Constance Cummings is a most Stylish Leading Lady...Amazing to see a nice Gender reversal in the Rescue trajectory, Julie / Connie comes to the last - minute rescue while Jack lays supine on the operating table. Also amazing to read how Connie abandoned Hollywood in 1936 for Broadway, then Britain, later becoming a respected Shakspearian thespian and a Dame of the Order ! And Living to 95 to boot. Talk about reaching one's Potential !
humm two hundred miles out, lands and takes off with a 5-cylinder J6 R-540 whirlwind. Then see beautiful up-to-date for 30s Pratt & Whitney Wasp 1340 9-cyl (with nice 9-point star painted on). Then lands again 39:56, That Falcon back to 5-cylinder. Musta tossed some heads to lighten the load, eh? Tricky plot to this crime, or is it a horror show?
Definitely crime, with a sprinkling of horror due to the cemetery & coffin, but that's it. Karloff & Van Sloan raised my expectations that there would be more horror, but oh well.
