Can we all give the VA props for managing to play a complete wimp 95% of the time but still managing to come off as a complete badass? That's range. And that's honestly a really big ask for a part. So damn.
Zenitsu is my favorite character by far in this anime. Canonically, the art we see from other character's breathing techniques aren't actually there. The special effects are there in the manga to help us differentiate between techniques, understand the point of each technique a little better by comparing it to things in the real world, etc. Not Zenitsu though, he's the exception. Zenitsu moves so fast his after image looks like a lightning flash, and he creates a pressure wave that sounds like a thunderclap. He's the only person in the entire anime whose effects from his breathing techinques are real. So badass
I think the biggest letdown from the series is the fact none of it is there lol. Kind of lame imo. Especially since they go through the whole point of making it beautiful solely for visuals and not story telling.
Not to mention the other superpowers we see. The enhanced senses, future sight, cutting a damn boulder, hell even Tengen not having severe tinnitus. There is a big reason a lot of the fan base just flat disagree with the author there, there are simply too many examples shown.

When Zenitsu was first introduced as comic relief, I was quite disappointed because the dark tone and that feeling of inevitable misery i liked this show for disappeared... but these moments make up for it
