During Dalton’s time and Cincy, big Ben and the Steelers were 3-14 against Dalton and the Bengals. But I always remember those games were real close and Dalton always played really well in those games. I remember not looking forward to the Bengals games because he was so good. Once Zack Taylor got there he pushed Dalton out so he could draft to borrow and he’s had some ups and downs, but I never thought he was washed.

You can tell when national sports media doesn't actually follow a team. Being local we could see that Bryce was the issue. I agree last year was hard on him but he still has a responsibility to perform at least a little and Bryce hasn't done that...yet.
Word is, players already knew Dalton should have been starting over Bryce. He outperformed him in practice and workouts. Imagine the mindset as they were getting "hosed" with Bryce.
Seahawks fan here. To say that the Panthers are the worst organization ever is not entirely fair, we remember when Ron Rivera, Cam Newton and Luke Kuechly were fighting us with San Fran to go to the Superbowl for about 5, 6 years. Those were very good teams
Bryce Young is just too small to play QB as a starter in the NFL. He's not just short, he's thin too, supposed to be 204 lbs but no way. He's probably 190 at best.
The media is so hell bent on making it seem like it’s the team and organization fault and nothing on Bryce because they are the same ones who were making it seem like he was the next Drew Brees coming out of college and they absolutely hate to be wrong because hey they are the “experts”

Andy Dalton has been a pro bowl quarterback & it is not surprising that he played well on Sunday. Hopefully he continues to do so. The Oakland Athletics are arguably a worse run franchise these days than the Carolina Panthers are.
Dalton is a good backup QB, who showed it in Dallas. But get real...they were playing the Raiders this week so everyone saying Bryce is the ONLY reason they were losing....we'll see when the competition gets better. Bryce is not ready for the NFL but also not the only problem in Carolina.

Going forward I dont expect Dalton to lead this group to the post season...but he does make this offense at least watchable...Bryce Young is not watchable without breaking your lamps or remotes. Just my opinion.
All last week it was all about Giants and Panthers competing for 0-17 or even each going 0-16-1 (they tie with each other - they face each other later this year). Now, after Monday's games, both those teams are safe with at least 1 win locked up and you have the Bengals, Jags, and Titans with 0-3 starts. Wow.
The same team that beat KC at Arrowhead in Xmas last year, the same team that lost to a Bakerfield who had joined the rams 42 hours before the game, the same team that lost to a division 2 QB last year in Chicago. Its like Chuky cursed this team after beating them in the 2003 Superbowl. The pain will never end
From watching the first 2 games, I knew Bryce was the problem and we’d be better off with Dalton. I did not, however, expect this incredible performance. How ironic that they brought in Canales to “revive” Bryce like he did for Geno and Baker, and instead he revived Dalton’s career!
Dalton, I always thought he was a franchise QB but for some weird reason he doesn’t believe in himself anymore. He’s big, he’s accurate, he’s a veteran, but drops off like he’s two personalities! I knew he was going to have a great game because that’s his DNA…1 good game!! And then he folds.
I didn't expect that whooping but I expected a good game from the offense. Yes the roster and coaching were 2-15 worthy and ruined Bryce LAST year. But we did a great job fixing things on the offense and Bryce didnt step up He was a 100 ton anchor dragging down the team
Carolina didn't ruin Bryce. Alabama and sports media did. Had he worked out at the Combine, he would have been a second round pick. He played it smart and didn't participate because there was no way he was gonna live up to his hype with side by side comparisons to Stroud, Richardson and even Levis

Bryce Young should never have been drafted - should’ve stuck with Mayfield and Tepper stepped in and overruled that. He needs to sell the team and move on.
This is why you don't trade too much for a QB in the draft. That Panthers look like idiots for trading so much for a bust. JaMarcus 2.0.
At least we can move on from Bryce. Imagine if Tepper was successful and got Watson?
@@tbe0116 Nightmare fuel. Every time I'm sad about our QB situations, I just remember to be thankful that I'm not a Browns or Giants fan. Gotta be rough sledding right now.
Naw, Darnold.
This is rose tinted hindsight. Baker was complete dogshit in his few games for us. Best thing he did was get Rhule fired
"If the Panthers had drafted Stroud, he'd be doing just as bad..."
