I am a big Salyer fan and I love this tune. It'll be the next tune I learn for sure. Really nice fiddling. Check out the tune Lady on the Green that is credited to Bob Walters. Great tune in A (either cross or standard, but he played it in standard).

Thanks David. I will check that out. Coincidentally my take on Rye Whiskey that I happened to post today is mostly from Bob Walters version.

Thanks Steve………………I’m a clawhammer kind of guy who doesn’t play in a band and due to covid the regular jam I attend has been suspended for some time. Result is that my timing sucks and I’m not learning many new tunes. Your videos are a welcome relief………..for 30 years I struggled with the second part of “Lady of the Lake” but thanks to your video and the ability of RUclips to slow it down and keep the pitch the same I figured the booger out…………I think.
Point is that I enjoy and appreciate playing along with your uploads. Keep up the good work and thanks!
    Cute child too………….
    Sincerely,
    Jim in Ohio, USA

I love your Fiddling. I'm not sure what they call "old-time fiddlin" is that "old-time" today in the younger generations but you nail it.

She's mostly pretty respectful of my being in the zone when fiddling. But God forbid I should try singing songs originally sung by women. She flips her lid.

That was wonderful! I started fiddle in June 2022 at the age of 48. Old time is the only style I really love, but I'm having trouble because I haven't been able to afford a teacher. I sure wish someone from the older generation in my family played, but no one did. I'm having fun trying though. You sure sound good on your fiddle.
    Keep on.
    Aaron.

Thanks Aaron. Just watched your vids of your nice fiddles. You are sounding good. Nice intonation and clear phrasing. You can learn more Old Time bowing style as you go but you have a real solid foundation to build on. I started in mid 40's too. (60 now). It's never too late.

Hi Aarron, I started at age 68 and less than three years into it, I am a regular at our local old time jam. Keep it up and practice every day and you can get there! You can learn a lot from watching You Tube videos like Steve here!

@kcalhoun32 thank you for your encouragement. I really appreciate it. I tried to give you a thumbs up, but accidentally bumped to thumbs down button. I didn't have my glasses on. Sorry about that. Thanks again for the kind words. It's good to know I'm not the only one starting out late in the game.
      God bless you.

Probably my favorite rendition of this tune uploaded to YT at this point. I think it sounds better played out of G, if only because the banjer sounds better without a capo, but I won't hold that against you.

Thank you so much Zach. Well I def think it wants to be in cross but for sure it could be GDGD and would sound growlier there.
