I have been waiting for this for a very long time! The C11s are one of, if not my favourite steam locomotive class. I look forward to future parts of this!
    Cheers, Kayden

An excellent video my friend! The C11's are incredibly appealing little (?) engines, and your retrospective on them has given me a new appreciation for them! Looking forward to the second part!

Handsome little engines, had no idea the same gentleman who designed the original Shinkansen designed these...as well as the D51.
Thanks very much for uploading this, made my day!

I loved my journey on the Ōigawa Railway behind C11 190. 😊 It’s somewhat like the birthplace of steam for pleasure in Japan! 🇯🇵

So a few days ago i figured out something very nice about C11 227 , she is the voice of the whistle from Galaxy Express 999!

So was 227 awaiting to be overhauled or was it scraped (probably not but I still want to know)
Edit: fantastic job on the C11 video

227 is now awaiting its overhaul, though it'd take a while to bring her to a workshop for restoration. The engine has been probably stored in a shed so far.

I think the "Thomas" one looks more like Belle as it's a blue 2-6-4T with outside cylinders.

About that engine that was withdrawn... The one you started describing at 5:45... What is its current fate now? It was a little bit difficult to follow in your video I have to admit.

I went in 2017 and it was absolutely packed with people. The tickets for riding on Thomas sold out very quickly and they had an extremely over-priced Bertie the bus driving kids around the area. Seemed to be doing good business.
The problem is the railway is in the middle of nowhere.. so many of the tourists are only there specifically for the Thomas connection.
