Okay, for the last time, They Might Be Giants did not do this song. And I have no band. These were studio musicians put together by the late Eddie Horst, a very talented producer and friend of mine. We recorded it at Doppler Studios in Atlanta. I was the writer of this song, along with several other projects for Cartoon Network when I was there from 1998 to 2006. I've heard so many "definitive" answers about who did this and who didn't do this, only a small percentage of which are accurate. I'm flattered beyond imagination that people think They Might Be Giants did this. But they did not. Any official Cartoon Network pages including this song will tell you the same, as will anyone you contact at Cartoon Network.
Sounds legit. What about the rumor that Garrett Freireich did the vocals? Also, if you would have marketed this song (or if you do) you would have made so much money.
That's true, Garrett Friereich did sing it. And I was employed by Cartoon Network at the time, so they owned and still own all the rights to it. I wish I could have, though.
Prezzy Well the Gorrilaz are confirmed to take place in the same universe as PowerPuff Girls so I wouldn’t be shocked if I see 2D it Noodle around CN City.
Hey man. I'm just here paying my respects and listening to Mad mad world by Jumpsteady while I'm reminiscing about the old Cartoon network back in the 2000's. I was overwhelmed by nostalgia this bringing me back and I still think of it. I remember watching Cartoon network and Nickelodeon the most since then in my kindergarten, elementary and middle school days in 2002 to 09. But the saddest thing I haven't been watching any cartoon programs since 09, because of stupid CN real ruined everything. I tried to get back into it but nothing. In 2010 I remember getting into animes the most but I don't think that doesn't matter anymore. So here's for the old Cartoon network. Thank you for making my childhood memories fresh and you will be remembered in my heart.
I miss it too, CN's golden era is passed but it's not so bad for the current generation of kids. I'm sure the generation before me wanted me to experience the world as they did but change comes and it isn't necessarily a bad thing. Just because it's new doesn't mean it isn't great. Although it will never be as good as it was 10 years ago.
22 years old, still watch old Cartoon Network shows. And I still say there should be an angry mob of Old Cartoon Network fans out there. The new shows are really THAT bad
If i live long enough to where we get public access time travel vacations, I'm totally going back to the early 2000s and binging old Cartoon network for my vacations.
I miss those days being a kid, the long summer days playing outside and then coming in and watching cartoons in the late afternoon. l miss when life wasn't so stressful and I didn't know how ugly the world really was. I would give anything to relive my childhood again. this video is like a time machine back to 2002/03
I, for one, find it amazing to believe that it was exactly 10 whole years since since this 2 minutes and 21 seconds worth of nostalgia was uploaded to RUclips. Back then, the Powerpuff Girls was cancelled, CN City era was coming to a close, Foster's, Hi Hi PuffyAmiYumi, My Gym Partner's a Monkey, and all others were on the air but not 90s Classic, and throughout a whole decade Ed Edd n Eddy lasted with over 140 episodes. Can you believe that it was going to end on Season 4, but fans wanted the show to continue? I can't. Why? Because Ed Edd n Eddy outlasted all the other shows from the late 90s, it had a type of humor no other show contains, and it will always be one of Cartoon Network's long-running prized animated legends. As for this song, well, let's say it showcases another typical day for the Eds: minus the scams and Double D actually keeping dirty clothes under his bed.
I'm 25, am married and have 3 kids. I desperately wish that I could show my sons (and when she's old enough, my daughter) what CartoonNetweork was like as I was growing up. The musical shorts, quality writing, Toonami as a regular, mid day program... I don't have cable partially because our NEED bills are high enough as is (our electric company is raping our town so they can pay for a new power plant among other things) but I would consider adding it to our package if things were like this again
God I miss classic Cartoon Network. I still remember that cold January night when what would become my all time favorite cartoon premiered. I was 10 yrs old and had just finished an episode of Dexters Lab and then BAM! I witnessed the birth of something great.
I've been watching this video every day for a week. I'm about to turn 21 and even though it's been a while since I've been a kid... I still feel like it's only been a year or so. This song always makes me think about sitting around on a friday watching my favorite cartoons. Shows aren't any better or worse then they were "back in the day". It's all about perspective. Enjoy your memories, then you won't ever have to stop being a kid.
Stephen Sparacino Steven Universe is pretty good, my favorite new(ish) show is Regular Show, Adventure Time is good, Gumball is alright. Though 90s-2006 CN is still a lot better than those.
this is back when it was worth getting up early every Saturday to watch cartoons just to fall asleep after. when cartoons didn't try to mimic real life. when cartoons had no boundaries and taught us to think and dream the same. Ed, edd, and eddy may have been stupid, but it taught us that if you persist enough (and you're clever enough), you'll achieve your goals. man, I miss those days -3
I believe we are going through a cartoon recession. With the exception of Steven Universe, Regular Show, and Adventure Time etc., we will enter a new golden age of cartoons in a few years or so.
This one was always my favorite. Not only did it feature Ed Edd n' Eddy, the coolest guys on TV when I was growing up, but the song was just so damn cool sounding.
I was born in '96, so most of my childhood was early to mid 2000's, and I remember back when Cartoon Network(not CN) was a good thing with some swing and style. What happened to encourageing kids' creativety with bumbers and groovies like this? When did conforming become better than sticking out? Hope TOONAMI gives these kids something to remember.
