The most comforting person on this globe award goes to Linh. There isn’t a single video of hers that fails to make me think hard about life but also laugh and resonate with than Linh. I really appreciated this video because although I love reflecting on the year and setting goals, a lot of “new year, new me” content is deeply rooted in consumption, materialism, hyper-productivity, and ultimately capitalism :/ . Thank you Linh for reminding us that we are perfect just the way we are and we don’t have to analyze our routines, habits, and lives in order to be happy and show ourselves the love, care, and compassion we deserve! Linh, let me just say that you are so wise beyond your years! I'm 24, and I've been stressing the whole last quarter of the year about "plateuing" as you called it. I still live with my parents, and I keep feeling the pressure to move out and "become a real adult" but at this point it's just not financially feasible. I need to stop stressing!! The time will come when I can do that, but it's ok that that time isn't right now 😅
I'll be turning 25 this year and one of my biggest goals I'll be tackling this year is the start of my education post high school. It'll be entirely online which means I need to work on my time management and discipline myself with doing the work but also giving myself grace so I don't stress myself out too much. I just thought it was interesting that I'm actually still on track for my goal of going to school at 25 years of age that I set, back when I graduated from high school at 18. I'm going in as a "mature" student and I'm really hoping my first college experience is a good one!
i agree with you not making any new year resolutions, i saw a post on tumblr that we can make fun ones as well ! a fun one for me is taking a pic of every star or heart shaped thing i see out in the world !
another main thing i would like to practice in 2024 is learning how to truly enjoy things in day-to-day life, enjoy waking up a bit earlier in the morning to have a cup of coffee before work, enjoy sitting down, enjoy being able to take a hot shower. enjoy life more, love more, appreciate more and getting out of my head :,)
i have only just started the video but what you're saying about continuing good habits is SO TRUE!! my therapist and i talked recently about how its so much more important to realize and not lose the things you're doing well, rather than make your daily life into a pass/fail. you're so real for this

I love all these good vibes! This is actually really good timing -- today I finished 3D modeling all the files I need for my dollhouse furniture (I'm a student in Industrial Design trying to be a toy designer). I've been working on the project for six months now, and I'm so thrilled to have this part of it done!! I'm excited to see what 2024 has in store for all of us.

what was just supposed to be a quick watch before thinking of my goals for this year turned into SUCH an eye opener and source of comfort !! I LOVE the idea of an in/out list instead of a linear resolution list (which I always dreaded) and as someone also in undergrad it was a huge comfort hearing you talk about your experiences and emphasizing taking it day by day! thank you Linh ;-; you truly are timeless and sexy 🫶

as for new year's resolutions or in/outs:
I mainly want to be kind to myself, prioritze my health and well-being but also manage my time better and develop discipline. I want to put much more effort into studying.
I want to find time for reading, working out and drawing. and watching fimls/shows as well.
I definitely want to socialize more and develop friendships in uni but also maintain existing friendships as well. and spend time with my family as much as I can.
Omg I love a short hike so much. Even after finishing it I always go back to hit a beach ball with a stick when I feel overwhelmed. Another game I played a while back but really made me appreciate video games when I was younger was abzu. If you like the sea I highly recommend it is such a beautiful game.

Happy new year linh ヾ(≧ ▽ ≦)ゝyou've always been an inspiration to me about how to stay happy without feeling the pressure of just existence , and well my resolutions are 1. to not go back to people who aren't appreciating me or don't deserve me. 2. To love myself and to not do the negative down talk that i casually do. 3. to choose to let friends in , and to chose discomfort of opening up to my mom over rotting in depression. 4. To nourish my academic needs ,to the smell the real grass and experience how it feels to be 17 and wild and silly , because while I am making many mistakes everyday it helps me gain a unique perspective , and i wanna be making mistakes so i don't feel the regret of not having lived to my fullest.5. To set intentions before i speak or argue because the human is important to me sometimes , and losing 1 argument will not mean i lose. I love my friends now but I am graduating high school in about 2 months, and I have many exams like SATs , Neet [ medicine studies competitive exam ] , but I look forward to growing well and actually watering the roots , as I grew up I've changed into an introvert due to just hard times at high school but this year i wanna refocus on being kinder to me, because I only get to live as me once since my soul is eternal and my present life arrangement isn't so yes. Strangely enough , I have a really good feeling about 2024. [ my 2023 was the most painful year so far so yes let's hope we all have a chill year where we accomplish a lot , love a lot [ unromantically too ] , take care and just get to breathe a little easier. And Linh , honestly I love you so much as a person . - . you're the reason somedays i felt the push to get up regardless and do something and i relate to you a lot in some ways , so yes thank you for putting yourself out there and for being a good human , thank you for being in earth. [ apologies if i sound like a grandma , just rlly happy for the first time in like 10 months lmao ]

