- How to Cook Salmon in a Frying Pan. This salmon recipe is super easy, delicious, and healthy! When i started eating healthy I was afraid to make salmon for fear I would ruin it so I am sharing the recipe and method I use to get perfect tasty salmon every time.
Ingredients:
1 or 2 Salmon fillets
4 Tbls Olive oil (or butter)
1 clove garlic chopped
2 tsp lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
Heat olive oil on med heat just below it's smoke point. If the oil starts to smoke then lower the heat a bit. Add salt and pepper to taste on the meat side of the fillets and then place meat side down in the hot oil. Cook for 4-5 minutes without disturbing the fillets. Then flip over and add the lemon juice and garlic and cook until internal temp of the fillet reaches 145 degrees (approx 2-5 minutes). Sever and pour a teaspoon of the oil from the pan on each fillet to add extra flavor.
This man looks like he's 20 and 60 at the same time
😂🤣
Maaannn I was just thinking the same
As a Marine I’ll never understand why people love the high and tight fade so much. You have to touch it up literally once a week and honestly looks stupid now
Yes, not an ordinary appearance
@Luke Kantrell college* 🙃
I can't tell if he's 25 or 55
i’d say 55
The_SBoy _07 ok?
The last time that dude saw twenty-five was at least twenty-five years ago. Regardless of his actual age, he's MUCH too old for that ridiculous haircut. The salmon looked great, though, and the presenter has a very nice smile.
You can by looking at ppl hands
Lol
I once deep fried an apple
....Did it taste good?
H2O Cheerio The questions we all have but nobody answer us
@@taiyonnii I think it taste like baby food apple slices, which tastes decent. Dont ask me how I know what baby food taste like
mimt88 wtf
@@angelcalebbb4268 it tastes like they dehydrated the apple, made it a little softer, and put back the sweetness
Well gordon ramsay told me to cook with the skin side first🤔
I think that depends. Skin takes longer to heat. If you plan on using the skin end the cooking skin side down when the fish is done or close to
Always skin down
I totally agree I always cook skin side down as you coded by Gordon Ramsay and layaway this guy didn't follow that Too but I always find the fish not well done under the skin I mean not nicely golden brown that I like , let me try the same way this gentleman says tonight right now and I let you guys know if he is bullshiting or he is better than Gordon Ramsay stay tuned Gentlemen and ladies
@@TheAhmadnt9 So?
@@Pug893 so ,unlike Gordon Ramsay, I really liked the skin side up. , but I still prefer all other Gordon Ramsays recipes,
Cook my first salmon using your instructions. It’s perfect. I got my mom’s compliments 🎉
I never used to eat salmon till I started cooking it for my dad that was diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer's and I am so happy I usually cook it a different way but I'm going to do it this way today with a little zucchini on the side thank you so much this is so simple and healthy
I kinda almost think that you may have been high during this.
Keith Becknell I was thinking the same.
I don’t want what’s i their lungs that’s farm raised salmon 🤣
I got really excited because I thought you were talking about me
Lmao
😂😂
Tommy Shelby from Peaky Blinders has a cooking show?
Of course. Because "Good taste is for people who can't afford sapphires"
😂😂
My FRIST thought!
U taking the piss?😂😂
By the order of the Peaky Blinder
Such a great, no-nonsense video. You are super genuine, Dave! The kind of guy I'd love to have as a neighbor so we can exchange chicken recipes and garden herbs, and sometimes my mail gets delivered to your house so you bring it over and we chat on the porch and I bring you a glass of lemonade and you become best friends with my husband.
I am gonna cook salmon first time after watching your video. You both sound like good people. Thanks
Same here!

This is WONDERFUL! I just bought my first fresh salmon filet. Cost $25.00! So I didn't want to mess it up. Found your video. I fried mine just like you, and it was delicious! Thank you for sharing! Love, Brigitte in Tulsa Oklahoma 2/27/2021
Same here! First time buying salmon, I’m gonna try to make it :)
Stillwater ok here
Unfortunate, I live in the north east and salmon is very affordable here I eat it regularly
$25 a year ago?! I hope it was huge! Hey, next time, add some fresh thyme to the pan during the last few minutes of cooking - DELISH!
@@georgehenderson7783 - Well, hello! It’s $10 per pound. I buy 2.5 lbs - the whole slab. I fry up the whole thing, and it serves me several meals a week. The flavor WithOut seasoning, is so delicious. I usually eat it plain, over rice 🍚 and greens 🥬 for a side. Love ❤️ it.
Gotta love how everyone else in the comments are complimenting his cooking skills and the top comment is someone insults his looks. Never change RUclips.
Our culture is so sad. Very few people seem to care about real content. Tag lines, insults and looks are what rules the day. Covid has certainly unsocialized people.