This game proved that argument totally wrong.
Hands up if you're a Raiders fan and knew the second Bryce was benched that this game was not going to be a cakewalk. Last year we saw them lose to a H.S. head coach (His only win that season btw), Baker Mayfield after flying into L.A. the same week of his first game on the Rams, and Tyler Bagent on the Bears.
"Until the end of time ..". Great line
Andy Dalton has tailed off. Still, I am fascinated by people who retroactively argue that he rarely played well or was totally abysmal.
Cool Cats put paws up if you are rocking with the Big Cat, El Grande Gato! I was not surprised that Bryce getting benched was the right move. Canales is the new Rivera, Rivera said he benched a high draft pick to get some wins (with Commanders) with better players just like Canales.
Y'all keep talking about Andy Dalton like he's a scrub. Dalton has always been a very good QB. The decision to sign him is the best decision they've made over the past couple of seasons.
You know who’s not stunned rich? Every person in your comment section from the past week 😂
Steelers fan here, I watched the bangles draft Andy Dalton in the first round back in 2011. Guy is no scrub.
KEEP POUNDING!🌊
I’m a saints fan, I saw Dalton come in for Jameis in 2022 when Jameis was terrible. Andy is just good enough run a professional offense, and he won’t embarrass you. He’ll coach up the young wr’s and him + theilin two vets have seen every coverage known to man, and on veteran savvy alone will do well. Obviously you aren’t going anywhere with Andy but he won’t embarrass you like someone playing as bad as Bryce young will
Rich you were wrong! Bryce can’t be fixed!!
True he can't see over the oline and has to make throws on his tippy toes
Nfl pundits: we weren’t wrong about Bryce being pro ready, the roster just sucks.
NFL pundits one week with Andy Dalton: look at how he elevates this bad roster.
The NFL fan base: oh maybe their roster is actually okay, and Bryce was just struggling.
How are the fans the most logical here lol
Every Raider fan of over 20yrs knew this was coming, I'm 44 and trust me unfortunately this was no surprise, sad to say but it was actually expected 😕
Shows Panthers have a lot of professionals but Young is not one of them
Raiders will lose this game and go on to beat the Chiefs
I agree , Raiders can beat really good teams ,but then don’t beat teams like the Panthers.
😂
MAXX has a high ankle sprain. I think they will lose until he’s healthy
Andy. Dalton. Was. Fantastic. For. The. Panthers
Gotta love Andy Dalton - a journeyman QB of late but a Professional QB. He QBed my horrid Bears team a few years back and gave us fans a breath of hope. Dude's a stud!
I loved the "business decisions" talk in the postgame by the Raiders coach as an aside. If you're making business decisions against the worst team listed by many in the league, when are you showing up? Would hate to be in that next set of practices.
Week 3 was out of control. The amount of upsets/chokejobs was on the richter scale. And there are still 2 games tonight.
Also for me it was the Buccs who ruined my survivor pool. Thats ya boy Rich - took a massive turd on live TV. Thats the browns baker i recall
He played against AFC North Defense in 2010s, he was gonna be just fine
This is my exact argument also. Same thing with Joe Flacco.
That Watson contract is weighing heavy on the Browns' soul. 🤣🤣👹👹
Been saying this for a year. Andy is a professional. Sit down kid and watch how its done.
Seahawks fan here. To say that the Panthers are the worst organization ever is not entirely fair, we remember when Ron Rivera, Cam Newton and Luke Kuechly were fighting us with San Fran to go to the Superbowl for about 5, 6 years. Those were very good teams
Watson is playing with heavy pockets
congratulations Andy Dalton! Huge fan in Cincy since 2011 rookie probowl season. Way to go! Have to root against you in week 4 though.
Put some respect on the Red Rifle! Dude knows how to sling it. Panthers +5.5 was easy 💰
I miss the old Dalton and Green combo.
We have pieces we’re not trash. We just needed a QB that knows what their doing and we have a true vet that been having skills and taking his team to the playoffs back in day like 4-5 seasons
Raider Nation 4 Life member here. First, congrats to the Panthers. Their first drive and our first drive showed me we were going lose. Here's the Raiders pattern for at least the last 7 seasons. 2 major upsets and 3 embarrassing events in every season. We are 1 each in 3 games so far.