Okay, I agree that the shows from 20 years ago were good. They really were. 92-2005 were great years for Cartoon Network. I have nothing against you if you say that you don't like the new shows, I get you. But the older shows were just as dumb. They were great, I swear, but just as dumb. They're not as great as you remember, because you were like, 9. I watch them today, because they're funny, and they remind me of when I was a little kid, but that's a big factor. I'm old, and jaded now. The kids today will grow up, and tell the younger kids next generation that their shows were better when they were kids. You know this to be true. Honestly, the new shows are not bad. Good animation, good use of colour, and comedy. Remind you of anything? I'm not saying you're an idiot, or whatever, by saying that the new shows are bad. Sure, there's not a lot of "Incredible Shrinking Day" moments that you see, but there is still great stuff out there, you just have to look.
You're pretty spot on. I can tell you for sure, that I often get flak for saying I have nostalgia for those older Cartoon Network shows. It's gets me pretty mad, that others would be defensive and think that only their generations could have the same feelings for the same shows. I'm hitting 16. Soon I'll have a car (probably a cool hot rod or something), and most likely a job too. I grew up with the older generation of cartoons more so than the shows after the millenium. Nostalgia stings, and I can say I most certainly can feel the nostalgia of this. I wanna hold on to that nostalgia for Ed, Edd, and Eddy and other shows, because some day I may never remember those days, my personal days only I've been through in my own unique way. Nobody can tell me I can't feel it, because I watched and loved those shows the same way they did and my age should have no part in it.
I've never understood why we can't just say that each generation has some good stuff and some bad stuff. I may have enjoyed shows from the early 2000's like KND and Samurai Jack, but I love stuff like Regular Show and Adventure Time. You don't like these shows, fine you're entitled to your opinion, just don't get in somebodies face and say "THOSE SHOWS SUCK AND YOU'RE AN IDIOT FOR LIKING THEM!"
***** I like Regular Show and Adventure Time, but the thing about those shows is they have a lot of adult innuendo to the point I question whether they can be called kids shows. I'll probably sound old for saying this, but I think the older shows had a cleaner sense of humor and creativity. I don't see much I can really compare to stuff like Samurai Jack, Dexter's Lab, Ed Edd n Eddy, etc, or the memorable moments from those shows. Like you said other generations probably won't think the same way, but it's certainly a lot different from the shows I grew up with.
DreamStepper That's not too surprising. The creators of those shows have said that really they just create stuff they themselves enjoy and the network just says it's for kids. I admire that and honestly when you look at stuff like Rocko's Modern Life and Animaniacs you realize that they actually had a lot of adult jokes too.
This was my favorite of the Cartoon Network Groovies... Which makes sense because this was one of my favorite shows on Cartoon Network at the time, other than Powerpuff Girls and Dexter's Lab.
Ah~ My childood... before everything went to hell in a hand basket in 2006. Now we've got shows like Teen Titans Go, a marvel created by people who openly admitted to never even seeing the original before making theirs. Really, with everything being replaced with Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack and Chowder clones, we should have SEEN this coming.
bioniclebuu I agree wholeheartedly, those were both good, though I think it went in 2006. But I think the directors saw how well they did and decided that the random, silly aspect of those shows was somehow the missing link, because they tried to recreate the feeling over and over again, and failed. There used to be so many shows on CN that they had to shuffle the lineup, and there was something for everyone. Now there's so little there, and there's almost no variety. I understand that they want comedy, but shows can have a decent balance, like Teen Titans or KND did. It feels like they're treating kids like idiots who can only understand silly, over exaggerated, or simplistic cartoons with no real depth to them.
elderwolves I know how you feel man. The only shows that ever get screen time that i ever see is Adventure time, Gumball, and Regular show. It just feels like they lost their way and have resulkted in one form of humor Just plain dumb random which gets boring after a while
bioniclebuu Yup, it's the effort, the CARE, the love of storytelling that's missing. Which is why I'm looking to Pixar, you can see in their shorts and commercials that a good animation can still be found~ Inside Out is going to be epic~
Lyrics Sun's up, I hit the floor Shoes tied, I'm out the door Is this a clean shirt? Damn man there used to be some many comments on this video before the RUclips Kids thing deleted them 14 years of history gone. my old account comments gone R.I.P
No matter how old I get, now matter how much profanity I spew, no matter how mature I ever feel, I will not, WILL NOT, ever stop smiling when I watch this. Define timeless, this takes it. I'll love Old Cartoon Network, EEnE and everything Cartoon Cartoon until the day I die...
I like to think that this video actually meaning is about the coming of age, this because: All the shrinking and growing up of the Ed´s, the song lyrics about leaving and having more friends "that dont include you", the fact that Sarah is the actual protagonist of the video and she uses the Eds to play dolls. It´s like a dream/fantasy of Sarah wishing-remembering the times when her brother Ed was younger and played more with her, before he only hang out with Eddy and Edd. (I know, the feels). You can see Ed it´s the only one that enjoys playing a doll (until Eddy and Edd "appeared"), also he´s the last one in growing up and when he does the song and game ends, also from 1:55 you can see a picture of Ed and Sarah in the window of her room.
Love all the old shows on cartoon network im happy I was able to enjoy them cartoonnetwork shows sucks now I only wacth regular show thats the best they have thats will become a classic ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I love this song, and this is such a huge part of my childhood i still remember the Lyrics, but think the one part that blew my mind was 0:14 where the only time you see Double D acting like a kid then a genius/ clean/organize freak.

