    I've had this banjo for 10 years and it has travelled all over the USA with me and even gone overseas to Asia. It's been in the Northeast through below 0 winters and humid summers, the Southwest through 114 degree weather and now lives on the coast in the Pacific Northwest and it hasn't changed a bit. The head is just a bit dirtier but it plays just as well.
    I used to work in a music store and we sold garbage banjos from brands I won't bother naming. They were only $100 or so cheaper than this one but it felt like a $1000+ difference. I'm seriously very thankful to Deering for making such a quality instrument at a good, entry level price point. It's rare to see.

    I finally got mine way down in Australia, it plays beautifully straight out of the box.

    Mine gets here Wednesday, I was worried it was never gonna ship. But two weeks later we finally get a shipping notice! Better late then never tho.

      So as it's been one year and you've had some time to make your opinion on it, are you happy with it?

    I think this man could sell me 3 day old hot dogs and I'd be hooked. Goddamnit...well, seems I'm gonna spend 150 bucks more then I planed to get a Deering instead of a Recording King. From the videos i've seen, it's worth it.

      Haha! Don't eat them! But I will tell you that just like a hot dog fresh from the grill, your banjo will be fresh from the production line. We only build to order and so you can be safe knowing that yours will be made for you, not for endless amounts of warehouse stock! :-)

      @@julianalbrecht9048I know it's 7 years, but you already know the difference was definitely worth it. Went into a pawn shop and traded my first banjo, a recording king plus 100 for one of these, NIGHT AND DAY difference. Wonderfully crafted piece right here and perfect for me who wants to be able to sing over it, transport it easily and play different styles on it

    I see a hole in the bar. Does that mean a resonator can be fixed to this model?

    • @DeeringBanjoCo
      @DeeringBanjoCo  4 года назад +2

      Well...yes a resonator can be fitted. But not in the way you are thinking. The hole you see is to make adjustments to the rod itself, which can be used to alter the angle of the neck.

    • @sgith9084

      Thank you! Are there any resonators or pick-ups made for this model?

    Anybody happen to know the scale length on these? I'm assuming it's standard?
    Would be awesome if Deering could produce these with a short scale.

    • @DeeringBanjoCo
      @DeeringBanjoCo  6 лет назад +1

      Hi there. The scale on these is 26 1/4". And actually, we do make a shorter scale, parlor version, which comes in at 23" scale. Check it out! www.deeringbanjos.com/products/goodtime-parlor-banjo