It's the Caitlin EFFECT!🤗😉🏁🙏
If there is a miracle worker, Andy Dalton is the man. This man gives hope to a hopeless team.
I've never seen a #1 pick BUST!! Be so coddled by the media youngs a bum
Not stunned at all.
I'm not surprised. Andy Dalton is a certified Chad King.
And that is why Daniel Jeremiah is not a GM. Speaking out that where is Mayo boy?? lol
Cheering for the Panthers, hope yall make it to the superbowl
I'm happy for Andy. He's been patient and taken some shots with stoicism.
Not really...anyone who can see over the line would do better than Young
Hands up if you were part of the media who said the talent around Bryce was the problem and not Bryce
I actually had Panthers win in my pickems. One of the 3percent that did. The wheels of fate were aligning and it felt it was coming. WTG Red Rifle!
Keeppounding
The owner still needs to go away
Not near as bad as the JETS! We’ve been bad a few years. The JETS have stunk for decades.
Andy Dalton has been a pro bowl quarterback & it is not surprising that he played well on Sunday. Hopefully he continues to do so. The Oakland Athletics are arguably a worse run franchise these days than the Carolina Panthers are.
So what do they do with Young?
picked up the raiders defense for the week and had a feeling dalton was going to go off..not surprised at all
No Rich. Nobody was that surprised. You’re the one that can’t see that Bryce is awful
Dalton is a good backup QB, who showed it in Dallas. But get real...they were playing the Raiders this week so everyone saying Bryce is the ONLY reason they were losing....we'll see when the competition gets better. Bryce is not ready for the NFL but also not the only problem in Carolina.
The way people make excuse after excuse after excuse for QBs that end up being bust will forever blow my mind, Mac jones the perfect example
Tua ,Jones ,Young, Hurts. All Bama QBs. All played on stacked teams.
@@pete3445 yep, although hurts is gonna be really good he’s still very young and has a clutch gene that none of those other guys could think about having
Rich, how do you have your job and not see this coming?? We all saw this coming.
The guys who say "Worst roster in sports" really show how much they actually know about sports. Diontae Johnson, Adam Theilen, Xavier Legette, Damion Lewis, Robert Hunt, Shaq Thompson,....these boys are not terrible.
Bryce Young however is the worst QB in the entire NFL.
Wow.
Anyone who watchs Carolina panthers knew this would be a good Game for carolina. Won over 100k... Thxs Scrubs
They definitely played with a lot more confidence, that was plain to see. Had to be a rough day for Bryce taking it all in and the locker room celebration had to very awkward for him.
Andy Dalton is the Joe Flacco of 2024-25?
@@DavidLee-cr4xv lol
Andy Dalton is a seasoned veteran on fresh legs. He just won't hold up for a whole season. He played an excellent game vs the Raiders.
When Rich checked his book to see how long Watson's contract is in Cleveland....Brutal. 😂
Being a Bengal fan I always liked AD. But he hit his ceiling here. But he’s a class act and I’ll always root for him to do well. (Except on 9/29 😉)
Not surprising. Over the years, Dalton has been a competent professional QB for various teams.
Rich, Where's the segment where you get a Vikings there due.? You wrote them off and gave them credit at the same time last week
@@That85Scorpio panther fan here who knows Sam Darnold was not the prob on Carolina. The online was trash then and the media blamed every qb who came to town until Bryce. They fixed the online but every blamed the entire offense rather than admit Bryce sucked lol
I am a Panthers fan. They still have problems, and I am not foolish enough to think they are a contender now, but if you watch the film, it's clear the problems on offense were mainly Bryce. He couldn't throw a pass more than 10 yards, he took sacks that he didn't need to, he was just bad. He wasn't mishandled, he just didn't play well.
The Panther offense playing well didn't surprise me although I didn't expect 36 points. The defense did surprise me. Hopefully, its a sign of what is to come and not just an aberration.
Even the defense was flying around!
Rich: How many people were stunned?
*hands get raised
Rich: me too, I was really really stunned.
