I rank Gods Word first and this second! Thank You Mr. Beck for this awesome reading. We forget it was real people that wrote this document, they laughed, cried, worried, wondered, but they believed in a sovereign God!

I agree. Our government today has gone against much of what the Declaration says! G.W said himself that the political parties should be abolished and only be a temp thing! The people today hardly have any power. Sure, yes we are able to vote but that doesn't even matter anymore because at the end of the day the electoral college along with Congress picks who's president! And in my eyes sir...That's not a democracy but a monarchy! I pledged my loyalty to the United States of America. NOT to a corrupt government. OUR current president is much similar to that or King George! We have become the very thing we swore to abolish! But, I believe our country still has hope. We can change and in all honesty it wouldn't be that hard! While some may say that will be hard in the economy I say to them that there an imbecile! In fact the economy would most likely be better. We wouldn't need alliances anymore, it states in the constitution that we should have no permanent alliances. Though we are able to help out fellow countries but not long term! So true...and makes me wonder if that's one of the reasons our children aren't being taught cursive in schools anymore. That's one way of getting around an outright removal of our precious founding documents to some dark and dusty nook in the basement of the National Archives...to just make them unreadable to future generations passing them by on field trips. I mean that IS on par with the multitude of Lib/Progs who are present day erasing and skewing our American history and traditions, isn't it??

It is time WE THE PEOPLE throw off such government and provide new guards for our future security. That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
But the problem is not even the government anymore! It's the dictatorial assholes who are NOT in office and think they have a God-given right to be! They know that the structure of the American system prevents them from taking over the government, so they are instead trying to take control through the culture. It's the Alinsky method: use the system against itself. If we redesign the system, they will just redesign the way they exploit it.
This is not about what happens in Washington--that's just theater. We are fighting this battle on the wrong front. The problem is in our churches and our schools. The university system is infected by socialism beyond any hope of repair. We have to tear the whole thing down and start over. How do we do that? Hell if I know. Maybe start discrediting the corrupt professors, get them fired, and put people of honor and decency in their place...and defy the leftist mobs when they start crying discrimination.
The church also is corrupt, but not beyond hope in the way the schools are. They're caught up in the numbers game. They care more about their stats than they do about God and their communities. That's why you've got the Episcopalians supporting gay marriage and Methodists supporting abortion. It's the mentality that needs to change. How do we make that happen? I think the only way is through prayer.
What's happening to our Beloved Republic. The Love of The People have grown cold. 😔😔
"Life, liberty, and the pursuit of property" was the original version and order of importance.
Ownership of one's life & property, freedom from coercion to bear the responsibility to self-governance and defending against tyranny, and to be the master of our own destiny.

thank you very much for the way you read that sir. i suspect that those inflections of emotion have made many more aware of the intent of the writers. you have renewed this old marines will to stand for it till my dying breath. america may be being knocked to her knees by leftists right now but we are not out of the fight yet . so long as i and those like me still draw breath we will not go down without a fight. i swore an oath more than once to support and defend this country from all enemies foriegn and domestic . that oath did not end with my enlistment.

I believe that was the first copy of the Deceleration. This version wasn't ratified because of the references to slavery. Too bad, we wouldn't of had to wash the land in blood. Very well done Glenn.
Hate to be a downer here. How many here have asked there selves this question? Why is this not being taught in our schools anymore? I think if this was still being taught in school along with other things in our history. We would not be seeing and hearing what we are today. The truth will prevail.

Every politician should be force to say this from memory like I had to stand in front of class and read from memory the Gettysburg Address in grammar school, be forced to take random drug tests like they force us to do in many jobs,and allowed to be a politician in America not for getting rich but to do it to better the country, And finally to have term limits of a max of 8 years for all from state to federal

The Grievances written in the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights are a serious matter, indeed... They delineate the irresponsibility, the arrogance, the obstinence, and the outright tyranny which was perpetrated against the people of the colonies... We see this today in how government agencies are weaponized against us, how taxes have been levied (without representation) against us, how we have been treated as second-best or as Evil by those who are completely ignorant of their obligation to serve us and not themselves...

Am I the only one who realized he wasn’t reading THE Declaration of Indepence? No where does it say Christian king, and the declaration talks about the merciless Indian savages which was never said in this one. If I am not mistaken, he read the unedited declaration , thus making it not the one signed, because Jefferson wanted to talk about slaves but took it out because of the southern states.

The ideal of that document are the what true liberals, classical liberals believe not modern progressive liberals. This document is based on the individual need for liberty, tolerance and real equality, equality before the law.
