I've been throwing big baits going on my 4th year. Originally from southwest Ohio I didn't have to many opportunities to catch really big ones there but I've moved to southern SC 2 n half years ago now. I've done well fishing big baits down here. My 1st year I upgraded my PB to a 7.89. You gotta keep it in your hands & throw it all day. Sometimes you can go days without a bite or follow. But when you do get that big bite, all the time spent is worth it! Fishing them is a a different mindset & is usually a hero or zero outcome. Quality over quality. These days I prefer 8-9 inch baits for more drawing power & reduce bites from smaller fish .I've lost count of all 4-5-6 pounders I've caught? I don't even way them now unless I'm sure their over 6 lbs. My 5 biggest largemouth for 2023 was 7.4 - 8.05 - 8.6 - 9.3 & my current PB an 11.4 & I also lost 2 huge ones right next to my kayak, that I got a good look at in the 8-10 pound range. That always hurts!!! Stay positive & Good luck!
