference becomes smaller I guess

I'm reseting. but I'm using wii,not wiiU. And wii has a reset button. It means I don't need to open home menu. So it's faster than wiiU

I'm reseting Wii right after selecting continue after dying. and that makes Link respawns in title menue skyloft.
but Link falls oob, so there is a cut scene which patrol man helps link. but that cs is glitched , so we can't see what happened. we can't control Link during that glitched CS

I played with hero mode.Hero mode is allowed in speedrunning. And Hero mode can take over the normal mode treasures and bugs.

green means that it's ahead from the personal best ,red is behind. Light green is slower than personal best in that segment, but ahead. Yellow is the best segment time.

What I don't understand is the constant suicides? I've played a lot of zelda games and never committed a suicide, death by stupidity in botw but never suicide.
In Skyward Sword, suicide is very useful to go back to check point,and it's also trigger of a warp glitch. So please remember this is speedrun