wish i could download and listen to the song without the cartoon sound effects... the music is really good
That song its epic makes me feel like a kid again i just love it
Stuart Hill p
The animation looks like something the Gorillaz would do.
look at CN City bumpers then look at Feel good music video
Os true
Gorillaz in a nutshell
@@Yoshikage8008 i always thought both cities look similar
Prezzy Well the Gorrilaz are confirmed to take place in the same universe as PowerPuff Girls so I wouldn’t be shocked if I see 2D it Noodle around CN City.

Wish I was back in 2002 such a great groovie.
I was 11 watching Cartoon Network with no cares. Hanging out with my parents and brothers. Life was good

yeah I'm not mad at ya and I won't stoop to cursing, but why state the obvious and bring about depression
Fuck off 😭
Should've been called "Honey, I Shrunk The Ed."
Lol it should
Gasp, I never would've guessed.

Artist: Garrett Freireich
Lyrics by: Stewart Hill
We need Cartoon Network Groovies to be back on television :,D
here here.
steven310250 so say we all
Yeah but that includes .that they ruin it too
It’s good to see the old classic Cartoon Network.
Even as a kid I thought that this was really weird and trippy. Yet I always watched it...
Exactly Sarah doesn't like her big brother and his two friends
(she does have feelings for double d though sometimes)
If i live long enough to where we get public access time travel vacations, I'm totally going back to the early 2000s and binging old Cartoon network for my vacations.
😂true but I will go to 2005 as I was born in 2000
I watched this when I was a kid. Now I'm 21 and I still watch them cause I like it still.
all the nostalgia
I didn't know the SCP foundation had internet access.
Fukkin' burns doesn't it?
Red x not really.
Wow, this video is almost a legal adult. How time flies...
I miss those days being a kid, the long summer days playing outside and then coming in and watching cartoons in the late afternoon. l miss when life wasn't so stressful and I didn't know how ugly the world really was. I would give anything to relive my childhood again. this video is like a time machine back to 2002/03
i feel you bro... the good old times
Rebel taxi you are a saint for making me remember these little gems
Yo tenía 8 años en 2003 que nostalgia 😭
Dilo duro
I, for one, find it amazing to believe that it was exactly 10 whole years since since this 2 minutes and 21 seconds worth of nostalgia was uploaded to RUclips. Back then, the Powerpuff Girls was cancelled, CN City era was coming to a close, Foster's, Hi Hi PuffyAmiYumi, My Gym Partner's a Monkey, and all others were on the air but not 90s Classic, and throughout a whole decade Ed Edd n Eddy lasted with over 140 episodes. Thanks for making me realizing how many years has passed since this was aired. I remember like it was yesterday too. Good times

