I ran a fuel pump relay kit to the fuel pump. Summit, Jegs, Amazon, and Ebay sells them. 12 volt key on power will bypass the vatts fuel shut off system. I jumped the 12 volt power line off of engine bay. Google has multiple diagrams showing how to do this. Good luck with your build! 👍www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/10564/10002/-1?gclid=Cj0KCQjwz8emBhDrARIsANNJjS6ia4x-zphk6QnKIiMl1jXP__w3EJnbRLgiRMh4xOOS4xqJcNbTj8QaAoqnEALw_wcB
Need to explain how you got your he fuel to be delivered. By removing all the 8 fuel injectors because of the Corvettes computer. And how you hooked up the distributor to fire at the right timing for each cylinder. Unless you installed a aftermarket fuel pump like a mallory? I’m about to install a 454 in my 1992 LT 1 Corvette. I don’t think a Corvette came from the factory with a four 454 back in 1974 I think.
I also planned on a big block swap into my c4 but the suspension and exhaust modifications are currently too time consuming from my other projects and I hope you upload a video when completed. I will try to answer your comment if I understand your question about fuel delivery correctly. This is a carb swap and no fuel injectors are used. The computer has nothing to do with the carburetor system except to control the fuel pump. I have a 12 volt relay circuit used separately for fuel pump from factory setup. It just uses 12 volt key on to activate the fuel pump with it's own fused link. My fuel pump is upgraded Edelbrock EFI that is regulated by a billet ATI regulator that utilizes the return fuel line to prevent dead heading into carb. The ignition system is a MSD box and coil to MSD small cap distributor. I will update a video to go over all of this soon to help show this better.
I have a 84 I am doing this to I done the intake swap done the carb I put a chevy luv 5psi fuel pump in tank works but I am still having issues on pressure to my carb my fuel pressure regulator still not helping
Not sure of question? If about fuel maybe get higher gph and psi rating and be sure to use the return fuel line with new fuel filter. Plus make sure to use inline fuel pressure gauge.
Like your setup Sir! I'm finishing up on a car conversion for an 86 . How much cooler/warmer does it run without the radiator shroud? Definitely looks a lot cleaner!
I have the shroud on over the radiator currently, but in this video I didn't have any issues with the temps. I have the fans running all the time on high which helps but is kind of loud and keeps my temps around 185-190F. Eventually I plan on setting up my fan relay to turn on and off with a relay switch at 185/170. Good luck with your project! 👍
Hey got a quick question did you have to do any wiring for the hei distributor if so what and I noticed you got rid of the smog pump did you make that bracket or buy it
I am using the MSD small cap points style pro billet distributor with a brand new "NOS" 1995 MSD non digital ignition box. I've been around awhile now and have some hoarded parts in my basement. I thought I uploaded a video of it. If I forgot will do so later today.
If switching to a carb for drag racing only the computer is not required. No real need to rip it out though on a street car since it controls other smaller electronics in car. Not sure if it could also effect the VATS inside?
I was using Brodix IK200 heads on that engine. Just watched again and realized I didn't mention it. You can still buy them from Summit racing or Jegs. The latest video uploaded shows the Dart 406 engine that is in it now. Thanks for watching and good luck with your build! 👍
I am currently using edelbrock torker II , but originally used a summit dual intake that they may have quit making (summit racing intake stage 1 part number SUM-226012). Can also use edelbrock performer dual plane intake. With stock hood not a lot of choices.
1982-1992 corvettes use the non electronic controlled 700R4 also called 4L60. Yes, it will be able to function like normal automatic transmission funtions but will require a holley carb 700R4 cable braket plus an adjustable TV cable. All of these are available from Jegs or Summit.
I bought my 1994 auto already carb swapped. I have been having trouble with my car getting stuck in second gear and causing it to overheat. All the mechanics I’ve taken it to have said that it won’t shift properly because it was carb swapped. Any help or tips?
That's correct that a 1994 electronic 4L60E transmission will not shift without the proper computer controlled harness parts. You can get a TV driven 4L60 from Summit or Jegs to replace your current transmission. Your other options are to get a stand alone transmission harness from TCI or other aftermaket company to control your current transmission. Another option is to use a manual valve body to override the transmission computer system or look on Ebay for a manual 4L60E transmission harness plug in adapter. I built a custom TH350 transmission for mine because I build transmissions professionally for racing. Good luck.
Yes. I have another video showing that. They all hook up like they are supposed to engine normally. The intake and carb swap have nothing to do with instrument cluster gauges anyways so should not be an issue for you.
@@djrowe10 Ok. I just need an dual plane intake manifold with a Holley 670 cfm carburetor an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and a non computer controlled HEI distributor?
Can use dual plane or single plane manifold that will fit under stock hood. That is about all thats needed except you need a a carburetor linkage bracket and a special fuel pressure regulator that uses tension springs inside to step down the high fuel pressure 45psi to lower at 6psi for carb. Aeromotive makes one and Holley also. I will upload the new Dart 406 engine I have in today. I forgot to do that weeks ago. Can also add parts list.
@@djrowe10 That's the key thing is keeping it under the stock hood. The ECU will still control the electric fans. My research tells me that I will loose a small amount of low end torque, gain on average 30hp from just doing a carb swap. Thank for the info.
Can see updated engine video here : ruclips.net/video/OXgJQodDCng/видео.html
My cousin is in the process of doing this to his 84!
Good luck with his build! Corvettes are the best 👍
Thanks for the update mine almost looks exactly the same
No problem 👍

What heads are you using. Those don't look like the factory 113 castings.

Can you still close the hood with a air filter on the top?
Hood closes no problem. 😎
What is the intake you bought looking to do the same mine got wiring issue 85 c4 l98

Was the intake manifold a direct bolt on or did you have to mod it?
All gen 1 sbc intakes will be a direct fit to 1984-1991 TPI 350 engines. No modifications necessary. Good luck with your build!
@@djrowe10 okay thanks
How much more horsepower where you making with just the carb alone?
This current engine has only ran a carb and has never dyno'd with fuel injection to compare. Last 383 fi to carb swap gained 47 HP.
Are you able to still use the factory gauge cluster? Speedometer, tachometer, oil, water temperature, fuel gauge? If so how do you wire it up?

Are you using the stock fuel pump?
I did have stock GM pump for 3 years but for new motor installed the Edelbrock EFI pump upgrade for supercharger setup.
What size is the return line ?
Just the stock return line which is 3/8" I believe.
I have a 91 have everything completed ready to start up could you explain what bracket you use to hook up your