I enjoyed this video. He is informative, well spoken and helpful. That's what I look for.
In africa (Ghana) ours style of cooking is different and i cook a delicious salmon very well both fried and grill while pepper ginger garlic and onion and other spices.. i will try your style too. Thank you
Indeed culture is dynamic. We all learned from each other. ❤️💯🤝
This is my 4th week in a row frying my fresh salmon 🍣 using your technique. It’s perfect every time. Thank you😃.
I had to try this ! Especially since I like my salmon a little bit of the crispy side. It came out so good, I was so surprised! Thank you for making this video, super easy recipe for beginners like myself 💕💕💕💕
I agree
@@Khbsrt decent salmon is pretty easy to make though... the natural flavor is nice to begin with
@@JoesPhenomenal I agree
Thank you I agree salmon on the crispy side is the best
Awe she really likes you! ❤️❤️❤️ cute ending, and thanks for the recipe!
Made this last night, and the wife said that salmon was the best she'd ever had. Thank you!
I love such recipes, everything is beautifully simple and clear!
That sure is a lot of olive oil! But you acknowledged your taste. To me a waste of good oil and likely overpowering the flavor of such a nice piece of Alaskan salmon. I definitely would only lightly coat the pan.
Yes indeed!
I know "Italian Olive Oil Police" that would come for his neck. LOL
I use no oil salmon itself has lots of oil
And skin side first... definitely crispy 😉
@@lordenlightenedluciferian and just salt and pepper? mighty white I see!
I tried many ways, but this method tasted the best!
I luv "things of garlic"
please stay down to earth and calm like this. really helps me fall asleep (in a good way!)
I just cook this recipe And it came out amazing thank you so much
Great job! It looks delicious! Thank you for this video! Blessings to you and your wife!
You know why lemon is added to fish or put on side as garnishment?¿
Because if the fish is not cooked fully the lemon will finish cooking it!
Alan Chung lemon can cook fish by itself. How do you think Ceviche is made ? My marinating raw shrimp with lemon till it’s not “raw” anymore
thank you for the tutorial. I'm putting what you showed us to work tonight.
I’m scared of hot grease popping on me 🤣
Yea
yes, it is a very scary thing!
It's an acquired taste
my mom used to wear sunglasses to fry things
Yea imagine that right in the eye
Hahhaa.. It's actually wholesome and funny that the lady jokingly called him a brat because he made a piece of salmon for himself only. But imagined if the roles were reversed where the husband calls his wife a brat because she didn't cook for him.. Mannn, the feminists would lose their s.h.i.t. and they'll say something like : "Uhhmmm she doesn't need to cook for you at all. Go make your own food".
Great video, thank you! RUclips gives us the wonderful opportunity to watch your progression over the last couple years from wanting precise measurements of each ingredient, to this video's much more "it's whatever you like, make it to your taste!" recipe. I've been on Plant Paradox 3.5 months, and have done more frying, baking sauteing, steaming, blending, food processing, and pressure cooking than my entire life prior. I really appreciate watching your step-by-step videos and your honest feedback when you eat the end results. Thanks again!
Thank you for your encouraging words and your support! Getting good at cooking is an extra benefit of being on this diet for sure 😎😁👍
Simple and delicious, thank you!..and you are a very nice couple.
Thank you for this! I bought salmon yesterday and didn't know it had skin on it and now I know how to do it 👍
Wow very easy, I will cook today for my employer.
Like your video bro, thanks 4 shearing. From Boston.. A big Like for ya.
Great video. Super clear and no ridiculous ingredients, thanks!
Cook it in grapeseed oil, higher temp before cooking off than olive oil, season with salt, sprinkle of olive oil when you flip it. Then a finishing splash of soy sauce. Rich color, sear, and improved taste.
I really enjoyed this video. I like the way you speak and how you choose to present the information.
So much oil in there !
This salmon is DELICIOUS! Thank you!
I tried this out and was so impressed on how simple and easy it turned out to be and how amazing it tasted. I recommend using already grounded salt though, it might just be my salt thing but it came out a little too big of salt chunks. Also added a light amount of Tony’s on each side to add some spice and made it even better
Thanks, that looks good & easy, I started incorporating Salmon in my diet now, Ty for your time!
I've never cooked before. I started it since my teenage daughter came to live with me last month. I will try your method to cook salmon for my daughter. Hope successful and she will like it. Will update you on this. Thanks for the video.
That wholesome ending got me smiling. Subscribed and liked !
Loved it
Khbsrt yeah, been making salmon this way since watching this haha
Thank you! I'm cooking my salmon tonight!