These past days I was also contemplating about my goals for 2024 and came to a similar conclusion. No new year’s resolutions but rather, there are things I would like to keep and also other things that I would like to keep working on/pursuing.

I usually have a set list of year goals and It has never worked for years. I also made the decision to just try to remain SAFE. I just need to feel safe. Safe with myself, my needs, financial stability and such. I feel like this is the only true resolution for me and I'll follow that path.

Hi Linh, first of all I want to thank you and tell you about what a positive impact you have on the world out there. Seeing you being yourself and enjoying all these little thing and doing stuff in an „untraditional“ way or in a way society frowns upon makes me feel so much more comfortable with being myself and starting to embrace parts of myself I didn’t show or even know about because they’re non-conformative or other people might frown at them. This video comforted me in a way a hug from a friend would, telling me everyone is great the way we are and whatever pace I‘m going is the right one for me even if others are faster or more linear. You are the one that inspired me to embrace my androgynous self, dress however I like and to change the relationship I have with my body.
I am looking forward to seeing you be unapologetically beautiful you on here again this year. Because YES I would love to hear you talk about those books from vlogmas 03 and I would be delighted to watch you cook and talk about how much you enjoy it.

My ins are learning how to cook, exercising (I really like taking walks I wanna make some time to take more), taking things at my own pace, reading more because since I started my English degree I kind of stopped reading for fun. My outs are eating takeout (I think everyone in college goes through this phase), saying yes to everything even if it makes me feel uncomfortable and feeling bad about how I look. Happy New year!!! I hope you accomplish everything you want to this year and I hope you have a warm, happy and comforting year with no worries and stress.

Adult life has taken so much from me that I've almost forgotten my old self.. lately I've been feeling very nostalgic looking at all my drawings, journals and posters and it makes me feel so wholesome knowing that person still resides within me. This year I plan to just get back too drawing, reading, working on my sleep, manifesting and getting the things I want.. To be able to save and to do some traveling to be able to make time for myself and loved ones.
this year i made a mind map of goals that id like to achieve instead of "resolutions" small things i can do to create a happier, and healthier, lifestyle!

i love the notion of not having any resolutions for 2024… i think my ins are being more mindful of how i spend my time (like what you said abt rotting vs vegetating) and cultivating my relationships more :) i wanna deepen my friendships, and board games sound like such a fun way to do so! i’ve been wanting to play games like we’re not really strangers with friends, so i could plan a picnic and play some board/card games with them this year :’)

Aw I really liked this! this year I spent more of my free time trying to go out and take pictures every weekend, and I enjoyed it so much and want to keep doing it this year. I didn’t do it as much in the last 2 months and I miss it! Being in nature taking pictures is so calming and relaxing for me

This year and grad school made me realise I’ve been doing the same thing-rushing. I have never taken a break because my brain thought if I did I’d fall behind and wouldn’t be “successful” but then I realised. I’ve never stopped to take a breath. So now the plan is moving home because actually I miss my home state more than I thought and take it easy.

I definitely agree that rotting is an OUT! After my freshman year of college, I decided to take a semester gap because my family and I were moving and I wanted to help my parents throughout the process. I’m still on my semester gap so I have waaaayyy too much time on my hand and I would just mindlessly scroll through tiktok. This definitely affected my mental and emotional health so I will definitely go back to my hobbies like picking a crochet hook after 7 years. Anyways happy new year Linh🫶🏼
