    Scott, what are your thoughts on selectivity and RF rejection in comparison to the FT-60? Thanks! UPDATE: Sold Alinco and bought the VX-6R. Great, solid radio.

    Question: do you have plans in the future to test and review the Alinco DJ-G7? Or the 3rd Gen Alinco DJ-MD5XLT?

    I love mine, only negative I have is the actual battery. Around the 3 years or so, the channels on the side of the battery which hold it in place broke due to the stress of holding it in place. Now I have a "good battery" that cannot be used. But other than that, it hears better than any of my GMRS radios that outprice it. It's a great introductory radio for a great price.

    What are your thoughts on this radio versus the Yaesu FT 60R? If you were going to buy one which one would you choose?

    What's that antenna you have on there, just curious. I figure if you are using it, it is probably a wise choice.

      Nagoya NA-701. Nagoya makes excellent aftermarket antennas.

    Is there any way to DC charge this like the vx-6r? I'm leaning toward the vx-6 just so I don't have to use sketchy software to mars mod it, but dc charging so I can charge from a power pack or 12v battery is very important to me. Without having to run 12v to a cradle...

    Great radio. I use it for SOTA. Chose it over the FT-65.

      Esa es mi duda, es mejor esta radio?. O la Yaesu FT65?. Estoy dudando realmente si su s-meter es fiable y si su sensibilidad es parecida a la Yaesu FT65. A ver quién puede decirme algo. Saludos!

    Mine just over 1 year since I bought it brandnew. Last it suddenly died everytime I hit PTT. Upon closer look, I found out that the stock battery is swollen. I think it's a factory deffect. Sad I have to spend again to buy new battery.

      Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, that happens from time to time. I have a brand new Wouxun KG-UV9P that came with a very suspect battery. Not happy about that.

      Mine did the same thing last month. I've used the radio 5 days a week at work for almost a year. I wonder if I overcharged the battery, or charged it too many times. I'll be buying a new battery for it, $39.99 or so.
      I know that it would add to the size, plus I'd have to buy a hi-capacity charging cradle, but I wish that Alinco would offer a hi-capacity battery for the VX50. I have the hi-capacity 3250 mA battery that interchanges with my DJ-500T+500TB/A40/MD5 h-t's

    Hmmm... If the cover gives it waterproofing then it sounds like a great opportunity for someone to make a speaker mic connector that seals it up.

    I wish these "reviews" would actually turn the radio on and test the quality of the receiver and transmitter. SINAD, adjacent channel rejection etc. Just talking about features is only 50% of what a radio is.

    • @KS6DAY
      @KS6DAY  3 месяца назад

      I started this channel because I didn't like how radios were being reviewed by other channels. They didn't cover the things that I felt were most important...to me. Sounds like you're in the same spot. So, start a channel, start buying all of the HT's, run your bench tests and publish the results. Others will find it useful. But I'm not the guy to run those tests. I have neither the proper equipment nor the training to produce accurate scientific results. I leave that to the testing labs.

      @@KS6DAYSi te sirve de ayuda mi punto de vista, debería poner la radio en recepción, comparándola con otra en algún sitio por la casa, o con alguna frecuencia que llegue en baja señal. Así podemos ver funcionar la radio " que es lo que vamos buscando la mayoría ". Claro que también lo demás es importante. Muchas gracias por el vídeo!. Yo sigo con la duda de si comprar esta radio, o la Yaesu ft65R? 🤔