From personal experience, for more tender salmon meat, I suggest you to cook it slightly less than he did. You want to keep some pinkness and keep it less red. But that is if you are using sushi safe salmon meat. If you don’t know when it transforms from raw to cooked, I suggest you to not use regular salmon, use the sushi ones
The ending wholesome 👏
Soooo Yummy.. I cook mine that way as well.. Thank you for your videos!
Tried it and it tasted very good
I really recommend this
This is how I always cook salmon. It’s delicious!
Thank you! This was so helpful :)
I love how genuine you and your wife’s relationship is.
Boy this man about to make me cook!
I like salmon. I fry it in non stick pan with no oil . Salmos is a fat type of fish and while frying it you’ll notice the fat coming out from the fish. Too much oil makes it so unhealthy . Temperature must be low
ruclips.net/video/9OgRsx8Aiy8/видео.html exactly like this . Nice and easy
Wtf this pisses me off they never say what setting to put the stove on, I DONT KNOW WHAT “hot” MEAN
My understanding is that you wait until the oil shimmers, when the heat causes the oil’s surface to become uneven. But I’m also an idiot so “ouch that’s hot” happens quite a lot too.
I started at Med High to heat oil and fry skin up for 5 min. Then when I flipped it, I turned down to med, scooping oil over the top till it reached 145F (about 5 min. for large thick piece).
Means fire is at 4/5 of maximum heat. Many cooks gloss over it because it comes as second nature to them
depends on the oil you use. different oils burn at different temps. if using olive oil, med hi or high is good.... any lower and your crust wont be that crunchy and the salmon will start to absorb the oil
@@JoesPhenomenal ,,, I use olive oil. Using your technique at 5 minute each side. Perfect 👌. Plus I also check temperature like you did. My salmon 🍣 is amazingly delicious each time. So easy. Thank you😃.
I made this today and it worked out super well!
Other people: Some salt. Some pepper.
Hispanics: Some salt. Some pepper. Some adobo. Also you can add a wee bit of garlic or onion powder.
100% true fact.
Some people: OLD BAY
Thanks! Imma now gonna try it!!
New to your channel..I was actually searching for an easy recipe for change ..I have never used garlic when I fried salmon, nor cooked it meat side down first..doing it tonight though-thanks! 1/2/20 Happy New Year.
I listened to you and cooked for 5 minutes without checking it and I burned my salmon!! Thanks alot ….
Is it okay to add like a ton more seasoning before adding to the oil? I’ve never done anything close to deep fry or heavy oil, but I like to do a lot of diff seasonings. Does this affect the way the oil reacts? Thanks for the help!
if you do that, you'll lose a lot of seasoning in the pan. you can either just leave it skin side down in the pan, or you can brush with oil , season, and broil it in oven
It's interesting that he's cooking it with the skin side up. I've always heard that the skin must be facing down so that the salmon won't dry out. But given how much oil he's used, I can understand how his did not come out dry. Salmon is already a very oily fish though. I'm not sure if that much extra oil is the best idea?
I heard the same thing about the skin. Honestly his salmon looked pretty dry
i honestly thought the dudes mom came into the video until he said for his lover i was just like 😳😦😦
If I don't read this comment I would have thought that was his momma too..
Guy looks like Thomas Shelby got older and retired 😂/kinda a compliment thanks for the video
Hey that looks soooo good
You two are hilarious !!!
I am definitely going to give this a try today! I have gotten good at cooking salmon in my cast iron pan, but usually only with a little bit of oil. I love the way that fish looked cooked in deeper oil!
I'll try it in the Olive Oil this time, but next week I will take it for an Avocado Oil ride, and see how that goes. I love using them both in a lot of my cooking. The Avocado Oil is great for things that need higher heat, or that cook for longer periods of time, because of the higher flash point.
It was totally AWESOME!!!
Thanks So Much. I just cooked my very first Atlantic Salmon !!!
Thank you for this tutorial and your tips :) I failed at Salmon last year trying to make it in the oven so I wanted someone to help me with how to cook it in the frying pan and this worked WONDERS my bf loved it

Too much oil. Waste of foil. Not very practical
I am going to try this recipe tomorrow. Thank you
First video of yours I watched. Okay, so you two are adorable together! Will sub and watch more!!! Thanks for taking the time to show us "never cooked salmon before" people how it's done. Our 15yo absolutely loves salmon and that's what I am making him for breakfast right now. I hope to grow to love it myself. 47 yo and never had it. :-) PS Please tell your lover (ahhh) that I love love and love her Minnie Mouse scrubs!

Best video on cooking this ive seen, thanks mate 🤟
I've made this several times now and I love it. Tonight I put the garlic in too early and it came close to burning. Also the oil did smoke but the salmon did not burn. Nice and crispy 👌
On the Food Network they're always cooking skin side down first. I'm confused...but I'm gonna try this. It looks delicious.
Nice! Thanks for sharing! Now I’m going to go cook this! 😊
