      Thanks Eric comments appreciated. That’s the first time I tired to do the split screen. Requires a lot of camera battery to time with catching a fish 😅

    That was fabulous. Enjoyed it from start to finish. Super cinematography and tidy fishing. Good skills! When I was based in London I used to fish the Ogmore a lot. Didn’t connect with anything big but met some great people; Glen Ellis and Dai Criddle, who taught me to tie the Snake Fly. He gave me two of his which I treasure. Tight lines from an Irish man in Switzerland.

      Hi Jim, thanks for the positive comments, I really appreciate the feedback. Sorry for the delayed reply, I have been working away, back home now and time to get back to it. I was in Switzerland last year, such a beautiful country. Out of interest, do you fish out there ? The Ogmore is a fantastic river, there's a long waiting for a ticket on there now. Its only about 40mins from my home as well. I have a ticket for the Taff this year, which is just up the road from the Ogmore but hope to get on the Ogmore soon

    Not sure on this one, colours suggest a Sewin that has been in the river a month or so but doesn’t have the square tail typical of a sea trout. Doesn’t really matter though as it put a smile on your face and that’s what it’s all about. Keep those vids coming and thank you

    That was brilliant. I am going to have to tell the boys to clock onto your channel. It did look like a sea trout to me. However did not study it. Will look again another day. We used to dry fly at night for sea trout, and it was very successful. We used the moons light to get an idea as to where the fly was. Anything move in that area lift the rod. My best sea trout was just over 10lb. The river looked really good. Top tips, great set up. well done pro. If you can get more of this out there, you will have no problem building this channel. Oh loved the beginning. And yes not sure what water or stretch to do.Loads of times, as I used to fish Towy Carmarthen, Taff Whitland and St Clears and our local Western Cleddau where I had my 10lb sewin from. Take care. Catch up soon. Shaun.

      Thanks so much for the positive feedback Shaun mate, it's really appreciated. As you will know, this stuff takes time to produce so when you get positive feedback, it makes it worthwhile. I have had a couple of sea trout since this video, there's seems to be a good head in the river which is positive, the warm weather put an end to fishing front for now. I'd love to get more content out, its time with work and young kids, but i should try harder and not make excuses ! A 10lb sea trout is a great weight, I've not caught one that big on a fly rod, I bet it was hell of a battle ! for me, they fight like nothing else. I am awaiting eagerly for your next instalment :) i'd love to see a river video from down your way - its on my to do list on a day ticket. Take care and good luck on the bank

      @@thatfishingfix Shit no. That 10lb fish was on a spinner. Water at the time was too heavy for fly. Mind I have experienced much bigger on the fly rod, but lost them before netting. Biggest Sea Trout on fly was just under 7lb at night on a mudler skating on top. Your fish I would say that is a Sewin. Mind we have had trout in a land locked lake which you could swear was a Sea Trout. So silver. I have resigned from the rivers due to the issues. And besides our rivers have been hammered and totally neglected. But I will never say never. One of my most enjoyable rivers was the Taf in Whitland. And the lower beat. Amazing pools and runs. And in the day you would have some great runs of both Sewin and Salmon. My early days going back over 50 years it was all about Brown Trout. Mid Twenties it was all about Sewin { Sea Trout} Then later years it was the Salmon. The sad thing is we will never see the likes ever again. But I love watching the river Fishing. When it comes to RUclips and videos, be careful not to get sucked in. It can drag you down. Keep control, don't let it control you. So many of the boys on there have experience what can happen. Not good. Just let things happen at your pace and enjoy it. Take care mate. Shaun.

      @@shaunfishes101 haha i was thinking that would one down the backing and you sloshing downstream after it ! i don't blame you in regard to the rivers, it does get me down thinking how good we had it years ago, i dread to think what they will be like in another 10 years time. Appreciate your wisdom, for me this is just about learning editing, i don't even promote or advertise my videos, my wife doesn't even know i have them ! growing the channel is not a concern, its more around getting better at fishing and editing. That said, i can see how people can get wrapped up in it. Cheers Shaun catch you soon

      @@thatfishingfix I lived in Pembrokeshire for 30yrs, recently moved to Penarth. Was an obsessive sewin angler years ago, now I'm more wild brownies and grayling. Although I have caught a number of sewin on the Cleddau while fishing for brownies, biggest was 5lb 10oz on the dry, there's a picture of it if you go to buy a permit or day ticket on their website Pembrokeshire anglers, believe it or not it was on a tenkara rod 4lb tippet.

    Just discovered this channel! Brilliant!
    Good fluff chucking, my friend, and a lovely sewin! Lucky you caught her before the canoes spooked her! Only had sea trout like that during the day in my pre utube days, I'd kill for footage like that for my channel😊
    Look forward to more, just subbed 👍

      @thatfishingfix thanks mate! North west England, Lancashire is where I live, many of my vids are based on the little stream across the road in the woods 5 min walk from home, but I've done quite a few vids from Scotland and recently the lake district, Yorkshire dales etc
      Tbh I haven't visited Wales since pre utube days, last time I was chasing bass with the fly on Tenby beach. When I get a break from editing I'll look at more of yours

    thanks for uploading. Can you explain your setup please i didn't understand how you made your leading

    • @thatfishingfix
      @thatfishingfix  2 года назад

      For sure, it’s essentially two pieces of fluorocarbon with different diameter tied together, thickest leader goes into your fly line. This helps turn over when using light leaders and small flies. Hope this helps

      @andreadelean3305 apologise, I’m not familiar with that area. Your best bet would be to go to a local tackle shop and have a chat with them. They’re usually a good source of knowledge of fishing in the local area. You obviously have the Thames which holds a good head of fish, with many different species to target 👍
