I've been thinking about getting in to tech and switching careers. I feel lost not knowing what to get into one day I say cybersecurity, information management systems or artifical science. But I haven't done anything just all talk
This is such a well thought out video! I would've found this super useful as a uni student figuring out which path in the tech industry I wanted to embark on.
Way to go Sandra! Excellent content. I'm consistently impressed by how much information you put in these videos. I hope you guys are enjoying your new location and having fun!!
Aw thanks so much John! ☺️ Really appreciate your support, also thinking about posting vids 3 vids a week if i can get an editor, thanks for being here since day 1!! 😆
Thank you! Love videos like this. Hits a lot of Q’s&A’s in mind when trying to navigate the next best move for anyone’s particular goal or/and end goals. I appreciate your help 🙏🏻
Wow thanks so much Eddie! :) Really glad these videos have been helpful for you, let me know if there’s any other video topics you might want to see! 😄
Does anybody know of any online programmes/tools (maybe even games?) that allow you to play around with different tech operations to get a feel of what you prefer and/or you’re better at? I wanna try a bunch of tasks like css, scriptwriting, etc., just to see if I can actually grasp it and enjoy it 😅
I don't think something like this exists. If you're interested in tech, just get up, pick one random language from the most popular ones and play with it. You don't like it? It's okay, there are many other languages. Btw, there are some apps/websites that are designed to teach you a new language. There's Sololearn, Mimo, W3Schools, etc.
Good choice but I would recommend an internship or coop to make sure it is what you want. Expect to see more accountants in those corporate auditing gigs of IT functions
Really enjoying your videos. I’m trying to breakthrough into cyber security field have been working in IT for 5 years now with a IT degree also have the security + but it’s not been easy. How did you find working in information governance? I was close to applying for a job in that but it’s quite different to cyber security.
Hey! I really love this video! I'm trying to get into IT at the moment but I honestly don't know what I want to do yet. I would like get a job where I don't interact with people a lot unless I need help or some advice. Do you know any IT jobs that fit that field? Also I love your eyeliner and your eyeshadow!
lol most people get into hectic degrees like my medicine friends because money is the main factor , I think a career or job should be something that allows you to to live out your dreams not , centre your life around your job
I don’t think humans 10 000 yerats ago were bothered about doing something they’re passionate about as a career , they were only bothered about how can I make my living experience easier.
Sandra, thank you for this. If you are interested in tech but in a creative field like fashion for example, are there certain fields you recommend or are more common in those areas?
Hey Sandra! Do you have knowledge about the Application Security Engineer role? I heard that you need a couple years of experience as a dev before leaning towards the ASE role, or do you think a Comp Sci degree with some security certs would suffice to get into a security engineering role? Thanks for the great video!
Hi thanks so much for your video. I dislike coding, i just dont find it interesting at all, and my brain doesnt problem solve like that. I have taken database managment, and microsoft admin classes along with python and c++ at my community college. I really didnt care for any of them. But if i HAD to do one, it would probably be an admin. Im wondering do you have advice for me for what might be a good path. I have to work remote due to a disability, with zero tech experience. I have worked remote for 4 years in unrelated field. I have to be able to walk away from my desk at times, so customer service, or heavy meetings, or phone calls i would be unreliable. I am interested in the idea of cybersecurity but i really have no idea of the realities of the position. I am creative and i like to design, i also dont feel smart enough for half of these roles. I can enroll in whatever major i want but i am completely stuck. I just want to make sure i set myself up for entry level remote work, and i would like to interact with people, but more on a one to one basis, and like i said be able to walk away when i need to without being penalized.
@@user-xf7mu7ub9d yes i am interested in that, or web development, i am trying to find a program that has a bit of software development and web development or graphic technology combined so i can utilize both skill sets. Because how can you judge something. When you’ve not gained experience or a lesson of how it is , you can’t say you don’t like playing a sport if your never played it , you’ll only truly know YOU enjoy or don’t like it if you’ve actually tried it , that’s the approach I’m taking as I venture into tech , but I too have let’s say “soft” interests into web development and UI/UX , graphic design
reading about people grabbing multi-figures monthly as incomes in investments even in this crazy days in the market, any pointers on how to make substantial progress in earning? would be appreciated.
The best piece of advice would be to not put too much in cryptocurrencies. Most have no actual use except for those who are already wealthy to pump and dump.
I wish you dumbed this down for people who have no idea what you’re talking about. you threw in pent tester like it’s a common word & capture the flag.. please explain better in future videos