wtf
I'm crying so much. they will never be forgotten.
This sounds like the opening theme to every summer break in the 90s.
I gonna cry
Dang we need make cartoons great again
God I miss classic Cartoon Network. I still remember that cold January night when what would become my all time favorite cartoon premiered. I was 10 yrs old and had just finished an episode of Dexters Lab and then BAM! I witnessed the birth of something great.
nostalgia is killing me aah
The song is called I'm not coming in anymore by Garrett Freireich.
Wow...this takes me back~ :3
never thought of sarah as the science type
I've been watching this video every day for a week. I'm about to turn 21 and even though it's been a while since I've been a kid... I still feel like it's only been a year or so. This song always makes me think about sitting around on a friday watching my favorite cartoons. Shows aren't any better or worse then they were "back in the day". It's all about perspective. Enjoy your memories, then you won't ever have to stop being a kid.
I Remember Seeing this on Boomerang (2000-) And I Remember Seeing this on Cartoon Network 30th Birthday in October 2022
The ending always made me feel sad when the eds got knocked out lol. And now I'm tearing up. What the hell happened CN? smh...
Man fuck today's Cartoon Network. It took a giant step back
there are always good shows that make up for all the crap. there is always crap in animation eras but there is more than just crap in animation eras
It's much better now. It used to be complete shit
This era of Cartoon Network is way better than their stupid live action shows
Stephen Sparacino Steven Universe is pretty good, my favorite new(ish) show is Regular Show, Adventure Time is good, Gumball is alright. Though 90s-2006 CN is still a lot better than those.
***** Agreed !
0:57 Ed is too happy....he knows those are just dolls right? XD
July 2006? This has to be one of the first videos on RUclips.
1 year late.

2020 bring back mash ups of old and new like they use to do
OMG.. NOSTALGIA.. childhood 😓😓😓 Didn't realise back then that we were living the best part of our life with CARTOON NETWORK
This one was always my favorite. Not only did it feature Ed Edd n' Eddy, the coolest guys on TV when I was growing up, but the song was just so damn cool sounding.
Bruh. Why is this style so goated
Now this has been in the back of my mind, been looking for this for so long
Hey 90's babies. You're childhood is glad you visited.
estos eran los mejores tiempos de CN. es una lastima que lo hayamos perdido...
these were the best moments for CN. it's a shame that we lost it...
Been searching all over for this, thank god I found it. It feels like you have to search very hard to find memories like these.
Como olvidar esos videos musicales que aparecian en cartoon

take me back
I remember singing this song and my best friend plank in elementary school. Shit, typing that last sentence brought a tear to my eye. I love you dude.
Cartoon Network should a release a album with awesome songs they used for those shoes. One of these being this one

Haha this used to always creep me out. I'm looking up all these commercials now. Power of the Internet right here.
This takes me back.
im gonna sing this to my boss
ewwwwwwwwwwwwww
In tears and nostalgia.... Childhood is the golden time period of every human. With time we become busy and stuck in our lives...
Lyrics
Sun's up, I hit the floor
Shoes tied, I'm out the door
Is this a clean shirt?
I think it was one yesterday
Free day, I'm on the phone
No plans, I got the cell on
I call my boys up
Spend a little time outside today
Never liked being in when I gotta be
Never liked being told who I gotta see
I like no commitment growing up around me
I'm not coming in anymore
Everything I want and need is just outside this door
I'm not coming in anymore
I've got too many friends on the outside
That don't include you
Go ahead and think what you might
All my friends' angles and insight
All kinds of facts and probabilities
You say we lack rhyme or reason
I say we're meant for all seasons
We scream with endless possibilities
Spend a lot of time trying to convince me
My friends are two strikes against me
Well I swing for the fences
So that must make strike three
That's fine by me
I'm not coming in anymore
Everything I want and need is just outside this door
I'm not coming in anymore
I've got too many friends on the outside
That don't include you
Don't include you
Nothing ever seems right
Like it does when I start
Playing in the right speed, cooking in the right part
I like things familiar
And I don't belong here
Don't belong here
I'm not coming in anymore
Everything I want and need is just outside this door
I'm not coming in anymore
I've got too many friends on the outside
The plan's on the outside
That don't include you
Not coming in
Not coming in
Not getting back
Intercontinental Champion i believe it's crapscallion
Thx for the lyrics.
Trip Away Right on!!!!!
Quisuera volver a los tiempos de cuando era un niño... cuando mi unica preocupacion era no perderme los dibujitos de cartoon.. :,)
When I clicked on the link to this video, I didn't quite remember what this was, but the nostalgia hit me like a freight train a couple seconds in.

La mejor infancia 😳
Take me back to 2003.
I will once you remove the Snoke cancer
I like to think that this video actually meaning is about the coming of age,
this because: All the shrinking and growing up of the Ed´s, the song lyrics about leaving and having more friends "that dont include you", the fact that Sarah is the actual protagonist of the video and she uses the Eds to play dolls.
This song fits so perfectly when I play Dead Rising 2 for some reason.
The memories... why do they hurt and make me cry but also make me smile
It's so cool how much effort cn put back then in making their channel great cuz we don't see these and those bumpers these days on cn.
