    @TheLusianPopa 7 лет назад +64

    frank is right.He clearly said why modern bb have no proportions or aesthetics.They're legs ( thighs) are too big, midesctions are wide and thick , huge traps and they have subpar calves and forearms.Only improvement they made was shoulders got bigger, maybe the bigger backs too but that is largely lost due to biggest waists.So even if they have much bigger backs the efect is diminished and v tapers less impressive.

    Mr. Zane is amazing. I talked to him several times in the late 60's and early 70's. The conversion would start out with, I would like a banana and strawberry smoothie. He would put down the jugs of fruit juice and mix my drink and then go back to exercising with the jugs while you asked him questions. A very intelligent and affable man. I knew he was a chemistry teacher but I could never figure out why he was working at a Jack LaLanne's European Health Spa. In those days I was interested in bulk but gave up on that and went for a leaner, more aesthetic look after chatting with him. I never wanted to be a body builder but I did want a good looking body that could do what I wanted. Least you laugh at a Jack Lanne spa, this was the same spa that Chuck Norris worked out at and even gave classes. Just think, me, Norris and Zane at the same time. Okay Norris and Zane and hundreds of nobodies like myself but still.... Those were the days. Good to see Mr. Zane is still at it.

He might not be the same condition as he was back then due to age, but honestly, I look up to him so much more than the pro bodybuilders of today because he has had arguably one of the most aesthetic physiques around which did not look freaky. +Christopher Wood I don't think Reeves could beat Zane objectively speaking, Reeves was natural throughout most of his career, there is some speculation that he used later on but it comes off as hearsay from what I've read.
      However whether Reeves would or wouldn't win a contest against Zane doesn't change the fact that he is my favorite all time bodybuilder, and I think it's fair to say that Zane was the Reeves of his era in any event, and I have great respect for both men for their contributions to bodybuilding.

      That depends though buddy. Depends on how much coffee you're drinking. Plus pre-workouts don't only have caffeine in them, take a look at the ingredients. I personally don't drink coffee nor pre-workouts. But i have taken pre-workout before and let me tell you a cup of coffee has never ever in my life made me feel that way. In my opinion pre-workouts are worse. And if you drink coffee do it in moderation too.

    Hey, did you hear that folks? Frank said he ran a mile and a half every night prior to competition..And it didn't "destroy his gains", as all the modern day bullshit mags will tell you! :)

      +spongeboynumber1 Ofcourse no gainz where lost. He was juiced to the tits lol.
      As a natural bodybuilder tho it's a different story, But if done right the muscle loss will be minimal.

      Do i look like i need to be jealous ? And jealous of what ? Did i claim somewhere to be losing gainz ?
      If you're talking about gear, you're not even worth replying to since it's fucking obvious he was on chemicals. It takes one to see one.

    notice how he says "what people call symmetry in bodybuilding" and not "symmetry." shows Zane is a real math guy. it probably bothered him how the word is misused in bodybuilding.
    great guy.

    • @TheCorrectionist1984
      @TheCorrectionist1984 8 лет назад +2

      i may have been a little over exuberant in saying misused, but symmetry does not literally mean "correct or pleasing proportion of the parts of a thing." that is one of the definitions. in fact, it is probably the second or third definition. to a science person like frank and myself, we go by the first definition you will see in every dictionary which exact similarity of measure. as, after all, the etymology of symmetry refers to measurement.

    • @TheCorrectionist1984
      @TheCorrectionist1984 8 лет назад

      and, again, that's why he said "what people in bodybuilding call symmetry."

    Just like Zane says it depends on who gives the advice, i hear so much crap in the gym.

    • @CodiTheJedi
      @CodiTheJedi 9 лет назад +1

      Z Lahaye This is why I never give advice. I've only been lifting a little over a year and know I don't know shit. I have learned somewhat about what works for me, but I wouldn't even want to try and tell someone else what to do, since they aren't me.
      There is a man at my gym that I call "the coach". He goes up to everyone and tries to critique them and tell them how to make the movement harder etc. Like Frank says, there are a lot of ways to body build. There is not one right, perfect way.

    • @bbrockRailFan
      @bbrockRailFan 9 лет назад +4

      Z Lahaye I notice allot of younger guys love to toot their horn and do all these odd ball looking movements and roam around the gym with a tall milk shake looking bottle. I also notice most of them train in packs like a bunch of hounds. The person I would get with is a quite older guy who has some decent size and a quality physique and its obvious he knows what he is doing and has paid his dues. I would stay away from the kiddy pool.
