You must use the titanium cone if you burn wood. The aluminum one will melt with a wood fire. I have a diy one and love it

I do have the titanium one but I had never considered that a fire would melt through an aluminum one. Thanks for the heads up.

Just clicked to say I have a caldera cone system I’ve used once. It is not better or lighter than my homemade pot stand / windscreen. It is much heavier and not as versatile as my home made one.

Was it this same system? It is made to work exactly with a specific pot. The cone is less than an ounce, so pretty difficult to get much lighter, especially since it also works of the stand. Cool if you found something that works better though.
